Good morning friends. Another great sleeping night and another day of NOT having to shop! All win win in my book.
Yesterday the day just seemed to fly by. No clue why and I was exhausted and took a nap after supper. Our cheeseburgers air fries and a few air fried rings were fantastic.
Pam I feel your frustration. Nothing worse than losing a post...especially a LONG one at that! Happy to hear that DH CVT appt. went well and he is one and done till February. Great job on your 3 mile walk, cleaning and finishing the book. Praying today is a less hectic day for you.
Wishing all a stress free and OP day. Will CBL

Hi all,
Pam, I’m sorry that you lost your post. I hate when that happens! Glad to hear that your DH is progressing so well with the wound healing. You did do a lot yesterday was a long walk and all of that.
I was absolutely exhausted by 2 o’clock yesterday when the movers and shakers left. A crew of four came in with 3 men and one woman. Woman really went to town on cabinets and packed up about 10 bins worth of stuff we are getting rid of. They filled a huge U-Haul with things for the shop and for donations and one small pick up truck for things to the dump. I wound up handing over three very old sea captains trunks that were sitting in the basement probably for at least 100 years. I know that some of them dates back to 1800 and before but they were in very poor shape and doing us no good.He gets to the point where I don’t even care if they’re worth money because they are worthless to us sitting here and we don’t want to bring them into the new house. Glad some of these very old things will go to his antique shop and hopefully someone will purchase them and restore them. Besides the trunks, there were a lot of very old items there. The crew is due back today to work on the main floor and I hustled around last night trying to pack more loose things that we will need to keep for now. They brought two twin beds in frames down for us to sleep on tonight. It feels very weird here butWill feel a lot weirder tonight when we are on two lousy little twins finishing up what needs to be done. The water get shut off on Monday and the utilities are slated for Tuesday and Wednesday. We will both head home on Sunday and that will be it for a while until the demolition. After the crew left, I did not have one step left me and sat down in my easy chair only to see the builder drive into the driveway. He’s a great guy but he’s very long-winded and he knew we had the moving crew coming today. I decided to wait to see if he was just checking out things with the septic system, etc. And I did not go running out into the yard. My eyes were nearly closed and he never did come to the door so I assumed he was just doing his job getting for demolition. I fell asleep for about an hour and then the doggies and I had another long walk and I dashed out to pick up a fast food dinner which I have to say I did not enjoy one bit! We hardly ever eat fast food and last nights burger reminds me why. Will stick to fish and salads for the rest of the weekend from restaurants. The stove, fridge, microwave and more will be gone by this afternoon. I have a bunch of frozen stuff that I think I will give to the movers if they want it.
I really never thought we’d get here and it is still overwhelming but one step at a time. I so look forward to relaxing for a couple of weeks before Christmas. Our last official day of work is the 16th so by this time next week I’ll be in my easy chair with my books.
DD had a settlement conference yesterday with her new attorney and both of them came out very discouraged. Her ex refuses to disclose his salary and bonuses so now her attorney filed a motion and they will have to subpoena his company. My DH said that must look very bad to his employers that he’s not supporting his family and that DHhas to go to this lengths to see his earnings which are very substantial.I feel badly that she’s going into more debt on her own and she worries how she’ll ever get out of it. I told her that he will have to listen to a judge. There is one more settlement conference in February and if that fails, they’ll go to a hearing and let the judge decide. Her new attorney has a plan but with her ex, it’s like pulling teeth and he even argues about one or $200! He’s impossible and despicable.
I better get rolling because the movers and shakers are due here in about 10 minutes. Wish me luck because it’s going to be another long day for this old gal and a difficult weekend with all the little stuff we have to do. But we will get there. I really wish the DH was with me for all of this stuff now but his project is running up on deadlines and he has to work in Boston right now. He’s conscientious to a fault and that’s a good quality.
Back later enjoy your day and Ann, enjoy your shopping-less day.
Waving to Sue!

Judy you really have a lot on your plate with the move house downsizing and what you DON'T need is grief from you know who!!!!! Praying that it all goes well for DD and also praying that you get to sit and relax once the move is one and done. You are almost there.....focus on that happy outcome. I know...easier said than done. Sheets are done drying...I'm about ready to hit the shower. I had a cheese omelet and half Bay's English muffin for breakfast with a small bowl of green and red grapes. Looked very festive Lunch will the the other half of the muffin with laughing cow cheese topped with a sliced tomato and my soup and supper I am leaning toward a chicken cheese rice and veggie casserole. I have it all in the fridge...just a matter of dumping it in a pan and heating it in the oven I love quick and easy. Waving...and will CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~ TGIF!! We have sunshine again this morning, though it is unexpected. The clouds are predicted to start moving in around mid-day so I will try to get my walking done before that (might as well get that free dose of Vit D). Ann ~ Congrats times two for great sleeping AND no shopping. I usually shop on Wednesday or Thursday, but yesterday checked my list and didn't need anything, so I didn't go. I am growing increasingly worried about the stores with all the warnings on TV. Judy ~ Wow! You really have accomplished a lot in a short amount of time! You're my hero!! Glad to hear you are taking care of yourself. I would have had the same reaction to fast food. I didn't eat it before the pandemic, why start now?? But you do have extenuating circumstances Hope today goes better (or at least as well) for you! You're on the home stretch now and moving right along. Pam ~ My sympathies also. I recently lost a lengthy post and it was very distressing! It seems these days that things that wouldn't bother me as much are taking on an unwelcome importance. Much as I like to think this pandemic isn't doing much to change me, I am starting to see little traces of it. But maybe that is also because of the holidays, which tend to bring more old feelings to the surface. I am just trying to handle it one day at a time. I am still trying to secure an appointment with the Secretary of State for my driver's license renewal. I have to go online at exactly 8 a.m. for the next day's morning or exactly 12 noon for the next day's afternoon. I actually got through this morning! and it had me fill out an information form, and by the time I clicked "submit" it told me that appointment time was already gone. What?? Oh well .... I have time so I guess I'll keep trying. But that kind of thing hanging over my head really irks me. I want to do it and be DONE! Last night's supper was good and left two servings for another night. Today I had my FF Greek yogurt & blackberries w/F1 for breakfast. I plan to have veggie/bean soup for lunch. Tonight's supper is still up in the air. I have the makings for Pork Fried Rice in the fridge, but we'll wait and see. I am looking forward to my three day weekend. Then next week we work four days then Christmas break for two whole weeks. I heard they are interviewing for Taylor's assistant (my position) so that will be nice for her. I am thinking I will talk to the new principal (who had promised not to put me back on furlough) about offering to go back to my usual hours (which are 10 to 2:30) after I am not needed in Taylor's classroom. I would prefer a shorter day. Off to finish cleaning the coffee maker and then out for a walk. BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi All ~ It really is funny the little things that just drive me crazy!! Like trying to secure an appointment for my DL renewal. BUT, I finally got through and secured one (though at a different location). I have completed all the paperwork and wrote out the check and everything is in my envelope. It should be slick and quick!! I also made an appointment to get my hair trimmed next Friday afternoon.
I also got out for a great walk! There is no wind, and tons of sunshine. Since it is 50 dg, I may shoot for a second one. I do feel better now that I'm not being aggravated by that stupid website with insufficient instructions (IMHO).
Hope you are all doing well ......

Absolutely beautiful weather here. I wssn't going to walk, but when I opened up the slider to the screen room that changed my mind. I was in the middle of sorting piles of laundry and didn't want to leave.....oh well....I am on load #2 now I clocked in 3.24 miles and happy about that. I may just go again...we shall see. Right now, after I post, I'm going to take clothes out of the dryer and pour me a cup of coffee. I've earned it LOL. Sue so happy that the Registry of Motor Vehicles is all set. Hopefully you will be in and out in record time. Also great that you have an appointment for a cut. Nice that you have a three and four day weekend to look forward to Well, I'm going to get a move on so that I can RELAX once again. I may even finish my book today Later........

Moving right along, I got a gift ready to take with me next Friday and wrote out a Christmas card to go with it.
Our Secretary of State offices are operating on appointment only (which is why I had to keep trying to get one) and they are scheduled a half hour apart and presume each transaction will take 20 minutes. I don't think mine will even take that long, but that's okay. I remember the days of walking into a full room and taking a number, then waiting forever!!
Funny story - one year DH was doing some heating and cooling work for a man who owned a slew of buildings downtown. One of them housed the Secretary of State office. During one blistering hot summer, he got a call with a request to fix the A/C in that building. When he went in the gals were so happy to see him! just sure he would have it working in minutes. I wish I could have seen their faces when he said very seriously "you'll have to take a number and I'll call you". He laughed about that for days!
DH and I decided we'd have pizza tonight. We have half of our favorite one from the last time so I took it out of the freezer to get ready to be warmed in the oven. If DH is home early, he'll make his famous tossed salad; otherwise I will make a tossed salad before he gets home.
Our sunshine has gone away and I think I will read this afternoon. Sending happy thoughts .....

Lol Sue....thanks for sharing that funny story. Your DH has the same humor as Carl.
Pizza is always a good choice.
I am exhausted. Laundry is done finished my coffee now going to throw together the casserole so I can either nap or read.
Later.

Hi again all,
Well, the clean out crew was short two people today so the two of them that were here worked for about three hours finishing all the basement and taking care of a lot of our family room area. They left to easy chairs for us and our beds. He’s coming back tomorrow with his full crew to do the living room, our bedroom except for our bed and then he’ll be back on Sunday or Monday to finish up by noon for sure on Monday. So, one day at a time and it’s getting done.
So, I relate to your problems with the registry of motor vehicles. I switched out plates when I sold my car back in September and I had to order new plates because one of them was damaged. Can you believe I still have not received the new plates. I called and waited a good 45 minutes on hold about a month ago and the guy told me that they are taking 12 to 14 weeks to get the plates out. It’s just about that length of time so I wonder if my plates got lost. I did check my registration online and it looks good with no issues so if I don’t hear, I’ll have to order replacement plates again I guess. Sometimes they are impossible to deal with and make things so difficult.
I am also running into a repetitive loop of frustration with the bank on the construction loan for the new house. Everything is set except they keep saying they need the builders risk insurance policy. We took it out and our agent e-mailed it to her but she keeps asking me for it and she seems confused and not to realize that she already has it. Its written across the top - Builders Risk. It’s complicated with a modular home because the modular company carries all the insurance for transport and until it lands on our property. It is picked up by the crane company once they touch the home. Plus our home builder carries coverage too. So we are triple covered. Once it gets on the foundation, our builders risk covers it all the way through until it is finished. Then it flips over to regular homeowners insurance. I don’t think my credit union has dealt with much of this because they seem completely baffled. If I have to take out a two day policy for builders risk on our own, it will cost close to $2000 and is totally unnecessary. Two days is the maximum the house will be on the property before it is set on the foundation and the Modular company has written letters and sent their insurance certificates to our bank. Oh well, it will get straightened out because we have done absolutely everything we can but it’s so frustrating at times. We’ve gone back and forth on the same thing over and over. Hopefully, the underwriters will understand the process. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Sorry to vent!
DD called and we had a very nice chat. The good thing is she has a lot of faith in her current attorney and he seems to be on the ball. If her ex does not shape up and produce what he is required to produce, the next step will be in front of a judge. He argues about absolutely every little thing that he will spend tens of thousands of dollars fighting over complete pettiness. I’ll send a private note.
waving to Pam and hope you’re having a good day too.
And, I’m glad you had a nice long walk today as it sure was a beautiful day. You are the laundry queen today! I stripped the sheets the covers and everything off our bed thinking that they would be taking it today. All the sheets are clean but now I have to make it back up again. And, they were clean when I took them off - ha ha so they’ll be doubly clean -that’s all. Our sunset here at the Cape was spectacular tonight. My lunch was a lot healthier than my dinner last night as I just ordered a salad with some chicken on top of that did the trick. DH is on his way and I’m not sure yet what we’ll have for dinner as we will be eating out all weekend since the fridge is empty and unplugged. I’m striving for healthier foods and maybe some baked fish. Ttfn

Good evening friends! I slept good last night except for a period of hip pain, no matter which side I lay on. Since it is still hurting off and on today, I am thinking it is a result of putting my inserts in my walking shoes. They correct my gait and it will probably take a couple days for my body to adjust again. I had taken them out because they made a squishing sound with every step that was very annoying. Apparently, they have aged enough because they no longer make the sound. The extra padding has helped my feet feel better. After Christmas I will order new shoes. HH nurse came by first thing this morning and was excited at the progress with DH's wound. Afterwards, I got Abby's birthday gifts wrapped, a watch and a bike helmet, and two of DH's 3 gifts wrapped and put under the tree. Debbie and her husband Pete came by to return some equipment he had borrowed from DH. We spent a fun half hour standing outside chatting and exchanging travel escapade stories. It did DH a world of good, I'm sure, to have another man to chat with for a bit. Later, Debbie and I walked. It was quite warm today--low 70's--but rain and a cold front are coming soon. We tracked Abby down at her other grandma's house and sang happy birthday to her. Today is her "real" birthday and she requested a sleepover with Mimi. Her party is Sunday afternoon and will be limited to her grandparents and siblings and Auntie Rae. Poor kid! With a December birthday, DD1 had decided to start celebrating Abby's birthday in the summer, when she could have a water slide and kids would actually come, since it wouldn't be in competition with all the Christmas parties and activities. Then came Covid. Now, with CV numbers climbing, they are unable to do it now, either, so she just kind of misses out. But she is a happy child and will family around, presents and a cake, she will be thrilled. I was up .2 at WI, which is not bad considering the snacking I have done the past couple days. I will be upping the fruit and veggies and planning healthy snacks this week. Breakfast was yogurt, muesli and blueberries. Lunch was a bowl of WW chili and cucumber slices with hummus. Dinner was a baked potato and fried shrimp. We ordered takeout from one of the village cafes and they forgot my salad. Again. I will really have to watch next time. They seem to get confused when I tell them no salad dressing. She even asked me if I still wanted the salad and I said yes, but they still left it out. Oh well. I am full and have shrimp leftover for tomorrow's lunch. Judy - Part of last night's "poofed" post was to tell you I know it's hard to say goodbye to this house that was so much a part of you. I can at least still drive by my childhood home and see it. But your new house will have somewhat the same view as the old house, so you are saving the best part. It is so sad to see parents play games trying to hurt each other, when it's the kids who pay the price. I sincerely hope a judge will eventually nail his a** to the barn door and make him pay up everything he has cheated those kids out of thus far. Tell DD to take the high road and keep fighting for her children's benefit. As an older black woman once told me, "God don't like ugly." His day of judgement will come. Sue - What a relief it must have been to finally get your DL appt. set up! Something so simple and so necessary should not be so hard! DH's reply to the office workers made me laugh! Here it's the DMV and the last time I went in, the take-a-number wasn't even working. I would have loved to have seen their faces, lol. A walk in the sunshine is hard to beat as a mood-lifter! Ann - Good sleep makes for a good day. You are the walking queen of our little group. I aspire to be as faithful to it as you are. I really enjoyed the Barbara Freethy book, so thanks for the recommendation. I give thanks for all the prayers for DH's recovery. We are watching Home Alone and chuckling even though we have seen it several times before. Have a great and restful night!
