We are a group of like-minded people that gather to discuss a host of topics from weight loss, to current events. Our thread celebrates liberal diversity, welcomes new friends, and respects all opinions. We count everything from calories to points but, we never count our chickens before they've hatched! *** Hey, Hey, Ho, Ho, Sean Spicer really should go ***

True Spicer seems to be utterly loyal to Tweety and is perfectly willing to lie and lie and lie some more for him, but really he is pathetic as a press secretary. He seems totally incapable of keeping his cool and behaving professionally. I suppose that's what Tweety likes about him, but it surely reflects badly on our country. His attitude, as far as the media goes, is like poking a stick at a snake. Sooner or later it's going to strike, and Spicer is going to get bit along with the rest of team Tweety.
Maybe we should all send him some Russian dressing?

Spicers treatment of April Ryan yesterday was horrible. It's too bad the press core didn't just all stand up & leave the room. Let Spicer spin his message to an empty room & no one cover it. Enough is enough. Why give team Tweety more air time for lying & slapping honest hardworking journalists down.
Is it my imagination or is Nunnes enjoying his latest spy role abit too much!?!?!? His snarky attitude towards anyone one who questions his role in all this makes me want to slap him up one side & down the other... I heard this morning, he may be one that was with Flynn when they talked to the Turkish Ambassador. I'm beginning to think some of the frenzy is because he is trying to cover his own azz as well.
Yup, goodbye EARTH ....Shameful what the stroke of a pen can do. Plus, say goodbye to Cyber privacy & security if Congress has its way. Which makes so much sense in this day of hacking, right?!??!... Bunch of damn idiots!

I am truly afraid of the direction our country is going. I saw Trumps speech yesterday as he was signing the EO's and he said something like how he asked the coal miners why they didn't just move into other jobs and they said that they want to being working in the mines not other jobs so he was like well let's bring back mining then! Sure, let's kill the environment for a harmful, dangerous, dying industry so that a bunch of coal miners in KY don't have to get a new profession.
lka5, I have thought for a couple of weeks that maybe Nunes is impeding the investigation because he might somehow be implicated in it himself. It just makes no sense what he is doing.
nashville11, I watch the daily press briefing nearly everyday - at least part of it. He is like this every single day. Everything is so contentious all the time. They act like the media is making all this stuff up and we are all falling for it. Sure, I watch CNN mostly but I also see the press conferences, the briefings, the speeches - everything - and not just from my own party. I am not being misled by my choice of media. I gather all the facts to base my opinions on - not just the ones that I agree with.

". Bunch of damn idiots! "
Not a qualified or seasoned politician among them but that's obviously what half the country wanted...a change. A new direction, something and someone different. They wanted to "bust up the government" and that's exactly what is going on. No thought or reason involved. Just contempt and hatred for the way things were. Get rid of all that pesky government stuff like clean air, water, and soil. Who needs that when you spend most of your time in an unsafe environment like a coal mine anyway? Get rid of all those pesky wild animals too. Who needs them? Besides, all they do is go after other wildlife that we really do enjoy killing for pleasure. Dump all those crooked lying politicians and fill the WH with honest and trust worthy corporate giants as well as the oaf's compassionate and decent children.
Oh, and we're also going to destroy Native American's sacred land. What do they know? I mean, what kind of People are they to even consider the kind of effect their decisions will have on 7 generations later. How stupid is that?
They are a bunch of damn idiots. However, I do have to hand it to those that voted for and still support him. They really did get what they wanted. Change like this country could never imagine.
Pathetic and heartbreaking.

Ummmmm . . . interesting point that Nunes may be trying to find cover for himself. I hadn't thought of that possibility, just thought he'd drunk too much of the Kool-Aid, but he may very well be in a panic over what may happen to his own behind.
The thing about the coal miners, and I do feel sorry for them as for many of them their families have been miners for generations, and they truly don't know another way of life. Some of them can't adapt, and some of them refuse to adapt to any other. We do need to be providing training for them to develop skills for other careers. But the reality is that coal is not going to be in demand the way it once was no matter how many EOs Tweety signs. Technology has simply passed them by while they weren't looking. In the meantime, irreparable harm is being done to the environment.

I completely agree! Please understand I'm not bashing these people or their families. I come from a blue collar family myself and wore a blue collar for over 30 years. They are being used and abused by an evil man and his gang of thugs who don't give a damn about them, their families, their health, or their future. It makes me angry. But lately everything damn thing makes me angry. lol.

If Fake Prz thinks he is doing coal miners a favor by bring back jobs "he" thinks they love, he is just wrong on so many levels. My dad was a Coal Miner for over 35 years and my husband was one for that long as well. I know both have said there is no such thing as "clean coal" or clean coal powered plants & would have preferred doing anything but mining. They DID NOT love their jobs. But, living where we did, it was a good paying job to provide for families in this area & not many other decent paying jobs available, with good health insurance & a good supportive Union. It was Strip Mining & strict reclamation regulations were enforced when my dad & husband were mining, but still, it still takes away from the environment, no doubt about it. The earth is never the same where mining has taken place. So, with Tweety relaxing the regulations on safety, mining & reclamation, just think how bad this is going to be in the future. More like disastrous. Just sad that Tweety & his rich friends just don't care except for the $$$ that line their personal pockets. Today the mine where both my dad & husband worked is shut down, the land reclaimed & Keystone Pineline has been stored there for almost 8 years or more. UGH on the pipeline! Wind Farms are a familiar sight nowadays around the state. Just dang sad that once these regulations take effect, the damage is done even if the rules get changed back.

Pat, I totally understand what you were saying, no problem. I can say with certainty that both my dad & husband if given the opportunity would have taken a different job, but sadly there were no other opportunities with same bennies.
Tweety is playing on the fears of those coal miners to make himself look kind, caring & understanding. He will fail at their expense & walk away blaming his failure to keep the coal promise on others & the coal mining families will be left with nothing.

Bill Moyers In a time of so many challenges in coal country, Chuck Nelson's courage has given a generation of coal miners, Appalachians and community activists a reason to believe. “Being a coal miner for nearly half my life, I clearly understand the position that we’ve always been put in,” Nelson wrote on Facebook last week. “It’s give, give, give, until there is nothing more to give. The coal companies have taken our health, and promised, “don’t worry, we will take care of you.” We have made these companies billions and billions of dollars. And what do they do, they take our lungs, they take our dignity and have always said, “the mule is always more important than the man.”
Let Us Now Praise a Coal Miner: Chuck Nelson is an American Hero - BillMoyers.com Among the hundreds of coal miners I have interviewed over the years, retired coal miner Chuck Nelson has always been among the most fearless truth-tellers in the coal country of West Virginia. Stephen Colbert trashed President Donald Trump’s proposed rollback of Obama-era environmental regulations on Tuesday. The “Late Show” host mocked the president’s insistence that his push for so-called “clean coal” would have no negative effect on the environment. “I know clean coal sounds like an oxymoron, but so does President Trump,” Colbert said.

Speaking of Spicer - yesterday someone on an online article referred to him as Shouty Spice . I about fell out of my chair! Just caught the very tail end of the press briefing with the Senate Intel Committee and man, what a difference! These guys know how to run an investigation so there is hope. I have confidence in Adam Shiff on the House Intel Committe but Nunes is blocking any progress over there.
