This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here.

Good morning friends!
Jill - Aww. Sending good thoughts that your DD will be able to see her way through this breakup and find her way on to better things. I'm not sure about the last time for deviled eggs, but that picnic meet up with DD and DSIL might well have been out last eggstravaganza We actually did the chicken drumsticks without buffalo last night, I gave DH the option, and he chose w/o. They were well seasoned though and a nice treat. Hoping today is a better day at school. I know "just okay" isn't the worst, but it's sure feels better to come home after a day with lots of positives.
Janet - I'm sorry to hear that your area is going backwards with shutdown activity. I know that makes it harder on you. I think you're very much not alone in that, as a lot of areas seem to be doing the same. Last Thursday was the last day of in person school until after New Years - so they're already back to 100% online.
RobinMD - Sending best wishes for the staff meeting and whatever changes are coming down the pike for you as well. And farm fresh eggs? Yummm!!
Susie - Awww. I'm so glad you got spend that time with DF. I'm sure it was lovely for both of you. How fun!
Jana - I hope you're feeling some better today and the soreness is finding it's way out of your body. I can't think of much worse than falling on brick & concrete. Ouch, ouch, ouch!
Not much happening here today. It's cold here again this morning (mid 30s), I woke up to 62 inside the house, so not quite to the point where I'll fire up the heat. Haha. I can generally hang until it hits about 58. At that point, I need some heat on. I've got a few things to do around the house, and I'll be spending some time with my volunteer gig. We're had a lot of changes with the Admin team recently, so a little more work have fallen on some of us veteran admins. It's all good though, as the member activity generally slows down a little this time of year.
I'm seasoning up some sirloin tip roast that I got on sale Friday and plopping it into the crockpot to make barbacoa again. We really enjoyed it the last time. Last night I listed out a bunch of options for supper tonight and that's the one that DH chose. This time he might have his with some pork rinds on the side for more of a "nacho" style meal. I'll probably just stick with my burrito bowl style.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~If you can't stop thinking about it, don't stop working for it!
Good morning everyone.
Yes the pup that knocked me down on Sunday is the same one with the digging issues. Both dogs are solid muscle. My boy is 75 lbs and the baby girl (problem child) is now 65 lbs. I am still sore this morning but 90% of the soreness is in my left wrist. I think just falling and trying to catch myself and all my weight going to that wrist is the culprit. My left arm and knee really took the brunt of the fall.
Pop was pretty intoxicated when I got home yesterday around 4 p.m. I suspect with the time change he has started drinking around 1 p.m. now instead of 2 and my fear is when we go back he will just continue that trend. We go back in February for liver scans. He will go every 6 months now.
Not a whole lot on my agenda. I am in the office by myself today and I am HOPING I can finish up with the regulatory procedures that I have been working on for months. Fingers crossed.
I am really struggling with motivation and trying to remain positive. One day at a time, right?
Jill I hope your DD stays broken up this time. I know it is hard to watch our girls make bad choices.
Waving to everyone.
Good Morning...I was up late and did not sleep well - ugh! I am off to my clubhouse gym this morning just to ride the bike. Usually when I go there is no one else there - hope that is the case this morning. Then I will see if DD wants to take a quick walk with her doggie. I need to make a run to Walmart, so hope to do that early before many people get there too. I have bridge at 1:00 and the 4 of us will no doubt be the only ones in the clubhouse also. Tonight is my book club at 7:00 --outside around a fire pit, but I will probably FREEZE. I can assure you, I will not be there long - lol!
Lora - you always have such yummy things cooking...made me think that while I am doing things today, I should have my crock pot or insta pot going!
Jana - so sorry about your left wrist...you are right-handed, correct? Hope you get a lot accomplished while you are alone in the office. I guess the short days and it getting dark earlier only makes it worse for your Pops...you have a real challenge with him, but what can you do. Always remember that you are giving him a great home and taking care of him as well as he will allow.
OK - off to the gym
Jana - Do you have some kind support device, like an Ace or Futuro neoprene wrist support that might help? Maybe giving your wrist a little stabilizing support might make it feel a bit better. Susie - book club around the firepit sounds fun to me. Maybe a decaf or a hot chocolate in a travel mug might be a nice addition as well. I love my crockpot and my IP, but cold weather always just seems like crockpot weather to me - and I love smelling the delicious aromas cooking all day. That just makes it feel a little more cozy and homey to me.
Hi Everyone, Well, no official notice about us closing the center as of yet. Our family worker spoke with our senior director and as of yet we havent had any cases of Covid in our school and we are following the guidelines as far as masks,social distancing and cleaning etc we may be staying open. We have 3 classes that are virtual and 2 that are face to face. If we do stay open it will be easier to manage the virtual because I never received the hotspot so would run out of data pretty quick if I had to depend on my tablet the whole time. Jana, hope you feel less sore today. I went to my primary doctor this afternoon. I did get the shingles vaccine and the technician looked up my insurance and said it was covered. I never did get around to calling about it myself yesterday or today. So my left arm is sore but doesn't hurt tho. I dont know if it would get worse so took some tylenol just to be sure. She was pleased with my lab work. My weight is still pretty much the same though. I am trying to stop my teaching partner to stop bringing me lunch from the kitchen because I have already. I explained that to her but she persists in bringing it so I just eat a little bit and toss it. I wish she'd persist about doing her work. I have asked her to work on this emergency list for the virtual teaching and have asked her and told her we need it to be done. Today she says that I am always at the computer. I told her that I can use the other computer in the conferrnce room if she needs to use this computer. I have done a lot of it myself because its not getting done by her. I didnt want to have to do it so it makes me mad at her. Susie, hope you survived the book club by the fire..
It was pretty chilly, but actually felt "crisp" and I was really bundled up - lol! The meeting ended pretty early however, because we were cold. We also all agreed that this was the last outdoor meeting ...so next month we will meet through zoom.
Janet - awesome that your shingles vaccine was covered by your insurance! Sure wish you could get more help from your work partner.
