Thanks for the start, Karen. I hope all goes well at Osteo. Too bad about your internet. Glad we didn’t go with ATT. I hope the tire stays fixed. That was me yesterday with a guest sign in. I couldn’t get logged in.
Becky and Linda, I hope you are warmer today.
Kathy, we keep our thermostat on 67° all winter and wear socks, long pants and sweaters inside.
We are expecting rain all day but only 1-2 inches. This is day 3 of sinus face pain. Not feeling very chatty bit wanted to check in.

49 this morning! but in 70s afternoon and a lot warmer in sun. Weird to have heat on in Oct.
Woke up at 4:30 clogged up again. Sigh. Supposedly irrigation guy is working us in today...whenever. AC people coming tomorrow 7-9, probably same time the two week yard guys arrive.

Karen, thanks for the start. Hope you're not getting too much weather from Zeta. At least it looks like it's moving fast.
Chele, hope you're feeling better. ATT has been a major pain for everyone I know that has their TV or internet. 67 isn't too bad considering how cold it gets where you are. My AC is still going right now and they're saying we have a few more days in the 90s. We might get our first cooler weather next week.
Linda, I can't believe you're in the 40s! Looks like I will make it through October with the AC still going.
Becky, 60 is really cool inside the house. Hope it warms up a bit there.
Liz, how has your week gone? The virus numbers are looking scary everywhere, but NY seems to be doing better than a lot of places.

45 morning, 88 afternoon....
Karen, this is scary...”The average daily death tolls in Tennessee and Idaho have spiked by between 70% and 90% this week, according to Johns Hopkins.
"We're really not going to see this start to peak until after Thanksgiving," former Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb told CNBC Thursday.
"After Thanksgiving, that's going to be a turning point when the infection levels get high enough in many parts of the country that we start to see a policy reaction and also consumer behavior start to change."

Kathy, my friends in South Florida had very few options for heating. But I guess they didn't need it as much as your part of the state. Interesting that you had an actual furnace in the house where you grew up. I guess until heat pumps got popular in the '70s, that was one of the few options. Did you get any rain from Zeta? The tropical storm came right through here and brought wind and rain. 2+ inches and the wind is just now dying down.
WOW! on your low of 39 degrees, Becky! We were in the 60s all day and were there until late morning. I would imagine that here the only polls where you have to wear a mask are those in counties with mask mandates, even though in the middle of October, the WH quietly told our governor that he needed to implement a statewide mandate. He didn't do it. I think about 20 out of 95 counties here have mandates. Vanderbilt did a recent study that showed that hospitalizations are about half the number in counties with mandates compared to those without. Where I got my tire fixed yesterday is in a county without a mandate and I was the only person wearing a mask. Probably a good idea to get with the ortho since you are still having IT issues. Is this the same one who did your knee surgery?
Linda, that is unusual for you to need the heat this time of year. Did the irrigation guy get there? I didn't even realize they still made Spirographs. The one I had got me through HS Geometry. I used to turn in very colorful projects I did with the Spirograph and got extra credit. It's the only way I passed the course. How close are you to Goodyear, AZ? I saw Trump had a superspreader event there yesterday. And how disrespectful he was to Martha McSally after she was one of the Republicans who kept him from being removed from office after he was impeached. The Highwayman gave me the shivers. Good job getting most of your holiday shopping done. I haven't even thought about it. Guess I need to make a list. Yes, our numbers are going up here. But we wouldn't want to tread on anyone's "civil liberties". We just do our best to stay out of the fray. I'm a big believer in Dr. Gottlieb and some others. We have a bunch of people here who still think it will be all over next Wednesday. When will you sew the masks? If I have the energy tomorrow, I probably need to do some fall and holiday ones.
I didn't realize, Chele, that you were "guest" yesterday. I looked at the avatar and it was the default Denise uses, so I thought it was you and wondered if you weren't feeling well. So no problem logging in today? My favorite saying: "technology is great when it works". Still no internet. We don't have ATT as the actual provider, but our company contracts with cell tower companies and that's what we get because that's our closest tower. Your house sounds like mine with the thermostate on 67 wearing sweats and socks. Fingers crossed on the tire holding into the spring when I plan to have all 4 tires replaced.
Denise, did you get rain from Zeta? How are things at your hospital?
Liz texted me. Things are crazy there with the hospital and her chef friend is still in the hospital and not doing well. They have had to up Zoe's meds because she was having breakthrough symptoms. She sends warm wishes to all of you.
I had rain all the way to Osteo and wind all the way home. Heard from DSIL and they got wind and 1.5" rain. They lost a few shingles but they are getting a new roof at some point complements of Sally so it's good that it hasn't been installed yet. I picked up the replacement crisper drawer for the fridge that I ordered in August and finally came in. It's a perfect fit and was $20 cheaper than the estimate, so that was a nice surprise. I stopped at the gym and then hit the sushi place on the way home. Nice, easy dinner prep which is good because I'm tired.

Thanks for the start Karen.
Chele Our low was 39 and our high was 60.The sun was deceiving because the wind was so strong.May get up to 70 tomorrow.I hope your sinus pain goes away soon.Feel better.
Linda We have had the heater on for last 2 days also.I saw on the news Dr Fauci said he is doing a virtual Thanksgiving with his family because his children don't want to endanger him.
Kathy I guess since you get all the rain you stay hotter longer? They are predicting highs in the 70's for the next week.I hope they are right.
Karen I am not sure but I think they overturned the law on having to wear masks at polling places here.Abbott doesn't want anyone who wants to vote to be turned away.Yes it's the same ortho. It's not only the IT band.My left knee also hurts and I have to use both legs to move around.Kenneth has seen the same woman in HEB and today in Walmart not wearing a mask. The stores are supposed to have the authority to refuse service to anyone not wearing a mask but who will refuse money?Covid will not be over after election day no matter who gets elected. Our church council was starting to organize a Thanksgiving luncheon sometime in November. Now it would be fine if it was in the spring and it was outside and people could distance but the fellowship hall is so small you are elbow to elbow at the tables.Thank goodness wiser heads prevailed and one of the ladies talked to the pastor and it's been canceled.I wasn't going anyway b/c if we don't feel comfortable enough to go to services I'm not going to a luncheon. Thanks for the update on Liz.I'm sure things are super crazy up there.

Goodyear (named for the tires that began there because they used the cotton crop in them then) is a good hour away in freeway to the west of Phoenix. We are on the east side of Phoenix. You are surprised that Trump is not nice to somebody he doesn't need right now who is losing big time?
When the virus does not disappear after Nov 3, there will be a new reason to call it a Democrats 'hoax. Count on it.
DSIL back east with major allergy and asthma problems is the last person who should get the virus but she wants family for Thanksgiving...people outside their household...daughter and her spouse driving up from DC, two nephews who work with public...one in casino, and daughter's mil who socializes a lot. Says she will be careful...yeah? Eating together with no masks, in and out of crowded kitchen?
