.Bet our cleaning lady is glad this morning I cancelled for today because she could not make up Thanksgiving until floors were done..and was here Sat. Traffic is always crazy in rain here. People do not know to drive right in it.they also actually do not know to turn on defrosters and have not replaced cooked windshield wipers! Glad dentist is not far away. Finally! Rained all night but only really hard just in time for DH out walking dog this morning...his hooded jacket and dog's winter coat were dripping and his sneakers and pants were sopping! Fortunately today was first day I got up early for Micki's shot which was slowly getting later waiting for dawn. Decided to just do it and go back to bed and let DH sleep until light. He has nasty dental work this morning at 8. So I got him fed, coffee done, dog out to pee before the deluge and house warmed before the

Yay for rain, Linda. I hope all went well for Bob at dentist.

We are going to US orchard for apples tomorrow.

Good Late Afternoon Chicks and thanks for the start Chele. Linda - YIKEs on the deluge. Sending good vibes and karma that Bob's dental work went well. How is Micki doing after the very wet walk this morning? The cases are bad and continue to rise each day. We're really not expecting to see the full effects of Thanksgiving until next week. We're in strategic planning again to open more beds as needed. We have plenty of beds but not enough staff. Still about 800 out on quarantine throughout the network. The house looks lovely! The nutsy drivers on the roads are frightening Linda! They have truly just forgotten that they have turn signals, brakes and that there are street lights!! Chele - so happy the headache finally went away! Sounds like you had a bird extravaganza this week at the feeder. Zoe is doing alright thank goodness, just continues to wake me in the middle of the night to take her out. Gary has also seen an uptick but not an actual surge thank goodness. Cuomo is taking a reasonably hard stand and following the numbers in an effort to not let things get too far out of hand. Kathy - happy the hear those branches are settling and the tree is getting fluffy! WOW on those temps you mentioned! You must have thought you were in a strange dream. We are chilly and bright today and possibly tomorrow. The weekend may be rainy. There were a couple snow squalls yesterday in the city and people were freaking out; I was chuckling!! Becky - sorry that the lower part is still so uncomfortable. Sounds like you've had chilly mornings but nice afternoons and that is good weather to me as well. Hope Kenneth and the fur babies are all doing well. Karen - no Christmas tree yet for us. Maybe Gary will get one this weekend. I am off tomorrow but will need to sit through a leadership Zoom from 8-9:am which will deal predominantly with the vaccine. We are due to start it next Tuesday, giving it to our frontline ED teams and the ICU teams. They are still working on the full distribution plan but we are also slated to get some of the Pfizer vaccine as well. So far the grocery store by me seems to be alright with most items. I'm glad we got my DS and Family's gifts out to them early. I still need to get something to MIL but I don't think I'm going to worry about timing at this point. The insurance just approved the gel shot for my right knee again so I am waiting to hear from CVS Specialty so that I can authorize, pay the co-pay and get it to the physiatrist. The dentures should be done on December 22nd. Ironically the dentist told me it will be her last day at the practice that day. She gave me the name of one of the other dentists who would do the adjustments if needed. (sigh). I certainly hope that dentist was tested and virus free when taking off his mask. Similarly, my dentist looked like one of the Star Wars storm troopers. I'm trying to finish up some things so I can get out of here at a decent hour. I hope your sore muscles aren't too bad, and no feeling bad about the over-muscled body builder!! I know I'm preaching to the choir but please be safe and stay well dear ladies. Ciao for now~

Thanks for the start Chele. Beautiful avatar.
Linda Glad you finally got rain. We are hoping to get a little tomorrow.
Liz I have pulled something in my arm and so it's hurting again also. We are expecting a cool front tomorrow and it will be cooler days for awhile. Cases are rising here also. I read where my county's cases have gone up 357% in just the last week and it is mainly people getting lax on wearing masks according to the county doctor. Good luck with getting the shots and your teeth.

Good luck to everyone needing health care and hope your people do not close.
We have broken records for new cases...worse than when we were worst in the world. I still leave the house but only go where there is a lot of room, enforced masks and good ventilation or drive thru. Pretty much have done what is needed for a while.
love when you think you are safe and heavens open after you leave the house. I went to the library to pick up a hold ..armed guard to be sure you are masked at entrance, nobody nearby inside, self check out, sanitizer, and off. About two miles from library it was like somebody pulled the drain plug on the sky! Stopped by the time Icame out.
Bob had two fillings but only made it through one way in the back..which now needs a Crown, not sure about root canal. So that one plus the big problem to go..next Friday. His tooth feels ok, so he wanted arancini from the Sicilian Butcher( deep fried rice and cheese balls with meat filling). We picked up that.
Been mostly catching up on paperwork, watching it rain.

Thanks for the start, Chele. I'm glad you were feeling well enough to be so busy today. I hope you didn't tire yourself out too badly and got a lot accomplished. Pick out some great apples tomorrow. What are you planning to do with them? I stopped at the fish place today and got a couple lbs of really good wild caught Gulf shrimp and a lb of catfish filets. I had the former for dinner tonight with zoodles, garlic, and parm. Tomorrow I plan to make peanut crusted catfish, which is a favorite dish of Dale's that is no longer on the menu at our favorite local chain (due to so many people with peanut allergies).
Did you see the Colorado State 2021 hurricane predictions, Kathy? Not good news! How goes it with the decorations? Have you decided what to do on health insurance yet? We got into the 60s today and it felt warm! How were things there?
Linda, that's a pretty nasty weather map! Sorry things didn't go so well for Bob at the dentist, especially after the awful wet walk this morning. How is Bob feeling this evening? What did he feel like for dinner? I guess Micki doesn't mind the rain as much as Arya does. We said the same thing about Austin drivers and rain when we lived there. The roads aren't sloped to facilitate runoff there and that's a huge issue. I didn't see the chocolate gnocchi at TJ's. I was also looking for the olive bites as something that would good for NYE. I did find a couple of things, but not as much as I had hoped for. I saw the waxed amaryllis and almost got one.
Good to see you, Liz. Staffing is a problem everywhere, so it's not like you can import them like the first surge. How strange on your dentist! Is she quitting practice entirely or going someplace else? I hope you won't need many adjustments. It will be good to get your permanent teeth and maybe things can be a bit more normal for you. Yay on the approval for the shot. I really pushed it at the gym today and the knees are not happy this evening. You stay safe as well. I worry about you and Denise. The rest of us can avoid, but you two are in the middle of it. At least the vaccine is coming and I hope you'll be included, even though you aren't officially first line.
Becky, that's a scary jump in cases in just a week! I know you and Kenneth are being diligent about masking. Other than the gym, I have to say that everyone around here is pretty good. Granted, there are still a few who don't get that both nose and mouth needs to be covered. You said a cool front and not a cold front, so I hope it won't be too bad.
Busy day here, even for a Thursday. I dropped off recycling then went to the PO to post the Christmas gifts going out of town. I already had labels paid for and printed, so I just dumped them in the drop box. Next I stopped at a pet store to get Arya a soft cone so she won't have to deal with the "cone of shame". Osteo was next, followed by TJ's, then the gym. The MG director called me on my way this morning to ask if I could stop by the office to sign award certificates from Monday, so I stopped there on the way home. By the time I got home and got the car unloaded, it was time for Arya's dinner so I didn't get to get my legs up and heat on the knees until after dinner. We take Arya in about 7:30am for her dental and cyst removal, which looks about half the size it was when we saw the vet last week. I mentioned doing leadership training at the meeting on Monday evening and the state MG coordinator was on the Zoom with us. I got an email from her yesterday evening and she is really excited about it. She wants some of her statewide leadership team to participate and even mentioned opening it statewide, which I'm a little reluctant about for the first time out. I told her I could do a 2nd one and open it or would be willing to share my outline. Now I just need to start building the curriculum. After we get home from dropping her off, I have a bunch of laundry to do and I'm going to move some furniture to get heavy duty vacuuming done, which is hard to do with a hound underfoot. I'll probably also change the bed a day early. Don't know what time we'll be allowed to pick her up. I hope she doesn't give them too much grief about being crated there.
Waving to Denise. Hope things are going well.
