No signs of voter intimidation here in Ohio. Massive lines before polling stations opened this morning but no issues except a few mechanical ones. My DB is in a state of high anxiety 😥 . I am doing what Linda is doing-not watching the news.
I went to Wally World this morning after rush hour but there were a lot of cars on the road and Walmart was packed. Everyone wore masks and were civil. As Linda mentioned, the paper products are thinning out, so I grabbed an 18 pack of TP and a couple of boxes of tissues. The cleaning supplies were wiped out and there were some empty spots in the laundry detergent and bleach aisle.
I was looking for something for the houseplants and went to the garden center. It was filled with Christmas stuff. Too soon.
We had over 4000 COVID cases yesterday and our positivity rate is 7%.
Karen, how was the gym? Did you pass any polling places?
Linda, I had to chuckle at the mocking bird imitating your whistle to Micki. I would love to see Micki’s face. Enjoy your mystery.
Kathy, how are things in Florida today? I think Showtime is also doing a series on the moon called Moonbase 8. I don’t get any of the premium channels-too expensive.
Becky, what are you hearing about voting in Texas? All quiet?
Liz, Denise, I hope your commutes went well.

Hello from NYC Chicks and thanks for the start Karen, Chele - I'm sorry to hear that your Covid numbers are escalating to that extent. We have been fortunate that the numbers are only creeping up so far and that's just fine with me. We're all concerned for what happens once the truly cold weather forces folks to stay inside with often less than ideal air systems. WOW on already being below freezing! We have gone down to the mid to high 30s but haven't hit an actual freeze temp yet. We've had 2 days of chilly weather with real feels in the freezing range but it's supposed to be back up into the 60s by the weekend (sigh). Glad you were able to pick up the extra supplies at Wally World today. We haven't yet seen those items flying off the shelves so I am once again grateful. How is Iggy doing? How is the bird feeder doing with the cold weather? How are YOU feeling? Linda - nice picture of you for your avatar! Laying in bed with the dog and coffee sure does sound nice! We had 4 DOH surveyors walk in yesterday so things are a bit frenetic around the buildings. Hungarian paprika soup sounds good but I would have to use red bell peppers as I can't tolerate the green ones. Not sure if this evening will bring issues with people or tomorrow and moving forward. Not sure that people realize it's going to be days+ before they have a final vote count. Good luck with assisting DH with the flooring project. Kathy - how goes things with you? How is DM and the rest of the family doing? Did you have any issues with that last storm coming through the gulf? Becky - how is the IT band doing? How are the knees? Have things been quiet and safe by you? How are Kenneth and the fur babies doing? Zoe started a second dose of the medicine for Cushings as the symptoms came back and the vet figured the tumor must have grown. She's settling a bit more now from last week thank heavens. Dennise/Moonriver - hope you stay safe and have no problems with any issues getting to and from work. Karen - I saw chef this afternoon and he was witching up a storm. He has become frustrated with mixed messages from different medical staff. I think he contacted his cardiologist and she has stated all communication should come through her office. He's probably lost 40+ lbs. in a little over a month. The DOH survey continues without much good communication coming to us from the command center. I was pitching in and helping to plate meals for the Support Services celebrations this week. In between I'm continuing the fight for my frozen positions and trying to deal with getting all the staff compliant with flu shots and mandated educational classes. How are you feeling? Have you had any recurring issues with fever or fatigue? Gary will need to give me my B12 shot tonight so that should be interesting. Let's hope he does it well . I'm listening just for a few minutes as I'm typing to the think tank election prognosticators. How are Arya and Dale doing? Was today Osteo day? Well dear ladies, please be safe and take good care of you! Wishing you all a warm and relaxing evening. Ciao for now~

Kathy, our covid numbers jumped from less than 1,000 on Sunday to over 3,000 yesterday. I had a feeling that Sunday number was artificially low. I liked the Village People SNL sketch, too. Does your comfortable weather continue? Have you seen the update on Hurricane Eta? I hopethat onedoesn't end up hitting FL or the Gulf Coast.
How cold were you this morning, Becky? We were in the mid 30s but that was warmer than they predicted. How are the knees and ITB doing today? Best of luck with the ortho tomorrow.
Linda, isn't the phrase on your shirts from A Handmaid's Tale? I think you're right that we're in it for the long haul on this election. Fox News was on at the gym this morning and its predictions look totally different from the other networks. But then I guess it makes sense since they are playing to an audience of one. I wouldn't go to the library for that book today either. We plan to do Netflix or Fear the Walking Dead instead of watching regular TV tonight. I hope you don't get a headache from that wine. Apple Cinnamon Cheesecake Tart?? Dale emailed me a recipe for a Cinammon Apple Skillet Pancake that he wants to try.
Good that there is no evidence of voter intimidation there, Chele, especially since OH is a coveted prize for both sides. Good luck to your DB. I know it could be somewhat contentious where he lives. Incredible that we're looking at shortages yet again. I just checked our daily CV-19 numbers, which are a little more than half what they were yesterday, so that's a good thing. But the positivity rate is 13.52%! The gym was a bit more crowded than usual, which I wasn't expecting. I did manage to keep my distance, didn't stop anywhere on the way home, and hit the shower as soon as I got here.
Liz, good to hear from you. I guess if Chef is able to witch up a storm, that's not a bad thing, as long as he doesn't get really upset and suffer a setback. Is the weight loss a good thing? As usual, it sounds like you're going in 6 different directions at once. I hope the DOH visit will be a good one. Good luck to Gary tonight with the shot. Once he gets the hang of it, things should go pretty smoothly. Will that be a weekly thing? Dale and Arya are doing fine Dale has almost finished with his part time project that sometimes seems like he's working 2 FT jobs. The project lead in Iowa and his family have "the 'rona" and are all symptomatic. Dale said after he talked to the guy, he feels the need to disinfect the phone and his ear. Osteo is Thursday this week.
I hope things stay peaceful there, Denise.
We didn't get to freezing this morning but close. After I got home from the gym as I was getting ready to jump into the shower, I saw a large bird flying around and about half an hour later it finally landed in a tree and I was able to see it through the telescope. It was a Golden Eagle, and we don't have many of those around. In fact, this is the first one I've seen. We have a lot of bald eagles and I'm used to seeing them (but it's exciting every time). I wish my camera could be fitted with a telephoto lens so I could have gotten a closer picture to show what I saw through the telescope. It's a little smaller than a bald eagle, but still impressive. We have a sunny day but it's just in the 50s. Should be back into the 70s by the weekend. Looking forward to getting through to the election results, not just for president but also for the senate.

exchange some bacon grease for olive oil to cut sat. Fats. The bacon is easier to cut if partly frozen.

Karen, thanks for the start. That is an impressive bird! It's always exciting to see an eagle. We had a pair of bald eagles in the neighborhood for years, but I haven't seen them in recent years. I saw the update on Eta and that is a crazy path. It looks like South Florida could get some of it if it really goes on that path.
Linda, nice picture! Love the shirt. They are thinking that Florida's results will come in tonight since so many people mailed their ballots in early or voted early in person. That cheesecake tart sounds delicious! Enjoy the dinner and the wine.
Chele, I turned the local news on at noon, but otherwise have not turned on the tv. Interesting on paper products getting low again. I'm starting to put in an order for tomorrow, so will add a few things. I'm much better prepared now than I was in March, so should be okay even if they run out. Our positivity rate was just under 7%. Not good. Sometimes my cable has free premium weekends, so I'll keep an eye out for a few Showtime weekend. Showtime also has a free 30 day trial, so I may do that at some point. The voter turnout was pretty light in Central Florida today according to the local news. It may pick up after work hours.
Liz, DM and the rest of the family are doing fine. The last storm in the Gulf went too far west to affect us, thank goodness. Have you seen the path for Eta though? It's going in to Central America and they think it will loop around and come back to Florida!! Only in 2020. Good luck with the B12 shot. Hope Gary is up to the task. We got down to around 60 last night, but I don't think we quite broke into the 50s. It was feeling chilly and I went to look at the thermostat and it was all the way down to 72, so I toughed it out with no heat, lol. Hope Zoe improves with the meds. Sorry to hear the chef is having such a tough time. Hope all goes well with the DOH survey. Stay safe out there!
Becky, hope the knees aren't bothering you too much today.

Thanks for the start Karen.
Linda I love your picture. You look so good.
Chele We went to Walmart also. There was a family of 4 not wearing masks. The 2 kids were too young to be required to wear them but the parents didn't wear them either.I didn't buy any meat there but there was a whole section in the meat department that was bare.I did see wipes and spray but paper products are thinning out.No voter intimidation here either. The most anyone around here has had to wait is 10-15 minutes. The only thing I plan to say about the election is God Bless America no matter who wins.
Liz Good to "see" you.We have been down to 33 twice already but once the sun comes out it warms up nicely.Even got up to 80 and beautiful today. The knees are about the same.I had an appointment scheduled for tomorrow but I changed it until Friday.Everyone else is fine.I'm sorry Zoe's symptoms came back.Wow on the chef losing so much weight. Our dancing friend who was in the hospital for less than a week lost 11 lbs.
Karen We were at 33 again this morning but our high was 80 and beautiful for a walk this afternoon.I rescheduled my appointment until Friday.Kenneth was leary with Round Rock being so close to Austin that if trouble broke out we would be in a bad place so to settle his fears I just rescheduled. Not quite as bad today but it still hurts even on the left side of the knee. When I got back from my walk Kenneth had woke up from his nap and had Fox News on and I asked him if he wouldn't get enough of that tonight?I doubt we will find out anything tonight anyway with PA and other states counting ballots for days. It's supposed to be election day not election week.
Kathy They weren't as bad but the last time I got up it seized up on me. I'm glad Eta isn't going to hit FL.
