Good morning friends. Again got a good sleep and feel well rested. I was exhausted after shopping yesterday. Happy I don't have to face a store anytime soon. Black Friday,...with or without COVID keeps me home! NOt a fan of crowds at all.
Pam sounds like you had a fun time of it with the games Praying that DD3's SIL and BIL continue to improve. Enjoy your cooking!
Have a few odds and ends to get through today and then will play the rest of the day by ear.

Hey all,
Happy day before Thanksgiving - a day when we are usually mired in either travel or prep for the celebration. Not so this year...I've been scurrying around doing laundry, running the dishwasher, paying bills and making lists since I plan to leave by 1 or so to get to the Cape to pick up the meals for tomorrow. We'll Facetime or Zoom with the kids. Ann, your Pizza gadget would do the trick today because traditionally, we have pizza the night before Thanksgiving. I am just like you - all about the crust. I hate soggy crusts and love the dry crispy ones on the "thinny thins." :-) I have never liked the deep dish style though I know many do. Love the NY thin crusts! :-) I looked at the steamer oven and will pass. lol It's expensive and we are already getting a commercial grade larger oven in the new house - a splurge we both want. I love the dual/fuel ovens (electric ovens and gas tops) and that is what I have now but our current version is smaller. Going all out for the 36" this time with the large pasta burner in the middle. Can't wait. We've never bought a new home before and there's a lot of fun thought in it.
Pam, isn't it ironic that those pushing to gather wind up with C-19. I sure hope they continue to feel better. It's certainly nothing to take lightly as we all have seen. My DB and DSIL in Naples, FL opted not to travel north to be with their kids and grandkids. Too risky. I see two of my former co-workers vacationing without masks and in bars in the US Virgin Islands. Covid is rampant there...I just hope they don't get sick. I don't understand it.
I hope everyone has a peaceful and nice day tomorrow. Pam, so nice that your DD is arriving early to join you for fun and games tonight. You are the grandparents par excellence with Abby. She sounds so adorable. The game princess! :-) I unearthed two of DD's 1990 American Girl dolls to spiff up and give to DGD in CA. They were stored away in a bin and in good shape except that they have an awful smell - too long in plastic permeating their cloth bodies. I have them airing outside in the nude now. LOL I washed their outfits and plastic parts of their bodies and I am hoping the airing and maybe some Febreeze fabric spray will penetrate the stuffing. Any other ideas? They were sunbathing in the buff yesterday but no sun today!
I'll check in later. Have a great day all.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~ Happy Hump Day!! I went to bed early AND slept in this morning. I think that little emotional roller coaster ride yesterday caught up with me - plus I am sure the walking did me a world of good. When I went to my PCP, I was telling him about it and he concurred that it is very normal and that walking is the best way to handle it. He mentioned the lack of fresh air and open space - especially since before going back to work I was walking every single day!! By the time I walked, then I got a text from a friend out-of-state, showered and dressed I was feeling much better! I will need to be more mindful of that in the future. If the weather turns cold, I have plenty of warm clothes; and if it is snowy/icy I have plenty of boots. I just need to get myself up and out (which he mentioned is usually the toughest part). I got a great bill of health at my Annual Wellness Exam and brought home an order for my mammogram. While I was at the doctor's office, I noticed that they were playing Christmas music (which I haven't turned on as yet) and it made me smile, so I have that treat to look forward to tomorrow or the day after. I really DO like to celebrate Thanksgiving before moving right into the next holiday (especially this year when there seems to be so little to look forward to). Ann ~ I can only imagine how tired you must have been from all that shopping! But just think, it is all behind you now! Like you, I never, ever shop Black Friday and don't plan to start now. I am struggling with shopping at all since the numbers in Michigan continue to rise. I saw an email about returning to F2F January 11th but I'll believe it when I see it. Judy ~ Safe travels to you today. Thanks for the encouragement about the anxiety. I guess it is universal, but I spend so much time at home that it feels very personal to me. I am glad that today is better. I will remember to take one day at a time; and remember to be grateful for all that we have. Fortunately my DH is a great help with both of those. Pam ~ It sounds like you had so much fun playing games! I miss those days, as the last 'little one' who begged us to play games with her is now out-of-state doing her Masters program and planning her wedding next summer. Enjoy these days ... they really DO go way too fast!! Or as the song said "don't blink"..... I boxed up my CD's though I'm not sure I'm ready to part with them yet. I have enough stuff to fill a couple of bags, and I went by the Thrift Store yesterday and read their signs and they accept donations between 10 and 2 every day so I plan to drop off my stuff, grocery shop at Meijer (unless it is mobbed) and purchase a birthday card. That's about it for this trip out. I had yogurt 'n berries w/F1 for breakfast & a HB egg. I plan on veggie/bean soup for lunch. Tonight will be hot dog sliced up in baked beans, mac 'n cheese and green beans. That will empty all of the plasticware in my refrigerator and empty the space for the new food coming this afternoon. This has really sneaked up on us - this morning I reminded DH that he had a 3 o'clock appointment, and he gave me a blank look :-) Then I said turkey and he was surprised! BBL. Make a great day!!

Judy also googled those ovens and they are far too rich for our blood. We are happy with what we have. 'settled in' as my mom used to say LOL. Also not 'getting' why people continue to NOT follow and do what they are supposed to do re: COVID. Charcoal is good for getting smells out as well as baking soda and coffee grinds. Not sure if that would work being plastic...but worth a shot. I've never had luck with Fabreeze. Hope you find something that works. Sue your PCP made a lot of sense. Walking surely does it for me....I do housewalk, but there isn't anything better than being in the fresh air. Nice that you are emptying out the fridge in time for the turkey and all the trimmings. We are doing the same. I just have one container of soup left which I will have for lunch as soon as I finish posting. I have my IP loaded to turn on tonight with my veggie bean soup before bed and I've also made up a fresh batch of hummus. Phone calls are all done and I've completed all my 'odds and ends' Had to push myself and happy that I did. Now, the rest of the day is MINE and mine alone Love the ring to that one. We took a nice 2.7 hood walk. It's beautiful weather and perfect for a walk. I'll go again later on..... Time for that soup followed by a cut of coffee. Waving.....and will CBL I feel so blessed having you gals in my life. I thank you for being here.

Hi Gals ~ I am also thankful for all of you! I was mentally making up my "Gratitude List" for today and my DH was right at the top. I had to call him and tell him - noting that when the blues set in he seemed to really step up his game with being extra attentive and entertaining - and how much I appreciated it! Then I thought about you gals and how much you add to my every day not to mention all that I learn from you. So you were next on my list!! Thank you We are very blessed to have a PCP who doesn't reach for a prescription pad when we ask for his help. He has so many healthier remedies for so many common complaints. My walking out in the fresh air will definitely be a biggie!! I've got all my stuff ready and I had my (next to the last) cup of soup for lunch while I watched the noon news, and now I'm headed out to run my errands. I am especially looking forward to shopping for a birthday card for my VBF. BBL.

Hey all,
D&D and I arrived at the Cape about 45 minutes ago. No heat again! DH gets it going quickly but we can't figure out why it keeps shutting off. We keep it set about 60 degrees when we leave but it was actually colder in the house than outside when I got here. I have two portable space heaters going now. I also was going to use an old radiator style portable heater that was upstairs, but the plug is broken. DH is bringing a new plug! We will survive, but it does help to remind me why we really need new "digs" here. I get really sad when the reality of knocking this house down hits me. It's really going to happen and I am sure I will shed many tears since it is the only constant home I've had ALL my life since birth. Every single summer and many holidays and everyone who has meant so much in our lives - friends and relatives alike have spent time with us here. BUT, it is time to do the pretty piece of property justice. My aunt - aged 93 - told me that my parents would love that we doing this. No point in seeing it go into disrepair. I also acknowledge that it is causing me sadness too. Bittersweet.
I have an appointment at 4 to pick up our dinners for tomorrow - clam chowder, turkey and fixings and apple crisps. Can't wait. Tonight we will do pizza and salad.
Sue, your doctor sounds great. Mine said the same thing - more about my weight, but also for good mental health. She said "We've gotta get you walking - bundle up and go." :-) Glad that your DH and your PCP helped you out of the slump. Believe me, I am right there with you in the doldrums sometimes.
Ann, that steam ovens are way out of my price range, too especially for how little I would most likely use it. I love my gadgets but there's a limit. LOL We can still steam our veggies on top of the stove or in the microwave, right? :-)
Off to feed D&D - they dine early due to coyotes/coywolves. We'll walk a bit before I head out. Have a great night all. We watched Chevy Chase's Christmas Vacation last night. That always makes me smile!

Judy wrapping you up in a warm hug. I know leaving a home such as the one you grew up in won't be an easy feat. Your aunt is wise in telling you that your mom and dad would be happy. Focus on that warm thought.
LOL Judy that and A Christmas Story are my all time favorite Christmas movies. I have to dig those two out to watch LOL.....I get such a charge out of them.
Oh yes, there are always ways to steam veggies. I use the microwave a lot for veggies...come out very good and tasty. Stove top as well.
I did get out of my 'lazy comfort zone' and went for a final walk with Carl and LuLa. I am happy that I did as it lifted my spirits. Just watching LuLa sniff each piece of grass makes me smile.
I hope the space heaters keep you nice and toasty.
Time to shut down.....sweet dreams all and talk tomorrow.
((((((((((hugs)))))))))))
