Good morning friends. I slept well, just not that long. More than likely had to do with taking it easy and getting in a lot of cat naps along the say. I did wake up refreshed, so for that I'm most grateful. Also I'm feeling a little better.....I'll take it.
I shall plan my day according to what I feel I can handle. The rest of the 'stuff' to be done can be on a back burner.
Enjoy your day and I'll CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Hump Day!! Thanks, Ann, for getting the Cafe opened this morning. I also slept well and enjoyed every minute of it! I still woke a little after 6, which seems to be my normal time, so I'll take it.
I think I wrote about everything (and then some) in my life yesterday afternoon <LOL> so don't have much news for today. I had yogurt 'n berries w/F1 for breakfast. I have plenty of lunch choices today since I had planned ahead in case I had to take lunches to school. DH brought me home a bag of already cut up romaine, which I took half of Monday and probably should finish up today. Last night's comfort food supper of turkey/gravy/mashed potatoes was great only I substituted corn/limas for the vegetable. I have enough left over for another meal - another supper or a couple of lunches?
I plan on a quiet day today. We have a Large Group meeting for my Head Start class at 10 a.m. that I plan on joining via Zoom. Then the rest of the day is mine. I have some computer work that I need to catch up on. I don't want to fall too far behind, in case I get called in to school unexpectedly?
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue great idea to 'keep up' so that you don't fall too behind should you get called into work. Loved your 'comfort food supper' and best part of that is leftovers Happy to say that I'm still feeling better. Deciding whether or not I'm going to venture out. I'll decide later on. My day is planned and tracked. Had peanut butter on a honeycrisp apple and a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, lunch will be lo chili and for supper it's pork chops, and not sure of the sides...either rice and a veggie or baked beans. Carl will do the chops on the grille. Oh and of course, SF applesauce LOL. Will CBL.....

Hey all,
It's bright and sunny but COLD today in the 20s today - high will be 34. As long as the sun shining, I don't mind the cold much at all.
Sue, great to hear about your re-entry into school and even better that you will be able to stay on the payroll and work from home. That is great and the best solution. It's clear that you are a very valued employee and glad you had a good meeting with the Principal. I agree with Pam's thoughts that why furlough you when it is government either way? :-) You sounded very upbeat describing your work and relationships with your co-workers. I'm so happy for you.
Pam, thanks for your advice on the tiredness. I slept nearly an hour yesterday which I needed but it did impact my ability to fall asleep last night I was up till midnight. So, I don't want to get into a pattern like that as I don't think I slept great overall. Catnaps are the way to go for me. Today I see my PCP for my annual exam and it's good timing to get a checkup. All my bloodwork came out in the normal range except Vitamin D - seems we are all having to have the prescription D lately. I am on it for a few months. I agree with Sue, Pam. You and your DH are wonderful grandparents. Lucky kiddos and I am glad they are nearby.
Ann, I didn't like hearing about your dizzy spells. How are you doing now? Your Carl is a real keeper with all the helpful things he does. I think we are all very lucky with the spouses we have. They are all true partners and have our good interests in mind all the time. I count my blessings to have a good man in my life. So much of it is just good luck, I think, of choosing the right guy back in the time when judgements weren't necessarily based on what qualities we love today! :-)
Breakfast was two soft boiled eggs and an English muffin. I have been struggling with food and eating too many salty snacks. I don't want to eliminate them altogether but I have to find a way not to reach for them so often. I have been keeping a snack journal - in addition to regular tracking - where I jot down the time, what snack I reached for, how I was feeling at the time, etc. I want to see if I can detect a pattern but so far, I cannot come up with a reason other than "because it's there and sounds good." It's not usually out of sadness or anger or stress, but maybe comfort and enjoyment when working, etc. No clear patterns emerging yet in my scientific study of myself! ha ha I am not usually a late night eater, but last night I went for the pretzels way too late. I am open to all and any ideas and would love all your thoughts because you three have "best practices" in weight loss and maintenance down pat!
Have a great day all

Good morning all!
It's another beautiful, sunny, cool fall day here. It was 43 when Debbie and I walked at 6:45, early to accommodate our work schedule. I enjoyed a boiled egg and yogurt, blueberries and seeds for breakfast. Lunch will be a sandwich and a bowl of gazpacho. Dinner is bbq chicken drumsticks, green beans with new potatoes and a salad. We also have pinto beans leftover from last night, but that doesn't interest me much, though I may have a little.
DH and I have done some online Christmas shopping this morning to have shipped to our MI kids. We wanted to get that done first, since you never know how much shipping may be slowed due to CV in the next few weeks. We also got Madison's birthday done since that's 2 days after Christmas. DH is an early Christmas shopper and I am a procrastinator par excellence, so there is always some friction involved in the process. I'm glad it's done!
Now on to working my way through my To Do list of household chores. I hope y'all have a fantastic day!

Amen to that way of thinking, Judy. Yes we have all scored big time with the men we chose as soul mates and partners. I'd be lost without Carl for sure. Judy thank you for your concern. As the morning went on, I felt better and better. No more dizzy spells and I pray they don't return! I'll keep an eye out and will rest and do what I'm able. LOL Judy good luck with the snack journal. I am an emotional snacker. I snack when I'm happy sad angry ticked off and just for the he!! of it! I think that pretty much covers my snacking. How I deal with it? I allow myself snacks...I try to balance them out (especially the carb snacks) with fruit or hummus or a piece of cheese. At least that I way I'm getting in protein and fruits/veggies instead of say the crackers pepperoni and the like. I always have nuts and good dark chocolate on hand although I don't have those every day. I treat those as an occasional treat. Then again....I DO have to have Carl HIDE THE GOODIES when I am feeling out of control. With you it was the pretzels...with me it was the cheese popcorn LOL....I just needed that extra sodium boost I guess...something in that darn New England air. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it Your meals sound great, Pam. Wise that you have gotten your online shopping done. I never really thought of shipping being delayed due to COVID...thanks for the reminder. I took a short hood walk. Loved the cold air on my face with the warmth and brightness of the sun. It was perfect and I felt so grateful being able to walk along side Carl and LuLa. We came home and bathed her paws. I should do the same to mine LOL. The corn is feeling better. Waving...and will CBL

Hi All ~ This day is clicking right along! I've gotten a lot done. I made myself a bowl of salad with chopped lean ham and Light Cream Caesar dressing. I shredded up some cooked chicken breasts and added some Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce for tonight and will be serving it with mac 'n cheese that DH brought home. Another comfort food meal!!
I was really enjoying my Zoom meeting for school, when my camera suddenly went off and instead of my face, it put up my profile picture (which is OK too but they couldn't see my expressions). I have no idea what happened. I have had this computer for several years but never used the camera until yesterday - when I was pleasantly amazed that it worked!! So I Zoomed with Taylor yesterday and then started with the meeting this morning - then it conked out! Anyone have any ideas? I have sent a text to my neighbor who is an IT for the schools and he'll probably get back to me when he's off. If it's something as simple as a setting or driver update, I'll let him take care of it; but otherwise I'll live without it. I have my Zoom account on my Kindle Fire tablet (which is much newer) so I can use that instead. I still got to listen to the meeting and once when Taylor asked me something and I answered she could 'hear' me!
Ann ~ I have to absolutely say "AMEN" to our great choice in men! I, like you, don't know what I'd do without mine! He can aggravate me more than any other living person, but I guess that's normal. I am absolutely certain I can aggravate him the same way, but he is so much kinder about it :-) Hope your foot feels better!!
Judy ~ I think you are so smart to keep a snack journal. Sometimes it just takes looking at where we've been to correct our course. If I don't write it down, I can ignore it - so I tend to write EVERYTHING down! I am still losing, however slowly!
Pam ~ Congratulations on getting Christmas shopping done - especially the ones that have to 'travel'. Did you order things sent to your house? and then you're going to wrap them and ship them out? I was curious if you could order them sent directly to the recipient?? But who would wrap them? I have started some Christmas shopping (for DH) about half online and half in store (before we got shut down again).
Speaking of which ..... despite so many Michiganders whining and complaining about being asked to be responsible for three weeks, we are treating this much like a shut-down (though it isn't). We're just being asked to stay home whenever possible. I think that is perfectly reasonable, especially for those of us who don't want to get sick (or worse). I'll learn more about this on the news this afternoon.
I think it is time for me to spend sometime in my book. I got busy this week and time got away from me.
Stay safe .....

Sue my foot is feeling much better. I still want to soak it, but that will happen after supper when I can sit and relax with my kindle Oh I hear you on how at times men folk can get under your skin. I know that Carl has more patience than I do. I took after my father on that trait LOL. Sorry but I am clueless with anything technical. Heck, I couldn't even get the zoom thing to work on my android phone with weight watchers. I hope you get it straightened out. Also a huge fan of Sweet Baby Ray BBQ sauce. We also have a curfew in MA and I'm all for it. It really doesn't bother me as I am not out and about during those hours. I'm basically a homebody at heart. That trait I did get from my mom LOL...... Carl had to go to Hobby Lobby to get some leather to make a belt so I went with him. We also stopped at Market Basket where I scored toilet paper AND paper towels AND Clorox wipes. I wanted to dance a jib in the aisle, but controlled myself LOL. Now I'm all set for awhile, but will keep my eyes peeled for those 'hot items' again. Time to have a coffee before we walk miss LuLa. I feel so much better.........and for that I am most grateful!

Hi Sue,
How long were you talking on the Zoom? I have a business account so even if I schedule an hour, it goes on indefinitely, but the free zoom accounts shut off the session after 40 minutes. That may have been it. Not sure why your face disappeared and your profile showed up on the school version.

Hi again,
I am back from my doctor's appointment. Did I tell you that for the second time in 5 years, I had a primary care retire on us? :-( I need to pick younger docs. lol I decided to sign up again with his PA who I love and she works under another doctor but she will be our primary care. DH did not sign up on time though I hounded him about it and now she is full. Back to that thought about how our DHs aggravate us. LOL But our PA said that she will try to get him switched to her so that he does not have to find his own new doc.
I rode the elevator down at the hospital from the 6th floor with a woman who works in cardiology. She told me COVID is all over and she's getting more nervous about it. I was a little upset to see people sitting around the large beautiful atrium eating, but then I have not been in a restaurant since COVID started so I am pretty sheltered. Even though they were spaced out, seeing them without masks sort of freaked me out. But, hey, hospital workers need breaks and coffee and they need to eat! I did have a good conversation with Amanda, my PA. She and I talked about weight issues - I brought it up. She suggested more activity and bundling up for walks. I know she is right!!! I see Pam's progress with dedicated walking and we all know Ann is a walking machine, too. :-)
Pam, that was smart to shop early. I just talked to DD as she is about to go on a call with the CA Bar investigative attorney. We drifted into the topic of Christmas for the kids and they would love some "activities" they can do when things calm down like music, art, indoor rock climbing and things like that. Tae Kwan Do for the little guy--they need some enrichment and physical things. I also asked for their request for a couple toys and other essentials - clothes.
Ann, thank you for the snacking ideas. I should have my DH hide the snacks. My doctor suggested not bringing them home since I find any and all excuse (like you said Ann) to snack. Happy, bored and just because it is there waiting in a cupboard. lol The doc said that I'd only have to avoid temptation one time - in the store! She's right.
I am off to walk the dogs again before dark. Have a good night ladies. Did anyone watch the new show that is being hyped now - Big Sky?

Judy ~ Thanks for the tip about the 40 minute limit. I texted my neighbor (the IT guy) and he came over after work and got my computer and took it to his house to look at it. When he brought it back, he said that it worked fine for him. He hooked it up and did a Zoom call and the camera and microphone both worked. ? He said maybe being powered off "fixed" it but I had done that several times throughout the afternoon. No idea what happened. But I wonder if I am participating on a meeting initiated by someone else if that 40 minute rule applies?? I'm not going to pay for it since I won't use it that much. But it has been checked over and returned to me and life is good. I'll try it again tomorrow morning. Time to start supper....

LOL to winner winner chicken dinner, Judy. Glad you enjoyed. I would have been freaked out seeing people together maskless. Then again, I haven't been out to eat since Carl's bday which was last February! Just color me yellow for chicken little! That is awesome that the PA is going to see if she can get your DH as a patient. Yup, I hear you LOUD and CLEAR on that. Happy that you had your computer looked at. Whenever I have a problem I call Carl and he comes in sits down and voila...fixed. Then he looks at me and smiles. He is my IT guy for a lot for a lot of issues. Then again, it's hardly ever the computer..it's the 'operator' (me) that needs fixing! Whatever. When it comes to electronics I am literally living under a rock. Our supper was delish....now going to shut down the desktop and sit and read a bit. Carl is busy doing leather work. Sweet dreams all..... Before I go...we also had a leader that said 'if snacks call your name...then CHANGE your name' LOL....I often think of that one as well. psst....it has never worked for me
