What have you done lately to be kind to yourself?

I really can't think of anything specific I did to be kind to myself lately. I do keep myself on plan and go to my WW meetings for my well being.

Kindness to Self: I think that mine would have to be not giving myself a verbal bashing for overindulgence Monday night...or when seeing the scale up yesterday then again this morning. I kind of roll with the punches, realize why, learn, and move on. I don't dwell on it or make it more than it was and know that this will happen in the future and will be prepared for it.

I acknowledge my feelings instead of trying to suppress them.

I try to be kind to myself mentally all the time, when negative memories randomly crop up, as they will.

With age I've become more kind to myself by not being such a perfectionist. I tend to let many things go by that I wouldn't when I was younger such as my appearance, clean inside of house and yard well groomed. Somedays I just can't do anything about these things so I have to accept them and move on.

Somedays I just can't do anything about these things so I have to accept them and move on. Me too. Sometimes I tell myself it's the wisdom that comes with age, other times that I just don't have the energy to be a perfectionist any more. Also, I think I used to use perfectionism as a subconscious cover for my innate fear of failure; if I couldn't do it perfectly I didn't have to do it at all. I just saw something on the GDT that spoke to me on this: Imperfect action will always beat perfect inaction.

lani, mac, There's someone on the web called "Fly Lady." She teaches you how to organize for house cleaning. She says perfectionism is your enemy. Getting it done is what matters. lani, I've caught myself giving up on trying to do things because I couldn't do it perfectly.
