Well right now, they are saying that I could get a foot or more of snow Wednesday night. Yikes.....interesting for sure. Glad that most of my shopping is done, and most of my wrapping too. Now just gotta get those pesky Christmas cards done. Later today.....will get them started. G

Hello Crafters Sue - I hope you will let us know when you have news about your DGD. Please take care of yourself Ruth - It's always nice to have some gifts made up in advance to use when you need them. Ginny - I'm glad that most of your shopping is done if you are getting that much snow! I sure hope it's less. How is the new kitty doing? Is she less shy? I'm sure you are loving having her around. Phyl - Hope you are doing well. I mailed all my cards yesterday, along with some bills. Glad to get those out of here. I had planned to also gas up my car and go by the bank ATM, but didn't feel like driving to where those are - about 25 minutes away - so I just went to the closer post office. I'll go out next week and run those other errands. I pulled out that quilt top I started a few months back and even though I'm not that interested in it, I'm going to try to finish the top since it's just easy strip piecing and nine patch blocks. At least that leaves me with no half started quilts sitting around. I still want to finish that hand quilting piece - if talking about it got it finished, I'd be done by now I bought a box of cranberry orange muffin mix when I was at the store this past week, so I made it today in a 9x9 pan instead of muffins. I get cravings for orange things sometimes. I always wonder at different food cravings I get if it means something is missing in my body. I crave red meat every once in awhile and also citrus things like lemon and orange. Hope everyone has a great weekend

Ginny, that's a lot of snow.I'm glad you got all your Christmas shopping done because people will now be hurrying to get things before the snow and stores will be a madhouse.
CJ, what a great feeling that will be to not have any unfinished quilts. I have a lot of unfinished baby blankets and have talked for years on here about getting them done. All they need is edging but when I made them I was not good at edging so left them. Now I've learned some things and my edgings are pretty good. Also they have some really great patterns for borders now that I would like to try. How's the weather where you are? I know you're glad too that you got things mailed. I need to write some letters and if I'm going to send cards need to get them ready also so when I go to take care of an errand next week I can mail them

Good evening, CJ- so glad you got your cards and bills mailed out. What a big relief- so now you can focus on the fun stuff, like that quilt top. What a nice feeling to be able to go back and work on that quilt top you worked on years ago. Looking ahead are you considering starting a new block of the month for next year?
Ruth - you have taught yourself so much over the years - do you actually plan to go back to those afghans that you never put a border on???
Phyl- how are you feeling?
Sue- we miss you - I know you might not be checking in. Praying for you and your family.
DD#2 stopped over for awhile. Jane panic texted me- her machine ( the same as mine) stopped working and she is trying to finish a lovely quilt she is making for her mom. So I told her she could stop over and borrow my machine when she went out to drop her machine off for repair . She got a flat tire getting to my house. Pastor came and put on her mini spare... thankfully she does not live far from me.
Hope to crochet a bit later Ginny

Poor Jane. First her sewing machine goes and then while going to your house to borrow your's she gets a flat tire?

Well, Jane was able to finish the stipple with my machine- and the quilt looks great. She got the binding on too- and will hand finish it. I know that in the process she got her old Husky back into service, should she need to fix/modify the quilt. But its pretty much done. Got my machine back from her late today so I can start working on the baby quilt. And they ordered new tires for their car- at least the rear two. Guess it was a pretty big gash in it and not repairable.
I watched the White House Christmas show- always love to see that show and how they decorate the peoples house for Christmas. Its so pretty. I crocheted a bit while it was on....love the yarn I am working with, its so soft.
See ya tomorrow. Ginny

Ginny, I know you made your other daughter some crochet blankets, Will you be making dd#2 a crochet one as well as the quilt or will you wait for that for when she has baby#2. What yarn are you using right now and is it the shrug for yourself you're crocheting?
No wood fire today because it was way too windy so day was spent in the "winter quarters" and crocheting. I have 27 inches to go on the pocket scarf and it's not very wide so I should be done soon. Then I'll put pockets on these last three things and I'll be done with Christmas gifts....just in time. Well I'll have about 10 days actually to just relax and crochet for fun. Then after Christmas I'll prepare for the three upcoming birthdays and I can relax again while making some baby things for my dgd's baby that's due in May but no urgency for that as it will be a summer baby so doesn't need much in the way of crochet things right away.
