To get a new habit going I need motivation to do the behavior on a regular basis unless it is a bad habit and that seems to propel itself. Over the last year I started a habit of meditating everyday which is pretty much in place. I was motivated to do this because it helped with my anxiety. A habit that can build on its own is every once in a while I decide I'm extra hungry at a particular part of the and eat something, and pretty soon it is everyday. That I have to confront and slowly work back on how much I eat.

I'm having trouble thinking of any good habits that I don't have to think about or work at, aside from the ones I learned in childhood - young adulthood. That may not be really accurate but it feels that way.

In general I don't think there should be comments made to someone about their body or weight. But I do think something should be done about overweight/obese children/teens but I don't know how to do that effectively. I think "something" should be done because of the health consequences of being overweight/obese.

Friday 12/4 - Children/Teens - I agree with everything you said bbbearsmom. Weight issues need to be addressed for health reasons, but how to do it? Robert Lustig is a pediatric endocrinologist who runs a program at UCSF and has done a lot of research, writing and advocacy in this area. Saturday 12/5 - Exercise - Weights 1 day and planning again for today. Treadmill - 1 very short relatively easy workout, but I got it done.
