No more Celebrex for me. Ever. Just was too sick ... I've proved it to myself and know I will never be able to take it. Makes me sad because I do need something to help deal with the joint and muscle pain. Without it I cant stand or walk. With it I am doubled over with cramps. For me it's not worth it and could be quite dangerous.
Haven't done anything for three days, dishes and garbage all over the place. I broke down and asked Susan to come clean the kitchen, not hiring her back, cant afford that anyway, but just to come for two days and catch me back up...
I cancelled my cable for TV today, saved a bunch right there. I watch very little TV anyway. Thinking of putting up an antenna so I can get the local channels anyway. That should do it for news and a few other things. And that's all I did today.
Turned off cold here. Hope the pipes dont freeze. There were two faucets that mac always wrapped, wont be wrapped now.
Jenny

Jenny I so wish they could find something to help you without the side effects. My sister who lives outside LA was telling me how much colder it has gotten there and whereas she loves it her husband does not but instead of dressing warmer turned on the heat and set the thermostat to 74! Blew my mind as even when it’s below zero here we set ours for 67 or 68 at the most.

My blessing today is a very good Dr appointment yesterday!!
My Dr appointment went very good yesterday, though he doesn't mention my weight ever, he did ask if I was trying to lose weight, told him yes and he was pleased with the results. 12lbs so far and it is staying off. rest of the errands were scattered all over the area and there is last minute road work being done all over the place. Grocery store?? Nope didn't get there. I will and even though both DD and DGS have offered I am determined to make it there myself. Just takes me awhile to do it. I have some new masks, darker colors for this time of year. I washed them this morning. so will be all set when the cooler temps arrive as they will in next few days.
Had to get up early as the windshield guy is coming today for my DGSs car. DGS has mine and is going to take it through the car wash for me. The deal is I will pay the co pay for his windshield and he will keep my car clean this winter, which should be easy as I don't go out much. Also will pick me up groceries here and there when I need him to. I don't drive on winter roads. When they are clear I get out. He lives near me so he says no problem.
Jenny, I am sure you can find some family member to wrap those couple pipes. Just need to ask. I had to learn to ASK. It is not easy but when I do I can see my family is glad to help. thank goodness, I have a basement so I don't have to wrap pipes, If you let the water just trickle a little when the temps drop it will be fine. We used to do that in Ga when the temps dropped over night now and then. My outside faucets are called freeze free and they are. They are different than a regular outside faucet. Have an extra smaller pipe that is inside the regular pipe. that runs to the basement. A devil if you have to have work done on them.
Oh boy at 74 I would be roasting but then my house is well insulated and don't lose heat out the roof. Have triple pain windows as well as storm windows Which helps if it is very windy which it is a lot here all the time.
Calli will be confused all day as I am up very early. She wanted in the window sill already and it is a bit chilly yet but he rules the house. Wonder what she will do when we can't do that. which will be soon. I will have to talk to her more!! Which I don't do much of. Never have but guess I can learn to. My Dr is worried we won't have much snow this winter he does cross country skiing and also down hill skiing. May have to take a vacation this winter to get that done. My next appointment is April. I like the snow and have learned when to go out and when to stay inside.

My very favorite Comfort foods. Lasagna !! A big hot bubbly dish right out of the oven, House smells so good and everyone ready to eat!! We never had lasagna at home. My Grandma on Dad's side died before my Mom could learn to make many Italian dishes. But as a young wife and mother, my best friend's Mom taught me how and she made her own noodles. I don't do that but it is fun to make my favorite dish Italian dish. small side salad and basket of wonderful warm garlic bread.

Another warm day in store. The weather forecaster said this morning that we are to have a mild winter. OK by me. I don't like winter.
I am having another cuppa and then I will get on the treadmill for my quarter mile. Going to Bill's for lunch and Rumicub. I need to stop at the Dollar store for some things. Maybe I will, maybe I won't. I had a rough night last night then an ordeal with one of my pills this morning so my throat is sore from that.
Jenny, surely the doctor can find something you can take.
Connie, I am not much for Italian food. Had a friend, actually son's friend that loved to cook Italian food. He died at age 60. He had retired from the military and had spent several years in Italy.
Sandy, I'm glad you jumped in this morning.
Well I start PT next Monday. Hope to get some relief.
Gotta get with it. Have a great day all.

Connie: I have an OLD WW recipe for crock pot lasagna which is terrific! Would you like me to post it? Not sure what the points would be now a days but I'm sure it would be a lot better than regular lasagna and as I said, it is delicious. It has zucchini in it to give us some good stuff along with the bad. I think I will look at it for my shopping day tomorrow.
Jenny: We missed you and were worried but glad to have you here again. I'm soooo sorry you are having probs. Jim is having hernia probs...Stomach ache every time he eats anything. Not sure what to do about it except take him to the E/R. And, of course he refuses to go.
See you all later for tuck-in.
Praying for Doggie Blessings Kathie

Hi Ladies!
Another beautiful day here in CO. Yesterday's snow will just be a memory today. Yesterday did my CU run and realized that I need to go back and get some $$$, also cleaned my bathroom just one more to do, also found my couch, the top of the dining table (yes I do have one), and my kitchen countertops! WOW forgot I had those. Today my goal is to clean the other bathroom, and go back to the CU to pick up some $$$ (as I said earlier), pick up some gc's and cut out a bd card or two. My blessing for today is: having all of you as friends. Although I don't post often, I do read what everyone is up to You may think your day or life is boring, but it isn't, but as I often say, my life may not be a reality show (if it were it would be cancelled immediately), but it's my life and I wouldn't trade it for another.
Cat, I miss you.
Doris, I hope you're starting to feel better everyday.
Lucy, sorry you keep losing your post.
Jenny, sorry the Celebrex didn't work for you. I hope your doctor will be able to find something that will work for you. Do ask for help.
Sandy, 74! That's w a y to warm/hot for me 70-72 at the warmest and that's when I get the chills, but it's just for a very short period of time.
Connie, glad your Dr. appointment went well.
Kathie, the blankets have been wonderful these cold nights.
Have a wonderful day, and may you all see something that happens through the day that makes you smile and makes your heart overflow with love. Remember, it doesn't have to be anything big or planned, usually the little spontaneous events will bring us the greatest joy.
Family Blessings, Linda

Kathie, I have that recipe too I am glad I have kept a lot of the old recipes not as many weird things in them like the ones now, stuff I cannot even get around here. and I do make a vegetable lasagna also with zucchini, broccoli and cauliflower in it, of course bell peppers as well . but it has a cream sauce not a tomato one. My kiddo's all like the regular lasagna and I do share most of it. My problem is I have to give all the garlic bread away as well. Usually one piece of my reg lasagna is enough for me these days. Like the old WW said don't give up anything you really like just portion control.

Good morning!
Ooh, yum! Lasagna is a favorite. Lucy, love that start for the day! I make the fake lasagna, with regular noodles, tomato sauce, spices, and lean ground beef. Oh, and the cheese of course! This is the way my WW leader taught us to do it about 45 years ago! Jenny, praying for you to find something to help. And someone to help, as well. We are lucky here. Our winter temps seldom stay down below 30º longer than a day at a time, and keeping the tap on takes care of that. Sandy, I'm with you! Our thermostat is set on 68 during the winter. Connie, Calli has a fur coat so might be able to enjoy the window when you don't! Lucy, Yikes! Having a pill get stuck going down is awful! Hope it's starting to feel a little better. Kathie, thanks for our blankets! Linda, would you like to find my furniture? I need to look for it pretty soon. Sigh...
So far, I've made a loaf of bread in the machine (which will be ready to take out soon) and finished our daily laundry. I use yeast in the machine, and use the sourdough starter for rolls. I don't really like the texture of the enriched doughs in the machine. I don't know why, but it is what it is.
I have ordered the turkey breast I want to cook for Thanksgiving, and we'll pick it up from Walmart tomorrow morning. My neighbor has a freezer and says I can put it in there until I am ready to cook it. I think I do want to get a little freezer for us, but right now isn't a good time to go out shopping and I need to see if I can manage the door. 🙁 My physical limitations really frustrate me sometimes.
I think my chores for the day are done, so I'll just sit back and watch the temp drop. It was 71º when we got up. and it is 48º now. It is to go up a little bit, and then drop into the 30s tonight. We'll see.
I want to finish my jigsaw today. I have some holiday puzzles I think I'd like to work on, and I want to work one before Thanksgiving.
Hugs! Diane

Calli can only sit on the window sill when the window is open and not doing that below 65°. ( when she was a little kitten she could but needs more room now. The breeze is too cold then.

Hello, everyone!
Jenny, with all you've been through, it's no wonder you will refuse Celebrex from now on. Sometimes pharmacists have a brand that is "almost" the same. If you could just find out the name of that ingredient that bothers you, maybe you could still find something that will work.
Mmm. Lasagna. I've only made it from "scratch" two or three times. I have (or had) a recipe for a meatless lasagna prepared with whole wheat noodles. It was so good we didn't miss the meat. Nice that the food people developed a lasagna noodle that could be added to the baking dish without pre-boiling. Usually, we buy the frozen Stouffer's Lasagna and bake it.
This morning, the physical therapist told me to stop berating myself for the knee replacement not being pain-free. She told me that with just a week out of surgery, I was doing really well. I will continue to strengthen the thigh and calf muscles aiming for not feeling any pain when PT ends.
Lucy, I had a great time browsing the New Jersey Outdoor Adventures' Van Life Tour videos on Youtube. Thought you might like to take a look as well. Patrick is the host. In the August 5, 2020, episode, Christine, an experienced hiker and camper, gives a tour of her 2020 Airstream Interstate Nineteen 19' Mercedes Benz Sprinter (smallest Sprinter) 2500 converted camper van in which she lives full time. She is a master storage queen and provides excellent tips for storage solutions for the camping lifestyle, especially in a small camper van. The "pods" are interesting . . . difficult to explain; but you'll know it when you see it!
BBL! ~~Molly

After several days of record temperatures 70+ we are now under a tornado watch and severe thunderstorms. My blessing for today are mail carriers. They go out in any kind of weather. I did a load of laundry and straightened the kitchen.
