This is a thread for those with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) or as I call it: Winter Depression. We can commiserate and encourage each other.

I up my vitamin D3 during the winter to help, and take Sam-E as well.

I also take vitamin D3 as recent blood test once again showed I am low on vitamin D. I also had a B12 blood test and found I am quite low on that as well so am taking 1000 mcg. of B12 and 50 mcg. of D3 as recommended by my doctor. These are a couple of blood tests we really need when we get older. bbbearsmom, What do you currently do for SAD Judy? Thanks Judy for starting this thread as I'm sure many people will use it including me as I have also been diagnosed with SAD in past years!

Well I now have this thread and a small group on Facebook and the companionship helps. I use a bright "sun" light when I'm at this computer during the day, and I also take D3. This year I'm doing meditation and I think it will help. It reduces my feelings of anxiety and increases the quality of my sleep.
Today is in the high 60's and low 70's and a bit humid and dreary. I consider this warm since a friend of mine in Minnesota says it is 24 there and they are getting snow and sleet tomorrow. Don't have much planned for the day, while my husband has a full day of soccer games on the TV.
