Chele, I hope you're feeling better today. Do you think your headache was weather related?
LOL on mystery relatives, Linda. Not the first time it's happened in my family. DM's half sister suddenly entered the picture 24 years ago. Would the parent of a step grandparent technically be a relative? I'll bet the soup will be even better over the next couple of days, if you have leftovers. Did you get all the presents sent to NY? Nice that more of the houses in your neighborhood finally have their lights up. We just need to put wreaths on the gate and we'll be done. I think we all get somewhat traumatized by remodeling. We just hate having strangers in the house and it's gotten worse since Arya reacts so fearfully to them. I hope you'll be able to return to your pandemic normal soon.
Becky, have you ever seen the big tree in Zilker Park? My tree is similar to that one, only their twinkle lights are smaller and there are thousands more of them. Mine looks nice twinkling after dark but it's not large enough to stand under like the Zilker one. Did your shoulder/arm feel any better after yesterday's pop? How are the IT band and kne doing? I didn't realize you had an Apple phone now. Android is definitely different. I think Kathy has an Apple phone and used hers as a hotspot. Did you eat out for your birthday?
Are you enjoying comfortable weather, Kathy? Did you get all your decorating done, including the tree?
Liz, have a good week.
Are you expecting any snow, Denise? How close are you to the hospital where you work? Does Pookie spend more time inside when it's cold?
Busy so far today between cleaning and laundry. Last MG meeting of the year is tonight and I've been back and forth for several days coordinating the agenda with the director. I think we have it set. Should be a fun time.

I sent them way back in mid November! Good thing the way things are not arriving after black Friday and cyber Monday. What I sent was lemons off our tree and a couple TJs goodies. Trying to get the ambition

Karen, thanks for the start. Your tree looks great! It's been drizzly today and we're only at 61 right now. Definitely seems like a winter day. Tree is still bare, but mostly fluffed. The angel topper is next and then getting down all the ornament boxes. I've been busy figuring out healthcare for the next year and I think I'm coming to the same conclusion as last year on which plan to choose. Payment will be about the same. Enjoy your MG meeting. Becky, I do this to use my phone as a hotspot. Hopefully, it's the same for your model. Go to Settings->Cellular and make sure "Cellular Data" is turned on. The "Personal Hotspot" option is the 3rd option on that screen. Turn the Hotspot option on and select "Allow Others to Join" on the screen that comes up. It shows a password on that same screen. On your computer or other device, look for networks. You should see one with something like "Becky's iPhone". Select it and connect to it. Enter the password shown on your phone screen.
Chele, hope you're feeling better.
Hope everyone has a good Monday.

Hello and happy Monday chicks. Thank you for the start Karen. Kathy - sounds good that the tree is fluffing out now and ready for the topper. I'm sure drizzly and 61 is winter-like for you. Not quite the 28 and windshield frost that greeted me this morning. I wouldn't mind the cold if it would just stay cold and not provide us with mid 50s to almost 60. Too many are catching cold now on top of all the Covid numbers escalating. Be careful getting those ornaments down! . Chele - hope you had a lovely birthday! Very nice presents from the Iggy man. How is your head feeling? Has the migraine subsided yet? I've been dealing with sinuses being dry and then runny. Still taking Xyzal before bed each night. Linda - did you get your pork roast marinating? Here's hoping DH's dental work isn't too bad on Thurs. I'm supposed to have something tomorrow for my permanent set. We'll see if that happens. It's been the longest wait for a set of permanent dentures in history! Maybe not but surely feels that way! Nice that you and Micki were able to enjoy the houses being lit up in the neighborhood. I guess Gary started something putting out the new inflatables and the lasers as the neighborhood has picked up in decorating. Love the cartoon! Becky - how is that bicep feeling? Don't like the sounds of 2 pops happening. Hope things are progressing in a positive way for DN. Contacted my DSIL to see how her husband is doing and haven't heard back. Not quite sure what to make of that. Glad that Kenneth and the fur babies are all doing well. Karen - lovely Christmas tree you put outside! I mentioned to Gary that the trees are out now and he should probably go looking for our table-top tree. Zoe seems to be doing good; she had an accident Friday into Sat. on the landing of the steps. With the torrential rain, I couldn't be too upset. She seems to be more herself overall which I am immensely grateful for at this time. SM - the last I heard, she had been moved onto the Alzheimer's unit. DS and DNephew went to visit her around Thanksgiving and she seemed thrilled to see her grandson. They had the visit with DS and DN outside but I'm sure she appreciated it. She's deteriorating quicker than normal due to the quarantining of LTC facilities. It's very sad and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. How is MG going? I'm glad you rested a bit with your little pumpkin. I was a crazy mom and took Wally to the park both Sat. and Sun. (rain and then cold/windy) but he was happy! We've started our expansion for the surge and ironically the biggest problem is not PPE or beds but having sufficient staffing! Interesting about the mystery relatives. I need to get going, have some items to look at and finish as I will be in late tomorrow after the dentist at 8:30am. Stay safe and be well dear ladies~ Ciao for now~

Liz, hope the teeth come soon! And fit well. I'm with Zoe, would not be out in that rain either.
The roast is beef. Rhineland sauerbraten marinates in hot vinegar sliced onions, garlic, bay leaf for 2-3 days ...in fridge after it cools. It simmers 2.5 hours to braise and the juices are mixed with gingersnaps crumbs for gravy, we have it with bread dumplings. We are lazy, so I get the German prepacked in little round containers that you soak and then boil, then remove the holders.
The tree is up...lot of Scandinavian stuff from a store in Scottsdale used to shop when we visited parents here in 1970s, lot of German and beach stuff from trips. The packages from DSIL finally arrived and we have Italian cookies in the kitchen and gifts under the tree.

Day 3 of headache. Believe it is triggered by arthritis as neck and shoulders are painful past 3 days. It is subsiding however. Will catch up later.

Thanks for the start Karen. I have never been to the trail of lights but have seen it on TV of course. This year it is drive through only. My shoulder hurts after I've been using it more but it doesn't seem quite as bad as yesterday. My IT band was really tight after I took a 2 mile walk. Yes I have had the IPhone XR for over a year now. It wasn't my birthday that was the same as Chele's. It was one of my brothers.
Kathy We had a low of 30 and a high of 65 but it was beautiful this afternoon without a cloud in the sky but more wind. For some reason my phone doesn't give me an option for allowing others to join. It wants me to go to a Verizon site but the page doesn't come up.
Liz It's good to "see" you. It still hurts but hopefully getting a little better. I chatted with my DN on messenger yesterday and she said she can talk without her throat hurting but it's still swollen. She said she feels a little better each day.
Chele I hope you feel better soon.

Liz, we're getting into the 40s at night, so that is wintry for me. If we get down to 28 here, that will be national news! It does happen, just not that often. I agree it's harder when the temperature goes up and down. So sorry to hear about your SM. That is very sad. I've been extra careful with the step stool ever since I missed the step one time and landed on my tush! I'm sure Wally loved the extra romping around in the park. Hope Zoe is doing okay. Stay safe and warm out there! Becky, sorry that didn't work. If it's going to a Verizon page, the hotspot option probably isn't included in your plan. Glad you had a beautiful day there. I think we'll be getting a few of those now that the front has passed through.
Linda, the tree looks beautiful.
Chele, hope that headache disappears soon.
