Thanks, Karen! Birthday off to a great start. I received one gift this morning - a Villeroy and Boch Toy’s Fantasy Christmas mug for my morning tea this holiday season. I have curled my hair and dressed up as if going to a Christmas party. We are going to Wild Birds to get my free 5 lb bag of bird seed. Then off to DiSalvo’s deli for a slice of “birthday” cake. Hopefully, they have the lemoncello. A cannoli will do. Finally, a stop at Starbuck’s drive through for my free birthday beverage. Iggy is making vegetarian Portobello pot roast for me. He has two presents sitting on the fireplace for me for later. He is doing his best to make today special since I can’t see the GFs. Hope you are all well. BBL.

I'm happy things are off to a great start for you today, Chele. I know you'll love the new mug and will get several weeks to use it. Dress up when you can. I'm doing the same. Opportunities will be slim this year. Enjoy all those birthday freebies. Are you going to have lunch out as well? How sweet of Iggy to make things special today since you can't see your friends. What else did you get at the deli and what beverage did you get at Starbuck's?
Kathy, you're expecting a cool front while things will be warming to normal for us. Rain has started here and some of it could be heavy later in the day. I hear your governor is getting some heat for his lackluster response to the virus and, of course, he's saying it's all political.
I saw an article this morning, Linda, referring to diatomaceous earth as "magic unicorn dust". Have you heard it described that way? My ceramic tree has a tall light bulb in the base and it reflects through the bulbs. So much easier than dealing with individual lighted bulbs. I'm glad the lamp guy was able to fix yours. What was Bob not able to find at World Mkt? Mine always seems pretty well stocked. Glad you were able to find it eventually. I hope being stocked up for the month will be sufficient. I guess a lot of people are polishing furniture😊. I am not among them. When will you take the box to your little PO to send to DSIL? I was in closer contact with more people at the office yesterday than I have been since before the pandemic. I wore my mask and stayed as far away as I could and got out of there as quickly as possible. Hope it was far enough. It's a shame your governor isn't doing more. But then we wouldn't want him to trample anyone's civil liberties, even if it might kill them. So clueless! The irony is that, even being back to the same levels as July, there are a lot of states with worse case counts per 100K than AZ. I can't believe places like the Dakotas are as bad as they are right now. Despite what is now coming from the WH task force, I think it's too little too late to keep things from getting worse between now and at least the end of the year. But I hope I'm wrong. California implemented regional orders yesterday and I wish other states would do that as well. But I guess for some of us, that's too much to hope for.
Liz, how was the week? Any plans for the weekend? I assume you won't be driving to Jersey to see family for the holday. Will your nephew be home? How is CV-19 where he is? Have they banned travelers from the mainland?
What are you hearing on DN, Becky? Were you able to walk today?
Denise, do you have the weekend off?
I didn't want to get out of bed this morning, which is unusual for me. I have a load of laundry in the dryer and did my workout, but that may be it for today. Fortunately, dinner is left over sushi, so no prep. I do have some MG stuff to take care of for Monday evening but I can do that in a seated position.

Happy birthday, Chele! 🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎉🎉🎉🎉 good for Iggy.
Never heard of D earth called that.
we were looking for After 8 mints and jars of Swedish lingonberries.
Karen, your body wants a day off!
my special transition pieces that go between new floor and old which are slightly different heights got back ordered because the sub group that makes them for a Mannington is in the midwest with COVID worker problems. Now supposedly 12/28. We have those areas covered with strips of Manila folder and painters tape. at least the floor is done.
two weeks ago Sprouts had only half their shipment of Boarshead cold cuts because of worker illness issues.
people have not thought about that problem.
having a quiet day at last after 9 hours sleep and staying in bed with dog and coffee.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Everyone.
Liz, good to hear from you. The snow is mostly gone but was nice to see since I didn’t have to drive in it. I am glad you are having some success with the generic Celebrex. I was wondering how your niece was doing at her hospital. Good that DN could continue his studies virtually. The other presents were a quiche pan and a springform pan for my baking and some baskets for the basement stairs where I store the potatoes and onions.
Karen, you better take care of yourself. We winter chickens have to pace ourselves. I hope you got some rest today and made Sweet Potato happy by sitting with her. How’s the wifi doing? Have you heard from DB lately? How are the repairs going? I got a Very Berry Hibiscus Iced Tea at Starbucks and some freshly made mozzarella along with a slice of Italian cream cake at the deli. No lunch out. Just something light at home.
Linda, glad you got some sleep and some R & R with Micki. We had 10000 new cases reported today and the experts say this is not the last of the Thanksgiving surge.
Becky, Happy Birthday to your DB. Have you put up any Christmas decorations yet?
Kathy, how is the decorating going? Do you help DM decorate?
Denise, how are things?
My GF sent me the roses in my avatar since we couldn’t get together. My other GF - the one with the heart and back problems - is in hospital again. They thought she might have Covid and they tested her twice but she is negative. It turned out to be a UTI infection that “went everywhere.” I told her she better not have anyone over for Christmas as she has a large family. Her misinformed answer was “only one family at a time.” Ugh! My DSIL informed me DN#2 is out of quarantine today so she can have her laundry room back. The kid was in the finished basement and that’s where the washer and dryer are. I am glad DB and family are being careful.
Almost for dinner. Have a good evening, All.

Chele, Happy Birthday evening!! That's an excellent reason to get dressed up and Iggy did a great job in helping you celebrate your day. Pretty flowers in your avatar. How was the dinner? I went to get my share of the groceries from DM and she handed me a container of beef stew. Getting groceries for her does have its benefits. DM has always done her own decorating. My contribution is usually just getting a big container of ornaments down from the top shelf in one of her closets. She said she's not getting all that stuff for the tree down this year and is just putting up her other decorations. Karen, our mayor's executive order goes into effect on Sunday. It authorizes the fining of businesses that aren't following the Covid guidelines. I'm expecting the governor to shoot it down, but we'll see. We are having a bit of a warmup now, but it's still much cooler than we were in November. I agree with Linda, that your body wants a day off! Liz, the tree is up, but not decorated yet. The house is a huge mess at the moment with Christmas stuff scattered all about! Can't believe you're going through budget cuts during this time. Are you planning on any time off over the holidays? That's good that your DN can continue his studies. My DN has been doing the same. Kind of a shame they can't go to school in person, but at least they'll keep on schedule to graduate.
Waving to everyone. Have a good evening.

at least our governor lets cities do their thing.
Never got dressed beyond my robe and slippers, but from wandering in and out of the garage to find things as I littered, I cleaned up part of it!
Planted my two TJs amaryllis in wax...removed wax and stretch rubber under it..they cut off the poor thing's roots! I planted them in glass cylinders from amaryllis bought in past.watered and left them happy by a window.found out by planting one and leaving one in wax last year that you get double to triple results if you plant them and then can plant bulbs in yard later.
DH got through more than half the boxes from his den closet and straightened it up. One of these days he will get to the 38 of books. But he will not let me help..wants to do it slowly, sort and cull.
Both of us are sleeping longer but still tired.
leftovers tonight..

Thanks for the start Karen.
Chele I'm glad Iggy is trying to make your birthday special since you can't see your GFs. Italian cream cake is so good but so rich. I haven't put up a tree in years because of the cats. I may go to the Dollar store in search of some cheaper decorations though. Those roses are beautiful and so thoughtful. I'm sorry about your other GF.
Karen I haven't heard anything about DN today. Hopefully she is home resting and recovering. I have been walking in the afternoons since the mornings have been in the 30's. It's still been windy so it's been harder to walk into it but I've been doing it. Your body is trying to tell you to take the day off. The mayor of Austin has been catching some big time flack. In early November when they were still in Phase 3 he attended his DD's outdoor wedding then went to Cabo on a private jet with family and friends. While he was there he made a video telling people not to do any non essential traveling although it wasn't against the rules then. He has apologized twice but he created quite a furor.
Liz Thanks for the prayers for my niece. The IT band is still tight but it's up further in my leg kind of by my quads. Prayers for your niece who was pulled to work in ICU. I hope the gel shots help you. Hang in there. Will keep you in my thoughts.
Linda Our governor allows counties to do their thing as long as it doesn't supercede his orders.
