Buh-bye Barr. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
This new Republican Party brings back childhood memories.
We lived across tbe street from an elementary school. In the Summer the school had all kinds of indoor and outdoor activities for the neighborhood children.
It was so much fun. So many games, arts and crafts, planting a garden, and other activities.
However, there were always the bully kids. Never happy. Always complaining. They just hung around to mock us or make trouble. No team spirit at all. Mean spirited brats.
This new Trump Party reminds me of those brats. Just there to make trouble. To spoil the day. No desire at all to play nice. No team spirit. Sore losers.
Those kids were more interested in ruining the games for us rather than enjoying the games with us.
I didn't get it then and I sure as Hell don't get it now.

I saw Bidens speech tonight. Glad he won all the states that he won. It's nice to hear a real American President talk, isn't it? The GOP members that are following him should be called the "Mee! Party".

McConnell went on the floor of the Senate and congratulated Biden and Harris. Hope this calms down any renegade senators.

The sad thing is, DT actually did a few good things his term. Buying oil for the reserves when the price bottomed out; pushing for the vaccines; pushing for ventilators to be manufactured; (granted way too slowly) Ok that's all I can think of but I'm sure there are more. BUT the only legacy he will leave is his trumpy-tantrum on the way out; trying to subvert the democratic process; encouraging (by not discouraging) violence against Americans; nepotism; an obvious sedition attempt; intentionally trying to f'over Biden by putting people in positions of power to hinder his administration; etc.
If the GOP had any moral values or integrity left, they'd have stepped in before now, acknowledged Biden/Harris and started to do the right thing to not only help America and Americans, but to save face for themselves as much as possible after this fiasco of sh!tshow.

From a news story: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell warned Republican senators Tuesday during a private caucus call not to object to the election results on January 6, according to two sources familiar with the matter. McConnell told his caucus that objecting to the results would force Republicans to take a “terrible vote” because they would need to vote it down and appear against President Donald Trump. Senate Majority Whip John Thune (R-S.D.) and Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) also echoed McConnell’s remarks. Some House Republicans, led by Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.), are still planning to challenge the election results on January 6, the date Congress will officially certify them. If a Republican senator joins the effort, however, it will force both chambers to take a vote on the election. But they have yet to get official buy-in from any GOP senators.

lani, I added part of the story that says that some of the Representatives are going to object but they need a buy-in from a GOP Senator.

Biden nominates Pete Buttigieg for Secretary of Transportation. Thrilled for him. He'll do a good job.

doordie50, I heard an interview on NPR last night with Bernie Sanders and they asked him about his interest in being Secretary of Labor and he said he's in touch with the Biden team often and would consider it if asked. I think he'd actually be really good at that, so long as Vermont can replace him with a Dem. Biden needs to work more with the progressive Dems in order to be united. Though that said, people like AOC are a PITA IMO. They're young, inexperienced and don't seem to get that they cannot change an entire system presto chango, just because they were elected. They need to learn to work within the existing system, IMO, and then work on changing from the inside out. But her constant bitching has me wanting to put her in a big Time Out corner.

surfgirl, I agree about AOC! She comes across as looking for sound bites to get re-elected. I have not been impressed with the way she's been "doing her job". You can't just bark all the time, you have to bite now and then.

I agree with you. I still think the new left crew from 2018 is what caused the Dems to almost lose the house.
