Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Another overcast day. Looks like we might get some snow next week.
I got the idea to move the appliances to my spare room when I was looking at an ad from Raymour and Flanigan. They had a section on making use of small spaces that had a nice shelving unit in it. I’m not using that room for anything, it’s finally uncluttered, it’s worth a try.
I watched Wonder Woman on tv yesterday. I figured it would be a “duh” movie but there was nothing else on. I thought it would make good background noise. I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed the movie. Nothing like the Linda Carter version at all.
I moved a few more things around in the garage yesterday. Already have my garbage tote half filled. I can probably get a bit more in the regular trash in the next couple of weeks, just leaving stuff that won’t fit in the tote aside for eventual junk pickup. I originally planned on junk pickup by now, but still have area I need to work on so will probably wait until Spring. I can get my car in the garage and right now tgats all that matters.
Ruth - nice that you have a pickup scheduled, it’s also nice that you have a place to take linens to.
Today I think I’ll put up my little Christmas tree in the living room. I remember how much I liked it last year, putting in the same spot. I might put something in the front window this year too. I was reading on Next Door that they are hoping for more Christmas lights in the neighborhood fit kids to enjoy. There are quite a few houses that are over the top with decorations.

Enjoy your day

Joyce, I think having the appliances closer will make a lot of sense. I’m sure you will use them more also. That is great that you can get your car in the garage. I’m sure by spring time you will have all the extra gone and even have a little more room. Having your tree in the living room will be nice for you to enjoy.
Ruth, the cake for Mara was adorable and she looked like she was ready to dig into her piece in the picture you sent. Did you start on anything with your new yarn? I’m sure your DGDs will enjoy the InstaPot. Good job on scheduling a charity pick up. I’m sure they will be glad to get complete sets of bedding. I changed over my comforter and shams several years ago and I used a big plastic bag to put my old one after I had it cleaned. At first I was going to keep it but decided to give it away. I attached a note what was exactly in the bag, Queen size comforter with 2 pillow shams and 2 small pillows – that way they knew exactly what they were getting.
Martha, hope you are feeling better today. Sometimes it is just good to get a day of rest. We are having leftover TG dinner today because DS and DDIL sent home enough left overs for us to enjoy a dinner. That dog sure can get in a lot of mischief.
I did a little more on-line shopping. One of the things I ordered today is for my God daughters 50th birthday in June. I have ordered a few things from an animal rescue site in the past. My God Daughter and her husband foster rescue dogs. They always get big dogs because their 2 dogs are big. So I thought besides getting her a few cute things part of the profit and the donation I made goes to rescue dogs so I know that is something she will be happy with. Tree is up, need to do a few more things and then we can take all the boxes to the basement. I also made 2 batches of cookies and as soon as they are cool I will pack them up for the church cookie sale next week.

Test results came back Negative. Sent text to my boss. Can’t go back to work until Thursday. A few more days of boredom left. I’m still staying home, self quarantine is for the 14 days and I’ll stick with that.

Good early evening all. Joy, it’s so nice when you can get your car inside when you get snow eventually!! Let me know how you like your AirFryer with the chicken nuggets and all. A gal on another site said she uses the beer batter fried fish fillets in hers; so at Target today I picked up some battered fish for Stan to try. I have fries I’ll just put in the oven to go with.
Mara mostly liked the frosting part of the cake. Her favorite of her cupcake was the sprinkles on top. She & Sawyer are big fans of sprinkles.
Can you believe that the big green garbage/trash bag I had for the kids is almost full?!?! Hopefully early in the week I can call and have it picked up and I’m going to ask that company if they can drop off a couple more empty ones at that time and I’ll just pay for the bags when I pay for the trash pick up. DS said it may take another one or two and I’m all in favor of it. Whatever it takes to get stuff out of the house and garage!!!
We ran to Target and picked up some outside lights for the front porch and the back deck. We can’t find the bin that has the outside timers and extension cords and things. I know I’ve seen it in the storage room, and I thought I had cleaned pretty well in there. I’m wondering if Stan took it out to the garage?? Going to keep looking. Got the artificial tree out of storage but haven’t brought it upstairs yet. Want to do some cleaning before I start putting things out.
I’ve been doing a little odds and ends shopping and older DD today gave me 3 local places where I can get gift cards for them and support small businesses. I’m trying to avoid Amazon, Target, Kohl’s, Walmart, etc. and buy local for everyone. Gift cards if they like that they can buy something local after to keep the stores going. It’s going to be interesting to try and do, but we’ll do as much as we can. One thing I ordered for Harper is a sweatshirt from Hawk Ridge where she does the raptor thing. They sell things as a fundraiser and so I ordered the sweatshirt and it came today. She wins and so does Hawk Ridge.
Ok, going to heat up turkey (we only had a couple small pieces left), potatoes, stuffing, etc. for dinner. Then I’m going to knit. I have started using the new yarn Dottie. Making some dishcloths for gifts.
Have a good evening all. Martha, hope you are doing ok. More tonight or tomorrow!

Good morning,
Beautiful sunny morning, it’s about time. Bills playing this afternoon, can’t wait. I should get a nice walk in sometime today.
Taking advantage of the nice weather today. Supposed to get quite a bit of rain tomorrow, that will keep me indoors. I still have a few things I want to move in the garage, probably head outside soon. I put some of the things like old brooms, sponge mops and the like in an old trash can. It freed up a lot of room and made that side of the garage look neater. One of the glass panels on the garage window fell out years ago. I had some cardboard on that window , it fell off so I need to replace it. Dottie - I’ve done way too much online shopping this year. It’s easy and convenient.
Ruth - I still haven’t started my knitting project, waiting for a nice snowy evening.
Martha - hope you’re doing well and enjoying the weekend.
I put up the tree yesterday, plugged it in the timer switch. I should have checked it first, a section of lights is out so I need to figure out which bulb is causing the problem. Will give me something to do thus evening.
Enjoy your day

Joyce, yea for the negative test. I’m surprised that you have to wait till Thursday to return to work, I thought the negative test would be enough. Enjoy the Bills game this afternoon. I hope you can find the light that isn’t working.
Ruth, that is great that DS and DIL are getting rid of things. I hope the trend continues. Great to be able to shop local for ODD. There are so many small places hurting and possibly closing by us.
Martha, I hope you are feeling better. Check in when you can.
We finished putting the ornaments, beads and garland on the tree this morning. All of the bins are back in the basement where they belong. We aren’t putting out as many of our decoration as usual. I have a box of things we no longer want and it is ready to go to the thrift store tomorrow. The light over our kitchen sink burnt out yesterday, I really depend on the light. We had an extra fluorescent bulb (they come 2 to a pkg) from the last time it burnt out. When Bill went to replace the bulb he noticed the fixture needed to be replaced. When he went to the store he found out that only LED fixtures are available. Also when the bulb burns out in this fixture (50,000 hours) there are no bulbs the fixture needs to be replaced. Fortunately Bill can replace fixtures but I think that making things like that just add to the trash piles and the fixture wasn’t all that reasonable, almost $40.00. If someone needed a handy many that would be a $100 job.
