It is kind of funny to see the libs twisting themselves in a pretzel to say, it might be the right thing to do, but DT is a big poopy head. They trusted their slick tongued hero to handle it better, yet he did nothing.

Nice to see that President Trump is a man of action and is willing to take the necessary steps to keep the world safe. Ginny

True.
You know it takes a lot of gall to be complaining about the senate changing the rules to get what they want, after their leadier Reid is the one who did it to begin with. Do we honestly thing they won't do the same thing when they get their shot again.
I am just so glad the republicans are showing they have a backbone for a change. Hopefully, they will get stronger and stronger. Dems do whatever it takes to get their way, it is past time for the republicans to do the same thing. I spent 8 years holding down the vomit while many of the republicans bent over in fron of BO.
Success breeds success, so maybe having a leader that has guts has influenced some of them.

Wow....PRESIDENT Trump does not drag his feet and mess around. And now Susan Rice's comments a few months ago about how the Obama administration got Syria to destroy all of their chemical weapons so that we did not have to use force? I have no words. Obama's "red line" had been crossed many times and yet nothing happened. and the big news of the day...Gorsuch's confirmation to the Supreme Court. I have to admit that I'm a little confused....the vote was 54-45 with 3 Dems crossing party lines. Does this mean they didn't use the Harry Reid Nuke? I haven't been able to pay much attention....but it doesn't really matter. This is another reason why Trump won......people realized that a Supreme Court nominee under Hillary could span three generations or more. From conversations I've had with some people....it all came down to the Supreme Court. Anyone see Hillary's latest "speech" about why she lost? Because people don't like women with power. Is she delusional? 90% of the media propped her up. Whereas 90% of the media was disgusting to Sara Palin. Hillary should just go back into the woods. I don't think anyone is buying her truckload of manure. Choney....glad to "see" you here. Meg...I understand your dilemma. It's really hard....many friends I know won't move out of state because of elderly parents. Your DD is lucky to have you as her mom. And there are lots of people in your state that feel the way you do....unfortunately they get shouted down and out by the libs. So sad...California was a beautiful place to visit, but I no longer have any desire to go there. I have been reading terrible things about the conditions in San Francisco too....people with disabilities are filing a lawsuit because the BART elevators they have to use because of their wheelchairs are feces and urine infested and they don't get cleaned....gross!!! But you do have great weather. Lin

I have made it a rule to never click on any story that has Hillary's comments or opinions. I mean really what difference does it make now anyway?

Quite an end to our week. President Trump going into action in Syria and Judge Gorsuch has been confirmed to serve on the Supreme Court. Congratulations, I wish I wish him well.
Lin, California was a nice place to live when we first came here. My DH was in the Air Force stationed here. He retired here and Ca. was one of the states at that time that had programs for the developmentally disabled. The roads here are in terrible condition. They added a gas tax years ago that money was to fix the roads but the democrats who are always in power used the money on their pet projects. Now Gov. Brown has announced that he will add a new gas tax to fix the roads 12cents per gallon. That will really hurt low income people and businesses in other words the cost of living will go up. This should have been voted on by ballot instead Gov Brown has taken it upon himself to make the increase. California is already one of the highest taxed states.

What's funny is that a Republican/Conservative can do the exact same thing a Democrat/Liberal would do and still be vilified by the Democrats/Liberals. Take the nuclear option to get Justice Gorsuch on the Supreme Court. Harry Reid did the same thing and nary a ripple among the Democrats, but let the Republicans do it and all h*ll breaks lose on the liberal side. They did it to themselves.
In the meantime a Russian warship is heading toward the two US ships in the Mediterranean Sea but analysts are saying it's just for show. They wouldn't dare attack our ships if they don't want to be sunk.

Oh, and welcome back Ginny. I see you on the Crafters thread all the time but miss you on the Conservative thread. Don't have time for crafts myself. Too busy keeping up with the household duties, doing the job of both husband and wife.
"Staycation" is over. Back to work tomorrow. I got a lot done, but the office is still a mess.

I am so glad our President acted quickly and I am also glad he told the media he wasn't telling them crap and that they would see what he does. Obama and his people were so busy patting him on the back but he was useless as President. He stirred up racial tensions. Didn't matter one iota that he ended up having a beer with that cop - the damage was already done.

It was a busy "day of rest" at church today. I gave the opening prayer in our sacrament services. Then I distributed the 2nd quarter Sunday School roll sheets to the classes. Then I opened the gospel doctrine Sunday School class. Finally in third hour I taught my high priests group lesson.
Here's a local story about a truck driver who was harassed by woman brandishing a gun:
CENTRAL – A woman is behind bars tonight after allegedly brandishing a handgun during an altercation with a semi-truck driver on Norton Road. The road has previously been the center of complaints about semi-trucks traveling at speeds greater than safe for the neighborhood as they traverse to Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc.’s Safford Operations Mine.
Law enforcement was dispatched to the area of Norton Road and Pauls Lane in Central at about 5:38 p.m., Saturday, regarding the incident.
According to a witness at the scene, a woman in a purple tie-dye T-shirt emerged from a residence and threw some sort of liquid onto a passing semi-truck. After the driver pulled over, the woman began cursing at the driver and said the road belonged to her and to stop driving on it. The suspect was later identified as Jamie Hester, according to Graham County Undersheriff Jeff McCormies. Hester then allegedly pulled a black handgun from her waist in her backside and brandished it with her finger on the trigger as she continued to yell at the truck driver.
There were children in the area at the time of the incident, according to the witness, and a passing motorcyclist stopped and told the children to run inside.
After the authorities were called, both Hester and a second woman fled the scene. Graham County deputies and officers with the Safford Police Department responded to the scene with their guns drawn as they looked for the two individuals. After not finding them inside the house, both subjects were located hiding in a mesquite tree behind the house and both were handcuffed and taken into custody.
This story caught my interest because I had just talked to the truck driver's wife at Walmart regarding the incident. She said the liquid the woman threw at the truck appeared to be urine. Her husband "calmly" pulled out his cellphone and called the police while filming the incident. Don't think I would have had the presence of mind to do that.
