Good morning all...another great sleeping night for which I'm most grateful. Praying today will be less gloomy out there. I did get out for a walk and it was okay walking....just not as fun as it could have been if the weather were better.
Judy again you and DH are moving right along. Happy you got to see the fun FaceTime video. Bet that was the highlight of your day...along with finding the treasured letters from your DM. I had to LOL at Alexa...here Carl is very hard of hearing, so I don't bother with the button for her not to announce what is coming Of course, that may change once he gets his hearing aids LOL. Today I plan on doing a few household chores... I hear you on the eating, Judy. I do fine during the day...it's the nighttime munchies that I need to curb. I've been saying this for the past few days and I'm not quite there yet Waving...and will CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Sunday!! DH and I are celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary today. Our DGS in Florida asked if we were going to do anything special to celebrate? Gave me pause to wonder what there was to do. There are some 'light shows' in the area, but I don't really want to be out in a crowd of people. We have been so careful all this time, it would be foolhardy to get lax now. So we are having a shrimp treat for our lunch and then grilling some strip steaks (as big as your head) for supper with roasted vegetables.
I slept very restless last night for some reason. I dreamed a lot, and one actually woke me up and I had trouble falling back to sleep. Hopefully tonight will be better. Somehow I had something on my mind that wouldn't 'be still'. Yesterday it rained all morning, then the sun came out so I went for my walk, then it opened up and just poured (along with thunder) in the afternoon. Good timing for me!
Ann ~ So glad you slept well and got out for a walk. I have already been out for a walk and it does blow the cobwebs away!! It is cold here, around 30 and grey dreary outdoors. But I bundled up and took off and got 'er done. I feel so much better when I do, plus my jeans are getting looser.
Judy ~ So glad to hear you are making such progress with your house. I can really relate to your DH wanting to do it all as mine is the same way. I hesitate to remind him that he's not 30 anymore (WHAT!?!) but I do feel very protective of his poor beat-up heart. Actually Alexa has a setting to have her stop announcing the contents of each package. I just had to go into the app on my phone and change the notifications setting. I never noticed it so much until it became Christmas gifts. I wanted some work sweatshirts for DH and had trouble finding them in my price range until I shopped Amazon clothing. They are nicely fluffy and thick but were very affordable.
Pam ~ Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. When I get in a downswing, I tend to think I am the only one and it is a very lonely feeling. Then when friends mention struggling (however much or little) with the same thing, it really lifts me right up! Ditto on being careful on the ice. I have been wearing a pair of hiking boots for walking and think they'll work well as it gets colder (icier). I certainly do feel sure-footed when I wear them.
This afternoon will be a nice relaxing one for us. DH is gone to Kroger for our fruits/vegetables this morning and then the rest of the day will be ours. I know he has a football game he wants to watch later and I would like to read some more of my (Christmas) book.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Well happy to say that the household chores are behind me Carl left late morning for a BJ's run. He truly is a godsend. I gave him a list and said if he found anything that looked 'interesting' to pick that up as well LOL...Gotta give them a little leeway I put on disco music via Alexa and 'went to town' Last thing that I did what put sugar cookie spice in the scentsy burner. Smells like a bakery in here LOL...I just hope it doesn't trigger my appetite. Sue I am so very sorry that you had a restless night. Sometimes that happens when your mind just won't shut down or you have a strange dream......My last strange and upsetting dream was trying desperately to get out of a tire warehouse. I could even smell the rubber. Guess when I dream I go 'all out' I hope you sleep well tonight. Happy 29th Wedding Anniversary I hope you have a wonderful relaxing day. We did nothing for our anniversary this year and for the same reason....also did nothing for my bday. I was quite content to stay home have a good meal and be SAFE! The only walking that I did so far was to take miss LuLa out back and down a little path. It was quite messy walking...happy I had my boots on as she tend to PULL on the leash. She 'did her thing' and was happy coming back home. Me as well LOL. It's nice when we are on the same wavelength She is now on her section of the sectional very content. Not sure what is for supper. I am hoping that Carl brings home a rotisserie chicken...if not we can have a nice salad (have all the fixings) with a sandwich. Just something quick and easy. I know he'll be tired when he gets back from shopping. Right now, sitting with a cup of reduced calorie Swiss Miss and my kindle sounds like a plan. Wishing all a wonderful Sunday!

Well Carl came home. No paper towels but he scored Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer. He did a good job with the 'extras' as well. I was thrilled that he had a rotisserie chicken among the treasurers. That'll be supper for tonight with a salad and either rice or potato and the rest will be for during the week. I've forgotten how HUGE the warehouse chickens are! Makes the ones at Hannaford's look like pigeons LOL.
We took miss LuLa for a walk. I can't believe how beautiful it is out there. We really enjoyed walking.
Now time for a coffee......I want to sit and relax before supper.

Hi All ~
DH came home with everything I wanted plus some "goodies" for us. They weren't as healthy as a rotisserie chicken <LOL> because they were Turtle Chex Mix and some kind of Reese's coated pretzels.
We had our shrimp treat for our lunch, along with some flavored almonds. We have decided to wait a while for supper. DH brought home a package of butternut squash cubes which I put on a cookie sheet along with a bunch of asparagus and will roast them for supper. They will round out our meal with our steaks.
Ann ~ We have tried rotisserie chickens from so many different places, and we still by far prefer Sam's Club! Their flavor is outstanding, and they are HUGE! I had to laugh at your comparison to a pigeon because that's how I feel about the ones at Meijer. They provide one meal, whereas Sam's is three.
It is still very dreary outside, just a totally grey day!! I have all the soft lights on inside, and the living room is looking quite cozy! I'm glad we're staying indoors.
Later .....

Lol Sue. I much prefer the bigger bird. OMG those Reese's pretzels are to DIE for. Good luck trying to reel yourself in. I caved big time.
We had an early supper. Now we have more time to relax and hopefully not snack 😋

Good evening!
I just got back from a lovely afternoon at DD1's house. DH and I did a grocery pickup and then went to DD's about 1:00 for Abby's unicorn birthday party. She was so excited! She got lots of presents from her grandparents and aunts & uncle. (Her parents gave her her other gifts on her real birthday Friday.) We decorated cookies in unicorn colors and enjoyed birthday cake and ice cream. Then the DD's, Anna and I curled up and watched White Christmas while Abby played with her new toys. DH drove himself home after the birthday celebration, the first time he has driven since July, and came back to get me after the movie was over. We won't mention any of this to the HH nurse, of course.
Today was fairly warm and even a little sunny when I went to Mass this morning, but clouded over by the time Debbie and I walked. We met up with a neighbor walking his dog on a leash. Unfortunately, he didn't reel the leash in enough and she went for me. I jumped in time and she butted my leg, but didn't get teeth in. I was surprised because I used to play fetch with her during hospice visits to his wife just a few months ago, but she has been increasingly aggressive towards me. A few weeks ago, she was running loose and nearly bit Debbie during our walk. I plan to call his daughter and let her know what's going on. He is deeply grieving his wife and I don't want to upset him, but this situation has gotten untenable. Dee says the dog has gotten after her when she was riding her 3 wheeled bike in the neighborhood.
I had scrambled eggs with turkey crumbles and cheese and Dave's toast for brunch. Then I had 2 cookies, a small piece of cake, ice cream and popcorn at DD1's, so I know I am WAY over points for the day/week, but I enjoyed every bite. Dinner tonight is stuffed squash, corn and coleslaw.
After two late nights, I am planning an early bedtime after some reading. I hope you all have a safe and restful night!

Sounds like Abby had a wonderful bday party. I don't blame you for making the call about the dog. We have a lady that lives in our retirement community that lets her dog run off leash. That dog has bitten her the letter carrier and UPS guy. I can't tell you how many times he's been quarantined to no avail. I don't get it. It's to the point where not many walk by her house.
Enjoy your early to bed night.
