Good morning friends. Slept well and grateful. I'm just in a funk re: my phone or should I say lack of. Carl worked on it and it's still not working. He will try again today and if it's still 'off' he will find someone that can fix it.
I'm lost without it!!!!!
Pam so happy that the guy that recommended the carpenter offered to check things out for you. Hopefully he will get in touch with you. Nice that he has the same experience. Kudos for keeping up with your walks. Awesome job on your steps!!!! I hit that number but never on a daily basis LOL.
Waving and will CBL

Good morning!
It's a beautiful sunny day and was only 37 out when Debbie and I walked this morning. I read until midnight last night and slept well, but woke at 5:30 am with a headache. I got up and took some advil and went back to bed until 6:30. When I woke, the headache was gone, thank goodness.
I plan to do more work in the garden today and maybe steam clean the kitchen floor again. I want to see just how much of the tile grout will come clean before I have to resort to hand-scrubbing. It will depend upon how much energy I have left after hoeing in the garden.
Ann - I know the feeling about a cellphone! They have become like an appendage and we are lost without them. Hopefully, you can get it fixed today.
I had 2 of the leftover pecan pancakes today and liked them just as much as the first time. I will be making more again soon. Lunch will be soup and sandwich of some variety. Dinner will be smoked beef bits on baked potato, beets and carrots from the freezer, an easy meal to prepare.
Hope all is well in your world!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Tuesday!! It is Election Day and I am so very grateful that DH and I both already voted!
Ann ~ I am so sorry to hear about your phone!! I know how lost I would be without mine. That is why I am headed out Thursday to replace the battery. We no longer have a land line, and DH gives his number out mostly for work - so my cell phone has become "our" phone for everyone in our family. I do hope Carl can either fix it or find someone who can?? <Fingers crossed >
Judy ~ You're still working from home, right? Was this the morning you were to get your car back? Hopefully you are all set with your own set of wheels now?
Pam ~ So sorry to hear about DH’s foot! That is truly a bummer, but hope it resolves quickly. Regarding your repair guy – what can I say?? Not calling people back is absolutely unforgiveable!! Glad you are in touch with someone there at least, even if he couldn’t get the tarp up because of the wind. At least he got the tarp and you know he’ll do it. Sounds like you and Abby had a wonderful time together. She is one very lucky little DGD! If the worse that happens is being up a little bit late, she’ll be fine, right? I will let you know how my new phone battery works. Since mine was losing power quicker even before the latest upgrade, I don’t think I can totally blame that. But we’ll see, I am sure. I have to agree that they always have tricks to make us buy new phones. Mine just turned 3 years old and I don’t want to replace it yet. I’m like you – once I get used to it I am in no hurry to change. Your DD is absolutely right! We all have to decide what is best for us and stick to it. DH and I have had to make some hard decisions during this time, but we are responsible for ourselves and no one is going to do it for us.
When I talked with my HS teacher yesterday and we compared notes on precautions I was delighted that we are on the same page (exactly!). Her boyfriend has an auto-immune disorder and her parents (who they live with) are both older and uninsured. So she is very careful. She even leaves a change of clothes in the garage and changes there on her way in from work and drops what she wore in the washer (with a laundry room right off the garage). It will definitely make me more comfortable working with her and being a team in setting up the precautions in our classroom (if and when that happens).
DH was quite late getting home last night but we had a terrific supper together, then got to watch "The Voice" together. We are taking our 'little pleasures' where we can these days. I am feeling a little bit better today. A great night's sleep did wonders for me! I went to bed right at 10 and went to sleep pretty quickly. DH stayed up to watch some of the news and I didn't even know when he came to bed.
Today is another free day for me. I am going to start doing some preparation for the carpet cleaner tomorrow. It will be nice to get that behind me. I am going to take a walk this morning. I was glad I did yesterday, because I never felt like it again later in the day. So I'll go early again and if my energy level stays up, I may take another one later.
BBL. Make a great day!!

I took advantage of Carl not being home and house cleaned. Really wasn't in the mood, but now that it's done I can sit back and enjoy the fruits of my labor. Tonight's supper is easy.....chili in the crock pot bubbling away Breakfast was oatmeal with raisins and walnuts and a banana and lunch was cherry tomatoes hummus pita bread and a bowl of veggie/bean soup. Sue I am also happy that the voting is behind us as well. Also crossing my fingers eyes and legs that it can be fixed. We are communicating via email which just isn't the same. We also do not have landline any longer. We both just use our cell phones. I will be happy when I get it back. I feel so LOST without it. You don't realize how important something is until it's not there..... I took a walk earlier which was much better than yesterday as there is no wind and plenty of sunshine. I may go again later on once Carl gets back home. It's hard for me to walk LuLa solo as she pulls and it bothers my upper body due to the surgeries..... Pam oh I bet those pancakes were to die for. I love anything with pecans in it with the exception of pecan pie LOL.....Happy your headache is gone. Happy floor steaming! I hope you have energy after working in the garden. I probably wouldn't LOL. My soup has to bee cooled off enough to enjoy. At times I get 'carried away' nuking it Will CBL..... Also want the SAME PHONE should it need to be replaced....I don't 'play well' with change!

Just heard from Carl...I have a 'bad screen'. He had to leave it off with them and when it's fixed he'll pick it up. No clue how long it'll take and the price will be around 80.00! I don't care about the price...I just want my 'friend' back LOL. I'm not even sure what a 'bad screen' is and really don't care...I know my technical limitations LOL.

Ann ~ I can so relate to your loss of your phone! When the battery place told me I would have to leave it, I asked "for how long?" and she said about an hour. I still thought "what will I do for an hour?" until she mentioned that Kerby's Coney Island is right close by and perhaps I could go there and have a cup of coffee? That's when I called my niece and discovered she is off this week and would love to meet me for lunch one day. I let her pick the day and then made the phone battery appointment. Anyway - I do not know what I would do without my phone!! I'm sure I would survive but I wouldn't be happy! Do you have any idea when you'll get yours back??
Pam ~ We were posting at the same time this morning, which is what Judy and I usually do <LOL>
I have been out for one walk this morning and it is surprisingly warm! It was 48 (according to Alexa) when I walked about 11 with a predicted high of 58. We have a week-long warm up ahead of us. I have cleaned the bathroom and washed and rehung our towels and have a light load in the dryer now. I will check out the books on my Kindle, and then probably take another walk. The hiking shoes (from Lands End) seem to be doing wonders on an ankle that has been troubling me.
DH asked for pizza tonight so I brought it up from the freezer and he will chop a salad when he gets home. He also cooked this morning - scrambled EB with LF cheese and a slice of Dave's toast for me and a fruit bowl. Since it was a big breakfast and a bit later than usual, I just drank a Premier Protein Shake for my lunch. If I need something later, I'll have some fruit. DH brought home a bag of Clementine's which I love! We also have red grapes......
Off to check my Kindle and then go for another walk!

Sue that's the thing. The part needs to be ordered and I'm just praying that COVID doesn't delay it. She will call Carl when it's ready. She couldn't give him a day or time. I am going 'bonkers' as I feel like a fish out of water. When Carl came home, we had a cup of coffee, sat and chatted for a bit and then walked LuLa. We just came back and we are going to have an early supper. We are both hungry for the chili I also love Clementine's. Need to see if Hannaford has any when we finally get to shop. I also need more grapes and honey crisp apples. I have a few of each, but when the stash starts to get low I panic LOL. Those are my 'to go to' treats. If I don't get back online, see y'all tomorrow. Judy hope all is well.

Hey everyone,
I don't know where this day went but it just flew by. I had a fairly busy workday and yes, Sue, I am working home until at least June 2021. We received word the other day. I am so relieved as I feel I can get just as much done here. The rationale I know is that we are succeeding very well keeping nearly 2000 students virus free so why introduce 400 staff members into the mix? I agree.
I picked up my car last night. It looks brand spanking new! Beautiful job and well worth it. He also touched up a spot where I had been dinged very lightly in the front. He's a very respectable business man but he started to get political so I was glad to nip out the door!
Oh, a tip I learned from Verizon and others in the know is to decline accept any updates on a cellphone that is over two years old. . That often causes the phones to shut off requiring a new one- It's planned obsolescence. I hate that. Just a tip I learned and I've heard from several others in the know. So, thought I would pass that on to all of you. We still pay for two landlines - here and at the Cape but I see that changing. They are bundled with wi-fi and our cable but in the future I am sure we will go to strictly cells. I do worry about being incommunicado, though. It's a generational thing, I am sure.
I cooked a pork loin roast in the instant pot, but it came out too dry for my liking. So, I decided to cut it up for a stir fry dinner with shredded carrots, bean sprouts, onions, celery, sugar snap peas, etc. and soy sauce/gravy mix to have over brown rice. DH just called craving a salad. I'll give him one of those, too!
Join me in the love for Simon and Garfunkel? They are one of my favorites. Paul Simon is a genius songwriter, I think.
Have a good night and a peaceful night.
Stay well all!

I meant to add - Pam, so glad you give a positive review on Daisy Jones and the Six. I am enjoying reading it and I think I'd love to hear it in the different voices.

Judy that is great that you can continue to work from home. I so agree with your reasoning of not adding those numbers to the mix. Carl heard from the 'phone fit it gal' and unfortunately I'll be without a phone for up to 7 days. She ordered the part and will call when it's one and done. I appreciate the fact that she got back to Carl today Time to shut down.

Good evening all,
Well I ended up doing nothing all day. I don't know if it's this morning's headache, worry over the camp or election fatigue, but I decided to just go with the flow. Dinner will be easy and I will plan for an early bedtime.
Mike (yard guy) called and we have more pictures of the damaged roof and it is much worse than we thought. We have decided to just have it replaced with metal instead of worrying about shingles. Mike is doing the same on his house and gave us the name of his roofing contractor and they are going to send us an estimate. Mike put the tarp up and will go back in a few days, remove the tarp, put tar paper down and then put the tarp back. That should keep things nice and dry until we can get a new roof. No telling how long it will take the insurance adjuster to get to us.
Judy - Thanks for the tip about not doing updates to the OS. Unfortunately, some apps will stop working unless you update. Also, if you don't update you miss out on enhanced security features. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Time to get dinner going!
