moonriver, Denise. Your Lebanese meal sounds delicious. I am lucky to have my own Lebanese chef ๐จโ๐ณ. I hope work is not too crazy.

Thanks for the start, Chele. Is your new avatar a pumpkin patch? I woke up a couple of times during the night and thought about checking election status online but didn't do it. Glad I didn't waste my time since it's far from over and things haven't changed for several hours. Still not giving up hope, however. We are such a divided nation right now and I wonder if anything can bring us back together. I saw our first Northern Flicker this morning near the feeder. We do have a red-bellied woodpecker that we have been seeing quite frequently, but otherwise lots of house finches and chickadees with a few nuthatches.
Linda, that phrase was used in The Handmaid's Tale as well, so I wonder if it originated with Margaret Atwood. Did Bob stay up all night? I had a feeling he wouldn't be able to stay away from the coverage. I hope you enjoyed your leisurely bath. How's the mask making going?
Probably a good plan to move your ortho appointment, Becky, in light of all the uncertainty. How do you feel today?I guess you saw that Trump declared at 2 a.m. that he had won. He just couldn't help himself.
Kathy, I checked the Eta track this morning and I think you're right that it's on track for South FL. It looks like it will "just" be a TS, but the last 2 hurricanes that have hit the Gulf Coast have intensified before making landfall. I think this would set a record for most named storms and most storms to hit the US. But then it's 2020.
The fattoush salad looks like something I would like, Denise. We don't have a close Lebanese or even Mediterranean restaurant. Hope things are not too crazy there. We're still anxiously awaiting results from your area.
Liz, I hope there's not any post-election insanity there. How is the DOH visit going?
Busy morning here. Load of laundry, cooked ground turkey for Arya, reconnected the hoses and watered all the outside plants, watered the salad containers, and got a bunch of cardboard broken down to drop at the recycling center tomorrow on my way to Osteo. We have yet another cool morning but we're getting into the 60s today and 70s by the weekend. Picking up CSA order this afternoon. That may become a thing of the past because we are thinking of trying Misfits Market, which is kind of an online CSA that delivers via UPS or FedEx. My kale, carrots, and turnips are also looking good and I'm going start some sweet potato slips this weekend when I clean summer plants out of containers.

Chele, thanks for the start. No sleep and anxiety ridden for sure. Sure would've saved us all a lot of stress if those states had allowed early counting of the mail in ballots like Florida did. Not happy with Florida's result, but at least it was quick. Karen, I'm hoping Eta is "just" a tropical storm and hoping it stays south of us. I don't think I've ever seen a flicker. That's fun that you're getting a lot of activity at the bird feeder. Linda, my dad was fond of that phrase, so I was familiar with it before The Handmaid's Tale. Fun trivia on the Harvard songs. I'm avoiding the news for now too.
Thought I'd posted this, but it was just sitting here!

Thanks for the start Chele.
Karen I don't think anyone can bring us back together. Today has been a tough day with my knees.I always thought yesterday was called Election Day not election week.
Kathy I don't know why the other states couldn't count their votes like FL. I realize you aren't happy with the way FL went.Who knows how long it will take for them to declare a winner with all the legal challenges going on.I don't blame them for challenging PA.It shouldn't take that long to count ballots.
I'm sure Biden will win in the end since he almost has enough electoral votes already.

Linda, thanks for the explanation on the phrase. I didn't realize it went back so far. The Handmaid's Tale was the first time I had heard it. I wish AZ would go ahead and finish up posting results. Biden just needs it and NV to get to 270. I hope Bob has relaxed a little. I heard that CNN called AZ for Biden and Trump pitched a fit so they took it back. You had a lot on your ballot. I think we only had 6 races on ours. We don't do too many propositions in TN for some reason. I can't believe McSally is so close to Kelly. I thought she was so unpopular that it would be a blowout. Do you think legalizing marijuana has a shot there? Not only are the news people talking non-stop but they are repeating the same things. We're done with the news for the day and are watching something on Netflix.
Nice avatar, Kathy. Is that in your neighborhood? You're about as happy with FL's result as we are with TN's. Biden did get 36% of the vote here, which is sizeable in such a red state. I'm sure most of that was Nashville and Memphis. I hope Eta will stay south of you as well. You've had enough rain so far this year.
Becky, sorry the knees are a continuing problem. The funny thing about PA is that the legislature that made the election rules is majority Republican. Some of the networks have switched from calling it "election day" to "election season". One state that still has a lot of results outstanding said they didn't have to have their results finalized until next Thursday. I guess we all need to be patient. If every state had the same rule that all ballots had to be in by a certain time on election day, it would be different. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening.
We finished watching Season 4 of The Good Fight, Chele. It's not as weird as Season 3 was. I may have to see if I can find episodes of The Good Wife streaming somewhere.
I had a sunny drive to pick up the CSA order. We got some good looking produce this week--bok choy, broccoli, sweet peppers, the largest turnips I've ever seen, and of course kale.
