pretty snow picture, Chele...like looking at it from no snow. 68 today later. bet your birds appreciate the feeder. our woodpeckers are frequently at the humming bird feeder here since those long beaks can get into it.
i slept so late yesterday that I had trouble getting to sleep last night, woke up three times with weird dreams, so When I got up for Micki's shot, I stayed up with hot milky tea. supposed to be 37 but thankfully. 46 although DH went out dressed as Nanouk of the North. Micki has his red quilted coat. when your body has adapted to long summers over 100, you get cold so fast. He jumps on the bed after the walk and I flip a corner of blanket over him.
11 degrees at Grand Canyon...Flagstaff mountain area is actually higher than Denver.
gong to make that meatloaf this morning , scoot to corner half mile away for produce and dairy, then little post office inside a decorator store to mail some TJs peppermint “oreos” and Meyer lemons from our tree to dsil who loves both.. so glad not to have to go to big PO.
have a good day.

Kooky advice, Linda. I guess that means we should not travel from home base?
Iggy’s former boss at job he had before the last one wants to have lunch with him. He is from St Louis and he and wife are coming to Ohio. We won’t even go to the nieces’ houses let alone a restaurant. Needless to say he is not going.

Linda, we have had our second visit from the juvenile Cooper’s Hawk and first visit from a raven. Man, are they big. I guess the feeder attracts the little birds and the little birds are attracting the big birds. Enjoy your meatloaf. Do you make it with ketchup and Worcestershire or some other way? No TJ’s in upstate NY? Keep warm.
I went Krogering this morning. There were not as many people as usual but they were way understaffed-one cashier and no packers.
Karen, I hope all went well at Osteo. Poor little Sweet Potato. I hope the tumor removal and teeth cleaning don’t traumatize her.
Becky, any news on your DN?
Kathy, did you warm up?
Waving to Liz and Denise.

Thanks for the start Chele. Pretty snow picture to see from a distance as long as it's not here. I don't blame Iggy for not going to lunch with his former boss. Glad there weren't as many people in Kroger's. Not many ppl in Walmart either. Thanks for asking. I messaged my DSIL on FB messenger this afternoon and she said my DN went home from the hospital today. She texted a picture of her taped incision. There are 4 thyroid glands and they removed 3 of them. I hope that helps and this is her last surgery. There is more pain than she had expected.
Waves to all.

Chele, thanks for the start. It's gradually warming up. We were in the 70s today, but it looks like another front is coming and we'll get some cooler weather again early next week. I did a grocery order for DM today and didn't have any major substitutions. The shopper said they were limiting boxes of Puffs to one per customer in the store, but the website allowed me to order two. There were no paper towels to be found, so glad I stocked up.
Karen, hope Osteo went well.
Becky, that's good that your niece is out of the hospital. Hope she has a speedy recovery.
Waving to everyone. Have a good evening.

Thanks for the start, Chele. How did Iggy's lottery tickets fare? I saw that nobody won the big jackpot last night, but even matching some numbers can be lucrative. Does your juvenile Cooper's hawk jabber a lot? Our girl was so loud and consistent that we couldn't figure out how she would be able to sneak up on any prey. I think we have crows and not ravens here, and they are pretty large up close. Could be the larger birds are attracted to the feeder, but I've wondered why our Coopers hawks (I think we now have 3 or 4) don't swoop in on the doves (their favorite food from what I've read). We had 7 doves on the deck at the same time this morning, so it would have been easy pickings. Osteo went fine. I hit the red line on the leg press, which is a big deal. It's been a few weeks since I hit that number and I ca't seem to get it consistently. I'm already well over the red line on all the other machines. I don't blame Iggy for not meeting the former boss in a restaurant. Too risky right now.
Kathy, I didn't hear about Mike Flynn until after you posted. If that doesn't meet the legal definition of "sedition", I don't know what would. And then there was Trump's 46-minute rant that no network would run so he did it on FB. I think it will be hysterical if most of the Republicans in Georgia listen to the fraud claims and stay away from the polls on January 5th and the Dems take control of the Senate as a result. I hope you'll have good weather on Christmas so you can do some kind of outdoor get together to exchange gifts. Good luck to your mayor on the fines, but I'll bet the governor will step in. Is your tree fluffy today? Are both FSU and UCF off this weekend? I saw a news segment that indicated people are already starting to stockpile paper products. Glad we were ahead of the curve. No major substitutions are something new. Glad you were able to get extra Puffs.
That sounds like positive news on your DN, Becky. I'm glad you were able to send her DH a photo of when she was young. That probably brightened his day a bit. It's great that she's home already but not that she is having so much pain. Don't you usually have larger crowds at WM? I guess you just hit it right today. Was your weather conducive to walking outside today?
Linda, yes I expect when Arya comes home after surgery, I will have a couple of days of a velcro pup. I haven't gone any place that sells toys so I also may just donate and save myself the potential exposure. It sounds like things are back to normal at your house but I don't blame you for not wanting to cook yesterday. Chocolate Lava Gnocchi?? OH MY!! I probably need to go to TJ's in the next couple of weeks and will have to look for that and the "oreos". Not that I really need to keep sweets in the house. It's incredible that, even in your part of AZ, you still need Nanouk clothes. I agree that the map with the Ohio story is not correct. Our positivity rate has not been less than 15% for weeks and most of the time has been 17 or 18%. Today it's actually 19.99%, despite our number of cases being under 4K (which is probably a 2 week low). How was the meatloaf? Nice to not have to go to the PO to mail things. Ours is always such a zoo but I'm going to have to go as soon as I figure out if any of DB/DSIL's kids will be with them for Christmas so I'll know where to send gift cards.
Weekend's coming, Liz! How are you doing and how has the week been? Did you have any snow like some of the rest of us did?
Denise, did you get snow? How are things going at your hospital?
My knees were not happy today (weather perhaps?) so I took it a little easier than normal at the gym. I stopped at the office and a couple of us got cleaned out, trashed some things, and relocated other things. I pulled out a bunch of apparel that we'll use on Monday for door prizes and that helped clear out some space. On the way home I stopped at the sushi place, so that was dinner for tonight and will be for tomorrow. My car told me today that the battery in my key fob is low, so I need to figure out how to change that before I venture out on Tuesday. It would be my luck for it to quit working when I'm in KVL and I can't get into the car to come home. We're expecting rain tonight and tomorrow. At least it should be too warm to snow, at least here.

Upstate NY does have TJs now, but nasty drive in traffic to it and crowded and hard to park, so they do not go. She loves the chocolate covered peppermint sandwich cookies.
TP and cleaners are in stock again. No Pledge Polish.
DN will have to watch out for calcium blood levels too low. ..tetany. One parathyroid has a lot of work to do. Mine were mad when one was removed. I had big calcium and d supplements after thyroid surgery years later
.Simple day got more complicated....decided better do groceries ..SAfeway fairly empty mid morning...but only one check out. Then off to Sprouts for a few things and home. Mom's ceramic tree has 49w bulbs keep burning out in two days. So I took it to the lamp guy. He tighter a stew holding the socket and said it looked fine. The loose screw might cause bad connection..get a small led bulb...so far so good Bob drove because he wanted to go to World mkt...got a bunch of international goodies but couldn't find the thing he went for. So we went to an upscale grocery place all decked out for Christmas and found them and shrimp, and other good stuff. We are set for the month.
Got home , packed some of it with our Meyer lemons to send to Dsil. Made the meatloaf finally and got it into the oven while DH picked up meds, got car washed and bought wine. Got to little post office substation . Did my archives and by then it was dinner. Just now could sit.
too many places even with mask and distance...creeps me out...but I can stay home now

Yesterday our governor declined statewide masks but did set Money for schools, gave go ahead for restaurants to expand on sidewalks, parking lots, encouraged local areas to enforce current limits, and said free COVID shots starting with first responders and medical staff. Guess it is better than nothing, but we are back to July height ...remember when AZ was worst in the world?
