Good morning...DH up and getting ready for annual neurologist visit (inherited benign tremor).
two of my neighbors in early 70s got COVID a couple weeks ago but are doing ok. Hope that is a trend.I think they had a bunch of family there a week before. But we have horrible scary surge here and 1200 old people suddenly got it after Thanksgiving. They had been being careful, but must have seen family. Also hitting nursing homes again.
I zoned and Micki's insulin was two hours late last night. I can give it one hour early. Called vet this morning...no vets available all week because of COVID surge. They will call vets with your questions and are open for curbside food and meds pick up. Getting extra diabetic food today because factories are getting behind with sick workers. Our flooring transition pieces are now not coming until 12/28. No idea on the side outdoor gate.
I think I May start jigsaw puzzles again. I need to catch up on library books I have too.
stay safe and have a good day.

Thanks for the start, Karen.
Nice and sunny here. We are goo g to warm up to the fifties for a few days.
Yesterday it was bird-a-palooza. We had a pair of blue jays, a pair of wrens, a large adult Cooper’s Hawk, a starling (boo!) and the usual finches, sparrows and chickadees. And they all stuck around even with the hawk lingering.
Hope everyone is having a good day.

Karen, I think government workers should be rewarded with good benefits in retirement, but that shouldn't be the only way to get healthcare. I've been getting more than one delivery a day from the Post Office. They've been doing package deliveries before 8am in some cases. My package that went all over the place was with Pitney Bowes, so not the fault of USPS. I've had issues with UPS and Fedex too, so I think they're all shorthanded. I know they're doing the best they can. Chele, we're in the 50s now, but will be gradually warming up until the next front arrives. Nice to see all the birds! It's been a little slow on the pond lately. I saw that the northern lights can be seen farther south than normal tonight, so it's possible you could get a glimpse of them. They're even showing it might be possible to see them as far south as TN. I would love to see them someday.
Linda, hope all goes well at Bob's appointment.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Linda, I was typing when you posted. Hope all goes well with Bob. All the feeders must have been empty and the fields are all harvested.
Kathy, I forgot to mention the two red bellied woodpeckers and one downy woodpecker. The downy did not go on the feeders. We have been calling him Pepe le Pew because he has a wide white stripe down his back which is unusual for a downy. No footie PJs?! I guess for the once or twice a year you get cold you don’t need them.
Karen, first time since 1917 that OSU and Michigan haven’t played. OSU may not get to play in the Big 10 championship because they haven’t played 6 games. 3 of their games were cancelled due to Covid-19.
Becky, how is your DN feeling? Throat any better?
Liz, How are you doing? How is Zoe? Is Gary’s workplace experiencing any surge?
Denise, how are you holding up?

Kathy do you get AMC+? I've been watching Season 2 of Killing Eve. Did you say you watched A Discovery of Witches? I saw it advertised during Eve and it looks intriguing. We have lost a couple of stations due to negotiations with Dish and apparently those have been replaced with this one. Works for us! Dale watched Walking Dead most of yesterday. Did it get as cold there as was predicted? We were in the 20s this morning but are well above freezing now. We are supposed to get to 60 tomorrow and that will probably feel warm. I agree about the other delivery services also being shorthanded. They work long days and you can't control the weather. UPS used to deliver to the front door but now we get our packages at the gate and it's usually some guy in a car with a UPS vest on. I guess he is meeting the truck at certain locations and taking some packages to deliver before meeting the truck again. I'm kind of surprised the pond has been quiet with all the birds migrating that direction right now.
How are you feeling today, Chele? Has the headache gone totally away? Enjoy that sun and I hope it's not too cold. Good that you had lots of feathered friends to entertain you yesterday. We seem to have a steady stream of "customers" today. Dale saw a large woodpecker yesterday that we haven't seen before but it flew away before I could see and do an ID. I didn't realize teams had to pay at least 6 games to be conference championship eligible. No problem for Clemson, Texas has 3 losses, and Tennessee only has 2 wins on the season. Clemson should be in the ACC championship. Does OSU have additional games scheduled?
Linda, definitely keep Micki's food stocked up. I'm afraid there are going to be shortages of a lot of things beyond TP and hand sanitizer in our future. I have Arya stocked up now with beef, turkey, and sardines (she loves fish). Fingers crossed that your neighbors continue to recover. We should be just about hitting the Thanksgiving spike. That's scary about your vets. I hope we can get Arya's surgery over with on Friday and she'll be good to go for a year. I hope things go well at Bob's appointment. I think I will go to TJ's after Osteo tomorrow to see what kind of things I can get to stock the freezer and what might be good for NYE in a few weeks.
I'm glad the arm seems to be recovering, Becky, but I wish your IT band and knees would cooperate. WM wasn't too crazy shopping yesterday, but they really needed more checkout lanes open. Did you have to go there today? What are you hearing from DN?
Denise, how are things with you? Have you been busy? How are things at your hospital.
How is the scale-up going, Liz? Our daily numbers don't post until 3pm, but we have had over 14K new cases in the past couple of days, which is extremely scary.
I have all the gift cards, etc. put together to send out. DN#3 (the responsible one) and I were texting and she is willing to be the contact point and will get things to her local brothers, sister, and their kids. That will save my having to mail to individual families. I am going to package them and print out priority mail labels so I don't have to go into the PO. I will just drop them off at the mailbox on my way home tomorrow and that will be done. I'm a little sore today after I upped weight levels at the gym yesterday. I still felt like a pansy though because there was a female bodybuilder there who was doing multiple sets of leg presses at 720 lbs. I was lucky to do 1 set of 20 reps at 90 lbs. While I would love to get more muscular, she just looked abnormal with bulging muscles. I don't even see many guys at the gym with those kind of muscles. We have bright sunshine today and have made it into the upper 40s. YAY!

Kathy, no Northern Lights here. Up north and in southern Michigan they have a chance to see them.
Karen, the Big 10 just waived the 6 game requirement so OSU can play. I wouldn’t want to go to post office either right now. Our mail has been coming okay except for one bill that was supposed to be here yesterday still hasn’t arrived. Good thing I pay online. I’ve always wondered why they mail it out since I requested online payment.
We had a little over 10,000 cases of Covid today, 2600 less than yesterday. In Ohio we have a 16.1% positivity rate. I am just hanging on for the vaccine. I think I am more stressed than I thought I was. I have found myself clenching my jaw for no reason. Not good for teeth, jaw, neck or head.

Another record..almost 13,000 cases and 1200 were 65 and over.
I stopped at Safeway when I picked up dog food...checked and it was pretty empty, so I got some stuff they have but Sprouts does not and stashed it...scurried around like a nervous mouse.
I assumed vet just not seeing people for self protection...did that once before, but I wonder if they are quarantined but not the two who answer phones and bring out food or meds in masks while you and your mask stay in car.
They say we might get early tomorrow morning...I cannot remember last time we had rain ....very long hot summer and fall. Even a little rain makes the news here and people post pictures of it.

Thanks for the start Karen.
Linda Good luck to Bob at his appointment.
Chele I haven't talked to DN since the other day. I only get my information about my family on Facebook. They live quite a way from us and I haven't seen her in years.
Karen We had a low of 29 and a high of 80. Remember those wild weather days in Texas. We lost our local NBC channel where we like to watch the news plus WGN America and a few of my shows that are having daily marathons that I DVR are on that one. It's a pain. I don't think DISH has replaced ours with anything. We went to Walmart yesterday. They never have enough checkout lanes open. We need to go tomorrow again because Kenneth thought we had enough eggs and we don't.
