This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here.

Good morning friends!
Well, looks like I have a lot of catching up to do. Lol.
We had a great visit from DD, DSIL and the doggo. They headed out yesterday morning and DH and I started preparing for our visit to his parents for the game. It was okay, all though as usual DFIL was a bit annoying. He is supremely negative which is strange because DMIL is the polar opposite. Lol. Anyway, we got home around 8 last night and it wasn't long before we were both ready to turn in. I guess DH and I aren't used to all that fun. Haha!
Today I'm slowing working on laundry. I guess I will always regret that while she was growing up I allowed DD to use 2 fresh towel every blessed time she took a shower. Anyway, I have a load of guest towels, a load of mine and Marks that have been building up, bedding from the guest room and possible a load of clothes. Some time today one of us needs to unhook the garden hose in the back of the house and get the winter covering put on the spout. We're having a winter cold front move through and the temps are supposed to plummet into the low 20s tomorrow night. We even have a slight chance of some flurries Monday night into Tuesday morning. I doubt if we'll see that, as it generally does not happen until Jan. or Feb. But then again, this is 2020 so it could be 3 feet. Haha.
My back is still quite sore, but I'm seeing small improvements day to day. I'm really ready for it to be back to normal as I'm wanting to start on some Christmas decorating and looking forward to going out and getting our tree.
Jill - I saw a couple of FB pics, and just wanted to say that your DD is beautiful! And I love the wreath y'all made. As for your DS, I well remember the days when my DD used to take everything out on me. No matter what it was in her life that was making her unhappy, I seemed to be the target. I think maybe subconsciously they know that nothing they do can make momma love them any less, so it gives them an easy outlet for their frustration/sadness/anger/whatever. Sending virtual hugs your way, I know it's painful to be the recipient of their behavior, but also to watch them struggling. I love my DD with all of my heart, but there were certainly times when she wasn't very likeable.
Jana - I think I that you enjoyed your NC trip. Yay!
Okay, I hear the washer and dryer calling to me. Time to shift the laundry loads. I'll BBL for more. Have a great Sunday everyone!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~When everything feels like an uphill struggle, just think of the view that you're going to get at the top.
Hi Everyone, Debating about making a run over to Walmart. I guess if the parking seems even crazier than normal I won't bother going in. I have a few other things in mind that I forgot about but besides trying to see if they have my flavor of coffee the other things I can get other places without crazy stuff to get it.
I already sent out my zoom invites to my parents and my teaching partner. I told her I dont want to hear from her that she didnt get them. I like to send them out ahead of time. I cant deal with doing the morning of the meeting. If for some reason like last week a parent tells me they didnt receive a link now I know how to do it but still won't send it in the middle of a meeting and tell them that. Unless my partner is doing something then maybe if I am using my laptop but otherwise not but I don't tell them that. Other than that I need to do some vacuuming and decluttering as usual. It seems like I have recluttered up the space I cleaned up before. Grr!! Lol! Have a good day!
Good morning!
Lora, I bet you are exhausted! What a busy week you are having! Seems that opposites in couples helps with the balance??? My MIL was cranky and negative, but FIL is just the opposite, so that helped during visits. Glad your back is feeling a bit betterâŚyour tree is out there calling you. Itâll wait for you to heal, though. đ Laundry! Yep, weâve been doing a towel/sheet load every day for the last few days. DD left, so it might go down??? 𤡠Thank you for the compliments. DD and I had a fun time.
Janet, I am sorry for the loss of your co-worker. So glad you have some happy memories of her. â¤ď¸ Oh, I think Cassie needs mouse hunting classes, lol. What kind of flavored coffee did you end up buying? I have had International Coffee on my mind since youâve mentioned it a while ago. We went to Wal-Mart last night and it was the first time ever that it was NOT busy. No lines at all!
RobinMD, I hope you are having a good day at work. It is concerning thinking of more spiking numbers, but it sure makes sense with the holidays. I saw your trim pictures, nice! I think a nice clean trim always makes a space look complete.
Susie, thank you for the middle child observations. I am going to keep praying. I hope all goes well with the DGCâs virtual learning. I think that all in-person or all virtual is easier than part one way and part another. So, maybe educationally, this will be better? I know itâll be hard socially. I canât wait for all of this pandemic stuff to get behind us.
Yesterday DD left, and today she is getting in her classroom to change it over to Christmas. We had fun making the wreath, so she took the leftover materials to make one for her place later this week. DH and I went to mass yesterday then grocery shopping last night. Then we started watching season 2 Virgin River, but I fell asleep pretty quickly. So, weâll start it over probably next weekend. Today I need to do some lesson planning, and tonight I have a Zoom meeting with some old high school friends. I havenât talked to some of them in about 30 years, so I am super excited. Itâs a small group of us that are going to meet up then have fun with some trivia game. Such a great idea! I spent a lot of time with this âgroupâ in high school. I canât wait! Although I hope they donât judge my lack of good trivia answers. Lol
I hope everyone has a great day!âď¸
Hi again, Just received notice that we are going back tommorow. They took the rugs out and put in new floors in our classroom. Our Family Worker just sent me a picture of it. I am never going to stop hearing my teaching partner complain. I can hear it now as we will have to put everything back in place.
I decided not to go to Walmart once I saw the parking lot. I went back over to Target. I would have gotten more there yesterday but I didnt know what the car situation was and I went there after Target. I didn't want to have to carry a lot of things home if I had to walk home from there. As it turned out I checked to see if by any chance they had my coffee in stock and they did. So bought several because I never know for sure if they will have it. It is called cafe francais. I'll post a picture of it in our page in a bit.
I had some cookies that I bought for my friend that were in my car. She told me that they aren't giving her enough food and the food they are giving her is not appropriate as she is lactose intolerant. I may drive to the rehab place and leave it for her outside on the table. She really wants one of those breakfast sandwiches. First I don't know if she will actually end up getting it. Who knows if one of the staff might eat it plus even if not how long it would sit there.
I put the cookies into small baggies and put into a clear bag. Once they would be opened she would need something to keep it in. Not even sure if they will allow it to be opened but I guess we will see. I put the label of the brand to show that they aren't cooked at home. Hopefully the staff won't be tempted to eat them. I kind of want to call the lady from the Corporation for Aging and let her know but since she is there I don't want her to get kicked out due to a complaint if that makes sense as I cant take care of her.
Hello Everyone...what a nice and relaxing day we had. We finished watching the LONGMIRE series of NetFlicks. I think tonight it will be a Hallmark Christmas movie. I stopped at ODD's just to see OGD for a bit...I wanted to show her some crochet and knitting things and check on getting her some supplies for Christmas. Then I made a quick stop at LOWES to pick up some outdoor lights. I started working on outdoor decorating this week and every strand (except one new one) had probably 1/3 of the lights out so I took a neighbors advice and decided to get new sets. One day this week, I will get my ladder and put the lights on my tree and little bushes.
Tomorrow DH has neuro-fit and I have outdoor exercise, which looks to be indoors this week. I also go back to the orthopaedist to check on my arm/shoulder.
Lora - sorry your back is not healing faster, but glad there is improvement each day. I know you hated to see DD and DSIL leave, but I am so happy they were able to get to your house for Thanksgiving! I am also glad that MIL is so sweet that it offsets the grouchiness of FIL. I have never been big on using many towels...guess it was just the way I grew up.
Jill - is that your front door? So pretty. I loved the VIRGIN RIVER series...I watched all that was available last year, but I can't remember how many seasons there were. Hope you enjoyed the zoom meeting with your old hs friends this evening.
Janet - hope all goes well at school tomorrow. OH good, you will have enough coffee to last a bit if the weather really turns bad. How nice to take cookies for your friend...an appreciated treat, I am sure.
Waving to everyone....off to bed
Hi Everyone, Today wasnt too bad. I left a little early before it got dark but the rain came was torrential for a bit but thankfully not the whole way home. My darling teaching partner didnt come so I had the classes to myself. 0ne class had some problems getting in tho. I saw that my teaching partner had tried to come in but I never saw her actually come into the zoom class. I wonder if that messed it up for that class. One of those parents said that it said another meeting was in progress which it wasnt but if she came in using my information maybe she entered and then didnt end the class properly. I had no problem with any other class.
Susie and Robin Md, glad your daughters enjoyed looking through the ornaments and decorations for the tree. Jana, maybe someplace in your new house you could find a space to hang the hammock and that could be your restful escape place inside the house for now.
I did deliver the cookies to my friend and she said she had eaten some already. I have an idea for next weekend. Obviously I dont want to bring too much but there are these rolls I get for my sister and I for our Friday dinner when we have a Shabbat dinner. The rolls are moist so while butter or margarine would be good on them they dont need anything tho. Depending of course on the circumstances if she is still there as of next weekend I may take them to her. Then if the food is not enough for her she has something besides cookies to fill herself. Have a good night!
