WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

C113D7, 18 purple points, 3 grams added sugar (hot dog roll and Bolthouse dressing), 38.8 grams fiber, 67.5 grams protein, 1527 calories, 6170 steps.
PT then a lovely walk circling the community with my friend. It was especially nice since we bumped into several friends that we haven't seen in ages. Some from my dance classes and they're getting antsy. They said someone is approaching the community to allow small spread out classes. I doubt they'll go along because all the other activities will want to follow suit.
My puzzle board is really cool. It's at an almost vertical angle. What's weird is that the pieces stay on. Hopefully those aren't famous last words. I don't want to find them on the floor in the morning <g>
Happy Thanksgiving BFFs.

Happy Thanksgiving, friends! I’m grateful I found this group!
I am looking forward to pumpkin roll, pumpkin cheesecake, and apple pie. It definitely won’t be a low sugar day for me, nor will tomorrow. I’ll be back on track Saturday. I’m just amazed at the shift in my thinking about sugar. I’ve had to rethink some of my usual foods and recipes and find, like Nancy, that I’m adding nuts in place of what I’ve cut out. I have cashews, so that’s what I’ve been eating.
Nancy, your puzzle board sounds so cool! We worked on the puzzle yesterday for hours. DH is at it again right now. If the weather was nicer you could do your dancing outside, I’m guessing you have a pavilion or such. Maybe in the spring. I don’t think the community center is a good idea right now though. My senior numbers have gone way down in classes, and I’m glad people are being more cautious. I have one lady who keeps her mask on for class, and another who walks the track with her mask on.
Lori, it’s hard to get into the Christmas spirit this year for me. I’m not buying for any of my siblings or nieces/nephews, which takes a huge load off of shopping and wrapping.
Kathy, I’m hoping you have some help with food preparation today, and that you’re keeping it simple and everyone is supportive. What is your daughter doing for the holiday?

We made it at Boston Market by the skin of our teeth. The line went thru the store and outside for quite a way. We got there at 4:20 and they announced they were closing at 5. We made it to the counter at 4:55. Most everyone behind us was turned away. We almost had White Castle (across the street) for Thanksgiving. They also announced they were out of stuffing (bummer) but then brought out a new tray of it. Luckily the only desserts were apple and pumpkin pie. I was thinking hard about much more dangerous desserts. I stuck to my guns having half of everything which was delicious and totally satisfying. I don't feel the least but stuffed. Stayed clean the rest of the day as well. When she's good, she's very very good <g>. We'll leave it at that. Lori - nope, the puzzle was intact and remains so. I'm not sure what's keeping it up, but I'll take it. Grateful for all of you as well - more than you can imagine. Jane -- Where are you? ? Maybe visiting the kids? I hope so. It can't be an easy holiday for you. I've been thinking about you a lot. Jan - This is crazy. I started this on Sunday consuming on average 300 calories more than my normal. Each day since I'm down a half pound except for today when I was down a full lb. It's been an adventure stepping on the scale each morning.

Counting all of you among my blessings! Hope everyone is having a restful Thanksgiving. I am. DH and DSs made the bulk of the meal. I got in a long after meal nap.
Dd is at her boyfriend's house and with his family for Thanksgiving. I miss her! I will see her on Saturday. She's the only one who hasn't had COVID yet.
Jan - glad you are enjoying the puzzle.
Nancy- glad you got you meal under the wire!
Lori- hope you have a nice day.
Louise and Jane - sending you Thanksgiving blessings.
