This is a thread "under construction" and will eagerly take take comments and ideas into consideration to make a thread for all of us counting bites, points, calories, exchanges or whatever else floats your boat to come for ideas, support, a place to chat, share, whatever. We have 8 weeks till the end of the year so thought that we could take each week to discuss a topic that will help us stay focused on our goals for the weeks remaining in 2020.
This week perhaps it is wise to set our intentions for the next eight weeks. So, for more information on intentions and how to set them and the impact they have here are a couple of url's with articles:
Defining Intention A working definition for intention is: βto have in mind a purpose or plan, to direct the mind, to aim.β Lacking intention, we sometimes stray without meaning or direction. But with it, all the forces of the universe can align to make even the most impossible, possible.
The first article:
1. Get clear about something you want - think it, visualize it, write it down 2. Make your mental intention your reality now.. I AM healthy.. I AM happy.. I AM the weight I want to be 3. Share your intention with someone in a way that will supportively hold you accountable 4. Acknowledge and visualize gratitude... we are all just quantum particle of energy that have been granted the privilege of a human experience. That experience.. all of it ..good or bad builds the amazing soul that you are.. give thanks for that in some small way every day.
Chopra's link suggests:
1. Think of your most pressing health goal. 2. Close your eyes. Picture yourself achieving that goal. 3. How does it feel? Try to pinpoint that feeling with one word. This is your intention. 4. Describe, in a few sentences, exactly how that intention feels in your body. These sentences are your mantra. 5. What other daily practices or experiences create that same feeling in your body? Create a list. These are choices for daily actions to help you foster your intention.
Focus for this week:
1. Comment on the above OR 2. Come by and say hi, let us know what plan you are following 4. Share your intention if you would like to
As mentioned...it would be nice to have a place for those counting and not on one of the current WW programs to chat and share. This space might be that place...or not. It could be that counting is a thing of the past and we don't need this board but could make do on the general board or somewhere else.
irisinnia , has been our cheerleader doing weekly "meetings" and I thank her for doing this. Hope to see some comments and interest and feedback.

I am looking forward to more interaction on this board and hope it will happen in this or another new thread. I am currently using I Track Bites Conquer Cravings option that is similar to the early WW points counting programs.
My Intention follows though I am not positive how to write one so if anyone knows how to write them please step in and help us out.
I am making healthy choices while listening to my body as I move toward goal weight.
This seems to be positive, in the present, I can feel it, and I can see it...I think the next part of this is to set up an action plan with goals and other things and have seen a grid for this so...will try to post that for next week...maybe

cathygeha, Great topic! I loved all the links and the write-up! I'm hoping for more interaction too. I hope you find that grid for next week! Thank you!!! I am using iTrackBites - Carb Conscious, which is essentially PointsPlus. I'm a big fan of intention setting, and these were great articles to read. My intention: I am my perfect weight. I am light as a feather with boundless energy. I savor my healthy diet. Positive - check Present - check Feel it - check See it - check I am writing it in my journal for future reference.

I keep trying to get my tushie back here but I keep getting pulled in 85 directions.
myWW is maintenance mode for me. I am hopping back on PP now that I have a chance I have started writing everything down and pulled out all my PP stuff. So, hopefully I will be around more to post, it might be a quick one and I might not have a chance to answer questions, so you can boot me out of this thread if you want π€£ but I will make a concerted effort to get here more.

I don't have my original program information as I was NEVER going to "diet" again. Sometimes wish I still had it but also am fine using I Track Bites as it is much like the original Weight Watchers program I lost on in 1998/9

Hi Ladies!
Cathy I saw your post about this on the General board at the beginning of the week and I stopped by and briefly read through. I also got sidetracked lol. It really looks great! I'm hoping I can pop in to post and maybe make it regular thing.
I first got to goal doing Points (online only) in Dec. 2011. I've been essentially doing Points Plus using iTrackBites Carb Conscious since 2016. I love that they have a version of GHG's with check-boxes and also an activity tracker.

That is how I got my hands on everything after the flood.

DebDoesWW, Thank you for the offer. I have most of the information for Winning Points, 123 and the like memorized...or nearly so. The I Track Bites is a combination of those and the ones up to Points+ in that it uses fat, fiber and calories to determine points/bites and that is the way I did it in 1998/9 and reached goal. Back then there was a range of points, the next year they took away two points from the top and bottom of the points range and I think the next change was to give a target points for the day with weekly points to spend as you chose. With ITB the have a target with 35 weeklies to spend so it is about the same as the later program rather than having to save points for an event you have them saved already...maybe?
I just looked at the prices on those books from so long ago and think that the free ITB app is just fine for me! I know ITB has points plus (sort of) too but I never cottoned to that one or really tried it or smart points.

How would a post your totals work? I know there are already threads for "what you ate for the day" but post your totals would be points only? I do this with my sister by telling her how many dailies I used, how many weeklies I have left and how many activity points I accrued.
I am okay without a points spot to post since I have my sister BUT thought this might be the best place for me since I am counting an older version of points. irisinnia, doordie50, might also have some input and I think there are others, too.
I think it is wise to hold off on a name change till we find out what happens with changes in the program.

I agree with cathygeha that it is wise to hold off on the name change until it happens. The 16th could be drastic and send a lot more packing. I doubt it but it's possible. I like DebDoesWW ideas regarding opening it up to more points tracking programs, or even iTrackBites users in general. I also like the idea of a "points check in" thread. Regarding names, it wouldn't hurt to come up with a few ideas. I was thinking we could do something cute like: Points Past or Past Timers or Before SmartPoints or Oldies but Goodies, or anything that would convey that we were the programs before the current programs. That would be great too because then people could share program materials; which is what I was kinda going for when we started. I'd love to hear about the older programs too. I think there's something to be learned from each iteration. Conversely, if we decide not to make it so plan-based, like if they ditch the green, blue, purple, people then we could go with something more like an app-based group. Almost like rad's WW Refugees group on LoseIt. We could name it something like that too. I'm just spit-balling here. I'm really open to anything.

Maybe on the 16th if there is a reshuffle of the boards and renaming there could be a:
* WW My Way board (or one for each of the programs that they end up with after the 16th)
* Simply Filling/Core Board * Old WW Programs Board/Other Weight Loss Programs...or just other programs
I think that there are those that use apps so that could be a board or it could come with the old WW programs under OTHER. It will depend on what you all decide after whatever "new" information comes out.
I am fairly sure that everyone will find their group again if there is a shuffle

cathygeha, actually the only current WW plan board that sees any action now is the purple. We are leaving that and Vegan for sure. Besides you guys that is all of them. So there won't be any shuffling. It is too soon for any major program changes, it will be years before an actual new program, but we are just being cautious by waiting for the 16th. It is the "other" one we are trying to find a name for. We are trying to avoid "everything else" and "other" and find something catchy.
