This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here.

Happy Thanksgiving Morning Everyone - even though we may not be having our normal Thanksgiving Day - it is still wonderful to have food, homes, etc and be able to celebrate this traditional American holiday. I got a message from a friend in England (we say "across the pond" ) wishing us a happy and healthy holiday....loved it!
I hope you all have a wonderful day whether it is with family, pets, or whatever. I guess as a history teacher, I sometimes get choked up - we are so blessed. I miss a lot, but am still so thankful to be here.
I am smiling at the thought of:
Lora being with DD and her DH -- I know your food will be fabulous.
Jill surrounded by loved ones and the Christmas chairman taking charge - ha!
Jana heading to her DA's house and Pops just being happy ( Hopefully).
Janet cuddled with Cassie
RobinMD cuddled with "the boys" - ha - Oh Robin...thanks for the thoughts on my feeling sorry for myself...I was much better yesterday and am sure today will be awesome.
Blessings to RobinS, Amanda, Linda, Andi, Rosemary, Gail, Jennifer, and so many others who have been ROs over the years !!

Hi Everyone, Happy Thanksgiving!! Yep, will be cuddling with Cassie a lot today. Its supposed to stop raining later this afternoon so maybe will get out to take a walk around my development for a bit. I am almost finished one of the books that was in the box Jana sent. It is called Payback by Fern Michael's. I kind of think of the TV show Charlie's Angel's as I am reading this. Then I will have to see if I have any more books to read. I dont know how old my friend's stepson was when she married his his father. He is probably in his 30's now so maybe when he was a teenager maybe. I am betting tho that his mother has probably advised against being involved. I met his ex a few times in the past. I wonder if she received any of his past social security benefits also. I called my friend yesterday and she hasnt been transferred to a different floor as of yet. That is about it for now. Have a great day!

Good morning, Susie, sounds like your spirits have definitely lifted I hope you make lots of good memories today, in this "special" year that no one will ever forget. There are so many things that we will all look back on and talk about in years to come. Janet, enjoy your relaxing day! The sun came out here this morning and it is really nice and warm. I will take the dogs for a walk in the sunshine today and spend some time outside. Enjoy your walk and your Cassie-time! Lora, hope everyone made it safely to your house, and you have a great day! Jill, I'm looking forward to hearing about your day and the Christmas Chairman! Jana, safe travels, and have a great visit! I don't have any plans for the day, but I will definitely soak up some sun. ODD is cooking a small traditional meal for her and the BF. YDD went to a place on the Chesapeake Bay with her BF to get away for a couple of days. They are staying in a fairly remote place and enjoying the outdoors. We are staying super safe (YDD has a massage therapy business and wants to be careful for her customers), and ODD lives in town where covid is rapidly rising, and then there is me.... I am perfectly content to have this extra day off and just let myself relax! I am so thankful today, for the days ahead with renewed hope for myself after getting the refinance to go through, and for being able to stay here a few more years without being "rent poor". I am able to put a lot more into savings and my retirement account, so I feel like I can give up my Paramedic in the next year or two and be able to do ok. I can work in the office for a long time to come, especially if I don't get beat up on the ambulance every weekend! Anyway, I am also thankful for this group of friends that have now known me for about 9 years or so. I hope everyone has a great day, and many good days ahead RobinMD

Happy Thanksgiving to all my RO friends. Between work and other things, I find I am spending too much time on my computer, and I have been busy at work during the day, so not checking here too much. I will read back a few days, and maybe see what's going on. I do catch up some on Facebook.
Susie, I see Madison is visiting. She must have to quarantine when she goes back. We were supposed to go up to Western Massachusetts this week, but decided against it when MA changed their rules to require a COVID test to go in. My DS was not stopped going in, but we were staying in a time share, so they would check. We could have gotten the test, but then decided not to, we would be too nervous about doing anything around there.
We certainly are all having a different Thanksgiving. I ordered in all my sides, and we are having a smoked Prime Rib, not a turkey. It is only me and DH.
Janet, glad you have Cassie. I am sure it stopped raining there, because the sun just came out here. Whatever is going on sounds a little juicy, I will have to read back on that, probably as good as any book I can read.
RobinMD, so glad you got things worked out with your refinance, rates are so fantastic now I hear. I think for many of us it is really unfortunate that we can't all be together with family.
Hello to everyone else, I know that Jana must be enjoying her first Thanksgiving in her new home, and Lora is relaxing in her relatively new home. I did have a post from Andi on my Thanksgiving Day Facebook post. A pic of the beautiful roasted veggies I made for Thanksgiving 5 years ago popped up, so I will repeat what I said there. May our memories of the past hold us for what we know will become memories in the future again.

We had some excitement in my apartment building this afternoon. I am assuming someone's food got burned a lot. I was talking to my friend when all of a sudden the alarm went off and was shrill of course. Cassie immediately started freaking and assumed she ran into my bedroom. Someone did call the fire station and they turned off the alarm thank Goodness! I was surprised Cassie came out as quickly as she did. I thought she might hide out longer. Right now she is snuggling on my lap.
I was trying to do work earlier on a lesson plan that I started the other night but gave up. Since I couldnt go over to my sister's due to not knowing the test result yet and the library is closed again I was trying to do it from a saved file. I found that I could revise it with this little pen on the file but it is very time consuming.
When I thought I at least had a good amount finished I tried sending it to my friend who has been assigned to look at them. I sent one to her but she said she hadnt received the attachment so tried it again and it did go through but it didnt have all the information that was in the first one. I was going to try to fill it in and send again but just doesn't seem like it is worth the time to do all that.
I may ask my sister if I can use her computer now that I know that the test is negative. Otherwise, I guess I will have to wait until we go back. Right now the date is supposedly Monday but that isn't 14 days like they say in the letter they sent to the staff and parents so I asked our family worker to let us know what the situation is or someone if not her. It really should come from our senior director of course. Robin S, welcome back!

Happy Thanksgiving! I pray everyone is having a nice day. I am sure grateful for so much. I am especially grateful for you all! You made me feel welcomed, and let me get to know you... and I call you my lady friends when I talk about you to DH. Thank you. I knew that you'd be helpful with my weight loss journey, but you've become my friends, thank you. Each day I look forward to our "talks." We had a nice dinner. DD is home and napping on the couch. When she rolled over as I covered her up she told me it's good to be home. I loved hearing that, especially since she didn't grow up here. But glad it's home for her too. Middle son seemed fine today, I feel like he tolerates us, but he mentioned me in one of his "thankful" thoughts that we go around the table and say. He's thankful I got hearing aids. LOL, I'll take it. Youngest DS just seems to appreciate everything. He has the Christmas stuff ready to go... he's waiting for DD to help. I hope my MDS will help too??? I am sitting here with two of my dogs ( who love all the attention from everyone), but for now it's chilling time for them. Susie, it's a year to get choked up about for sure. Thanksgiving 2020, still so many things to be grateful for... Can you imagine the first Thanksgiving lasting 3 days? I am exhausted after just a half day! Janet, did you say the test came back negative? That's good news! Aw, poor Cassie with the alarm. I sure hope whoever's dinner wasn't completely ruined. Won't it be nice when Covid is over and you won't have to deal with all this techy stuff? I pray it's soon. RobinMD, sounds like a nice relaxing day. Glad your kids have a safe plan. I am thankful too that your refinance went through and the insurance! Lora, I bet you are having a lovely time with DD and DSIL and the grand puppy. I am sure your pork loin was a hit. Jana, I hope you are having a nice time at DA, and I hope Pops is alright today too! Happy Thanksgiving RobinS. Waving hi to everyone!

Here I am at the end of the day and feeling pretty good. I am trying to finish my PT exercises so I can hit the bed. It was a nice day...very different, but relaxed and enjoyable. YDD's DBF zoomed with his family at 4:00 PM - what a great idea. DH and I got to say hello to his parents and family. I kind of liked this smaller and more intimate Thanksgiving. I face-timed with DGS from Florida - he had a good day too.
RobinMD - glad you were able to have a day to relax and just enjoy the fact that the refinance AND insurance issues are over.
RobinS - good to hear from you...sounds like a very quiet T-Giving with just you and DH. Yes, DD and DBF will have to quarantine when they get back OR have a covid 19 test.
Janet - oh dear...scary fire alarm! Glad everyone is OK.
Jill - nice statement DD made about it being good to be home. Lovely tribute to the ROs too....wonderful ladies in this group and we are lucky to have you with us also.
Oh man... I am falling asleep at the computer, so I am off to bed.
