Fyi, the coughing goes away after I get vertical again in the morning and get rid og the accumulated goop in my throat from lying down...slide down the extra pillows!
I would like to bake, but DH gets so much German stuff and dsil sends Italian cookies...we are awash in stuff we should not eat.
Yea! the gate came early and we now have a brand new side gate for the dog walks and taking out the trash to curb. no more unlocking two front doors with impatient critter wanting to scratch the door. just waiting now for the transition between rooms pieces for kitchen, bath, and laundry.( ordered Oct 6) ....currently taped.
looks like I will be raking leaves again ..37 this morning

Becky, I'm glad the longer walk in the wind on Sunday didn't come back to bite you yesterday. The frito pie was good and will be good for a long time because it made about 8 servings and neither of us had a full serving last night. Neither of us can remember the last time we had frito pie. It was nice for a change. How are the muscles and tendons today? I saw a sale at one of our online bike stores for a Theragun percussive massager and was tempted until I saw that the cheapest one was $250. And they wanted an extra $59 for the charging stand. I might have done gotten one for Dale for Christmas if it had been $99.
Too bad ACC Network won't have a free preview on Saturday so you could watch the game, Kathy. I don't know how entertaining the TN game is going to be. Might be worse than the Georgia game. I caught the first episode of A Discovery of Witches on Netflix. Unfortunately, the rest of the episodes require premium services.
Chele, are you expecting wintery weather tomorrow? Most of ours will be rain, but it could get a bit dicey over night and into Thursday morning. Sorry about the lost post. We seem to take turns on that for some reason. I hope your sinuses aren't acting up this week. How's the PF doing? Do you have all your shopping done? What are you hearing from the nieces and nephews with covid?
I can relate to the throat goop, Linda. Mine is usually a little higher--in my nose. Most mornings I wake up stopped on one side and it's not always the same side. I get that cleared out and I'm ok. Isn't 37 a bit cool for you, even this time of year? We were just a few degrees cooler this morning. I did hit a few slick spots going to the gymn and to run errands. Yes, baking may not be a good idea with all you have available already. What kind of Italian cookies do you have? Congrats on the new gate! Sounds like it will get a lot of use.
Liz, someone asked about Chef yesterday and I was wondering, too. Is he still in the hospital?
What's the forecast at your house, Denise? Are you expecting snow?
Since getting home from the gym, I've been pretty tired for some reason. I dropped off a load of recycling, took a package for my GF to the PO drop box, and took a quick trip through the bank drive-thru on the way, so I didn't do a whole lot. Fortunately, dinner is rewarming frito pie. I did reach out to my MG committee chairs from last year to invite them to stay on for this year. I've heard from several and we are in good shape. I do have one slot to fill but have asked a new person to take that on.

Good Afternoon Chicks and thanks for the start Karen. Chele - I'm so sorry you lost the long post. I have had that happen too many times previously and it drives me bonkers! How is the weather there? Yes, we are gearing up for a major n'or easter. The city prediction is 4-10 and keeps changing. Up north by me it's 12-18" so I have already talked to my boss. I will leave early before they stop the trains and work from home on Thursday. Hopefully we will have power as they are also talking about 40-50 mph winds. I'm glad you didn't go into the PO with all those people. Please continue to stay safe and well! Kathy - It's cold here but not frigid, there's a great deal of moisture apparently coming up from the south which will impact the snow amounts according to the weather guessers. How is the Christmas tree coming? Are you all ready now for next week? Becky - very glad you weren't paying for your 2 mile walk. We are only going to be in the low 40s today and then high of just about freezing tomorrow. How is the arm doing? Linda - great news about the gate! Hope those allergies subside some for you. That drip can be so annoying. Really loved the picture of the backyard. We received the vaccine today and have started distributing it. Had heavy security when it got here and during the transport. We are remaining hopeful that it will be a big positive step for everyone but most especially our frontline care givers. ED and ICU teams will be first wave and then strategically moving throughout the house. Karen - Just trying to get through the craziness of bigger numbers but not as bad as surge 1 right now. There's a great deal of speculation that we haven't seen the worst yet due to Christmas and New Years coming. How are you feeling? Any news on your friend? I was up with Zoe twice last night; once at midnight with Wally and then again at 3:am. I'm just hoping I will be able to get home tomorrow before they shut down the trains. How is Arya doing and how is the ear? Have you made any decisions about the MG training? What will you be making for the holiday? I still don't know what I will be able to make and eat. New teeth supposed to be ready on 12/22 and it's the dentist's last day so any adjustments will have to be done by someone else in the practice UGH! Ironically we're at 95% census right now with the ED booming. Moonriver/Denise - hope you're able to stay safe and that work isn't too busy for you. I'm off to see how we're doing for this evening and then trying to get home. Be safe and stay well dear ladies!! Ciao for now~

Fingers crossed that all goes well, Liz.
Had to call cable company because internet goes down every morning and today again at noon. Nota good sign. They do not find anything wrong but suggest might be time to replace modem. Called their local place..doesn't answer must leave message, and I do not want to go there and be disappointed with no cable internet phone at home because I have the modem with me to swap! I want a back up battery in this one for phone with power outage (have an old phone I can connect). Wish I had never changed to cable phone.
It is a good idea to refresh routers once in a while (reboot) to reestablish best connection. Phones too.we tend tikes e devices in all the time.
I still mail cards..Actually this year to some local friends I do not get to see this year. I like getting mail that is not bills or junk!
weird day.got up , made breakfast, felt chipper. Gate got installed early..yea. DH has all the boxes emptied and Room is cleared..lots of books in shelves in stacks yet. Yea. Decided to take a lie on the sofa and read day. Got up and made brownies. Lovely dog walk weather. Somehow halfway through the day with a good mystery I got depressed and anxious for no reason! Maybe It just feels too good to have a good day? Mood changes can come before migraines...hope not. It is a waiting for the other shoe to drop feeling.
sending DH out for Italian take out.

Thanks for the start Karen.
Chele LOL on national cat herders day. I don't think cats herd very well.
Karen Today's second walk is biting me. When I walk a different direction if I go past one person's house I don't know how far I go. When I got home Fitbit gave me the same amount of time as my morning walk so evidently I took two different 2 mile walks today. My ITB is definitely talking to me after that one but I know I won't walk tomorrow unless it warms up in the afternoon. I haven't had Frito Pie since I joined WW I know but I used to make them after we first got married. Those guns are so expensive but they feel so good. They used one on my trigger points the last 2 weeks at PT. I won't pay that much though.
Liz I finally figured out my arm pain was caused by arthritis. I googled the area of pain and it said you can have arthritis there. The pain is mostly gone except when it gets cold. We only got up to 56 today and it will be cold tomorrow. Good luck with the dentist.

Linda I don't remember all what went into it but we used chili, Fritos and cheese. Maybe Karen will tell you what all she put in hers.

Chele, I hate it when I lose a post! No cats to herd here, but I remember that phrase being used about trying to manage software engineers.
Karen, thanks for the start. Comcast and the ACC Network haven't been able to come to terms yet. Maybe one of these days... I watched A Discovery of Witches when it was on BBC America or AMC last year. I think the second season is going to be shown next year, but I'm not sure if it's on a premium service or not.
Liz, I'm definitely not ready for next week and have no idea what we're even doing! I think everyone is in denial and not discussing it, lol. I'm guessing we'll do something outside with just me, DS and DM. Are you taking any time off? The tree is decorated, but I haven't wrapped anything yet. That's exciting to have people getting vaccinated there. I hope things don't get worse after Christmas, but I guess we're seeing the results of Thanksgiving now. Hope you can get home early and stay safe with that storm coming!
Becky, that's a lot of miles in one day!
Hope everyone has a good evening.

Linda, here's the Frito Pie recipe I used. www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/frito-pie/ I substituted 12 oz Ground Boca for the ground beef and made beans from scratch instead of using canned. I eat about 1/2 to 2/3 of a serving over a bed of lettuce.

Linda, the 1700 in sodium and 41g of fat are what jumped out at me! My dad used to make a modified version of it that was less calories and sodium and was still good. Use lean ground beef (or lean turkey or meat substitute like Karen) and baked chips. Use lower fat cheese and low sodium or dry beans instead of the ranch flavored. Use low sodium tomato sauce and just add your own seasonings instead of enchilada sauce.
