WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

I did a little Christmas shopping yesterday and got a few groceries, then put lights and ornaments on the tree. Our tree isnโt that old, but many of the bulbs are already out on it. So glad to have the tree finished, usually it stays half-decorated for about a week. Itโs like pulling teeth to get any help, and I despise doing it. I love the finished product though.
Nancy, shockingly I didnโt have any dessert yesterday! Like you, Iโm wondering who this person is. I love banana pudding, so I plan to make some sugar-free pudding and cut a half banana into a serving tonight. Iโll check the sugar grams on a half graham cracker and possibly crumble that into it. I bought some Shredded Wheat yesterday and used 1/2 cup almond milk/1/2 cup 2% milk with it for a late breakfast. What a treat! Iโm also enjoying nuts; I have cashews, roasted almonds, and smoked almonds. Ah yes, the pandemic. Good point about flying. It sure would be nice if they could come your way. Maybe next summer?
Lori, my ears perked up at Christmas cake balls. That might be a good option for the cookie exchange. Would you mind sharing the recipe? How easy are they?

Kathy, I agree with Nancy about the walk. Everyone warned me about a setback. Apparently itโs quite common. Please be careful.

End of the month, so worked on campus today. Jan, just saw your post...this is the recipe I follow. www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/chocolate-cake-bites/1df1ef86-58b9-41e1-8aaf-9850cc481cedI do them in stages....yesterday I did step 1 and 2. I leave them in the freezer until Iโm ready to coat. Once coated, I keep them frozen till needed. I use almond bark for coating and find it easier to do in a double boiler on the stove, Keeps the chocolate melted...also add sprinkles or sugar as you go, chocolate dries quickly... Nancy, sorry about the trip...yes, I enjoy quinoa - use anywhere you would rice. Your menu sounds yummy! Nice and healthy! Kathy, hope your feeling better...

Jan - That must be your lowest calorie count in ages. WTG!!
Lori - I'm not sure I'll use the quinoa other than in my chicken dish but that's OK. I have it a lot. Is it a nice break working on campus on occasion?
