Good morning all. I slept better than I thought and I'm most grateful for that. While Carl is at the hospital I shall focus on keeping myself busy. Needless to say I pray they take him on time and he comes home feeling well.
I'll BBL with update.
Prayers for y'all continue.

Hi Ann and friends,
Ann, I am so glad that Carl did well and is home resting after surgery. Glad it was a day surgery, too. You must be breathing a huge sigh of relief. Anytime they cut into our bodies is a scary time!
Glad you loved your new manicurist. I need an appointment for that darn ingrown toenail again. It hurts. I haven't been in about 6 weeks.
I didn't get to post at all yesterday. I was utterly wiped out and exhausted after 5th day of moving and helping sort and lug stuff out to the big U-Haul to donate or trash. The movers were a godsend. I honestly don't know what we would have done with all that STUFF! I have to say that it gave me an epiphany - LOL - Ann, I am ON your team now. Less is more and though I know we are keeping way too much there, I don't miss one single thing that we gave away. A neighbor took a child's princess bed, a nice couch and chair for her remodeled basement. The mover told me yesterday that he is very involved with people in recovery and he hires them to help out. Much of the stuff will go to help them get on their feet. He was a super good guy. The first price he quoted us was ridiculously cheap and way under the value of the work. We nearly tripled it by agreement at the end. He had 7 different people on the job at various times. Backbreaking work.
Now I am home surrounded by boxes of stuff we brought home - clothing we store there, non-perishable foods and spices, personal care stuff, etc., etc. Our goal over the holiday break is to get more boxes and start donating here. DH has a big Silverado truck and he can start taking trips to Salvation Army and Savers up here. I honestly feel unburdened and 100 lbs lighter. (in my mind only!)
WW had good news today. My Zoom local meeting with our beloved leader will continue on Saturdays now. She was thrilled and we were, too. There was enormous push back from members to WW last week and they are keeping many workshops online now. Thank goodness. I love my little group - it would be nearly as bad as losing you three! You three are such a source of support and inspiration. I am back on track now after eating poorly during the cleanout.
Yesterday, the gas and water were shut off and the electric and cable/wi-fi and phones will go. It's really happening. The bank is all set except for the building permit. We hope to close on the construction loan before December 31. Then we will get this "palace" ready for sale during the spring and hopefully sold not too long afterwards. I have mixed feeling about leaving my town of Shrewsbury. I love it here and all the amenities and friends/conveniences but all things change and evolve and once I get used to a small town that really will have all we need, we will be happy with our water view. We are on this side of the canal, Ann, so will avoid traffic and only an hour 15 from here. The new place will certainly make it all more attractive - except for the coyotes.
I have rambled on too long. Bkfst was a light english muffin and two boiled eggs. Lunch will be soup. Dinner is Harrow's CHicken pie again. I am not up to shopping yet - have to make room in the fridge will at the condiments that came home from the Cape. Ha ha. Spices and condiments galore in this kitchen!

Ann, I also meant to add that one of my many packages waiting for me at home included the Yves Roché Riche Cream for nighttime. My skin felt tired and dry and I slathered it on last night. I woke up with much softer skin so thank you for introducing me to a brand I probably never would have picked up. I also bought some a deep puffing cream and a day cream.
so, my heated mattress pad and heated throw that I ordered were also waiting for me at home! Lots of gifts from me to me! Ha ha. Being so cold at the Cape for two weeks had me ordering these things and I know I’ll enjoy them.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Tuesday! I just got off our Zoom classroom time. We sang a Christmas song and read a story that included a song, so it was really fun. Today for Small Group we used the (120) green Christmas trees that I drew and cut out. Fond memories .....
I slept very well indeed, and woke early so had plenty of time with the Christmas tree and my cup of coffee. DH cooked his Tuesday morning breakfast of scrambled EB with cheese and a fruit bowl and a slice of Dave's Killer toast for me.
Ann ~ So happy to hear Carl is already home and well. Congrats on finding a nail person you like.
Judy ~ You were a busy one! Good job!
I am going to rush off right now because I need to bundle up and get my walking done as I want to get back in time for the noon new. DH has my car because he's getting some more work done on his truck and when the guy calls, we have to go pick it up.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Back again....Carl came home, had a coffee and a bagel with cream cheese and we sat and chatted. He said they were very quick and thorough at the hospital. He was kept waiting less than 5 minutes which to me is AMAZING!!!!! Right now he and miss LuLa are taking a nap. He's not in any discomfort. Once he wakes up he will decide whether or not he's up for taking LuLa for a walk. It's cool out there, but lots of sunshine and no wind, so I'm up for the task if he is. Judy yes so happy you are on the LESS is MORE track. It surely is a freeing experience not having all that stuff. I could go through a lot more....but I don't as Carl is here putting it back LOL..... Judy it was most definitely 'culture shock' moving from Worcester to Athol as you can imagine. I am used to it now and have NO INTENTIONS of every going to a city again. I like the smallness of the town and the fact that we have a lot of 'stuff' right around us. Not so when we first moved in. They cleaned up our Hannaford's supermarket, put in Market Basket Plaza and we are all set I hope you aren't bothered too much by the coyotes. We see them here but not that often (thank goodness) When we sat in the screen room we would hear them only. Between them and the fisher cats it was noisy at times. So happy you like your Yves Rocher purchase. My only complaint is that after being a customer for all these years, I am still unable to order online. For some strange reason they don't recognize my name or customer number!!!!! I've called several times and to no avail. Now I just order by snail mail and wait....patiently....for the product to reach me. Only reason I can think of it that I've been a customer before computers LOL...so there's that! Sue so happy that you began your day with coffee by the Christmas tree. I do that each morning and late at night before bed. It's just so relaxing to me. Brings me back to being a kid on East Central Street where I grew up Nice that you also got to enjoy a good zoom session. Enjoy your walk. I'm going to heat up my soup for lunch. Getting a bit hungry. While Carl was getting surgery, I put the lo beef stew in the crockpot so we will have that with a Rhodes roll for supper. Simple filling quick and easy. I am SO all over those things LOL. Again thanks for the prayers....you gals rock!

I am back from my walk. It is in the low 20's out there with a RF in the teens, but at least the sun is shining. I got 'er done and I feel good about that!
Ann ~ You are an inspiration with "less is more" and I have emptied out a number of cupboards and plastic bins since I have known you (without refilling them). I do it with an eye toward someday we are going to have to move from here <LOL>
Judy ~ Glad you got your cream and like it. That makes such a difference! We love our heated mattress pad! Last evening DH was chilly and I kidded him that I may have to buy him a heated throw only his face lit up (not a joke to him). Actually, I think I have one downstairs that he bought me years ago.
I am thawing out the rest of the turkey bone broth and the last container of dark meat turkey and will add some onions and some carrots and some egg noodles and make another pot of soup. We still will have one container of turkey white meat for sandwiches as well as the two drumsticks (from T'giving). We really did use up every little bit of it. Last night we had the left over turkey pot pie and DH made a big salad to go with it. I also plan to make a pot of chili this week so I have some lunches in the fridge.
Time for my news. Be back later .....

Sue I am also planning on making chili in the very near future. I thought I had some already made, but apparently we must have used it. I looked high and low in the freezer and it's just not there! Oh well...not a big deal. So happy that I am inspiring y'all to clean house I did end up taking a walk. It was a heck of a lot colder than I anticipated. I so wanted to turn around and go back in, but Carl and LuLa were going strong and I just didn't want Carl walking LuLa solo. I muddled along and must say I did feel better once I got home and thawed out! We've just been hanging out today...I made a few phone calls of the fun variety and there is one thing that I will do now and that's go through the pile of papers on my computer desk. It's that 'time of year' where I want to get caught up! Waving...and will try to pop in later. I can smell the beef stew and it's making me hungry LOL...doesn't take much

Sue that bone broth and soup sounds delightful. Enjoy. I did go with Carl and LuLa for another walk. This time I wore 2 scarves as once my neck gets cold my entire body does as well. I was never so happy to come home to plate up the nice hot beef stew. Man did that ever hit the spot and then some Right now there is an ambulance across the street at Brian and Jean's home. Brian is the one with Parkinson's disease that fell a week or so ago and was in the NH going through therapy. I would assume that the ambulance is for him. Please keep Brian in your prayers. My heart goes out to them. Please keep them in your prayers. I am now going to sit and relax. All is done, even the pile of paperwork that was on my computer desk is all gone through. I kept putting it off but actually it wasn't as bad as I anticipated. Gotta love when that happens. It's going to be an early night for us. I'm exhausted! Sweet dreams

Good evening!
So nice to catch up with everyone's doings today! Debbie and I walked at 8:00 and it was another cloudy, chilly day, but not as windy, so not too bad. We kept a good pace and that warmed us quickly. Afterwards, I had yogurt, blueberries and muesli for breakfast and then headed to church for "choir practice". We are only allowed 4 choir members+ the choir director at one time, so it's technically a quartet, not a choir. Since our organist died March 21, we will sing a few Christmas carols to recorded music for the 4 scheduled Christmas Masses. The choir director contacted me later to ask if I could do both the 4:00 pm Christmas Eve and 7:30 am Christmas Day as we are short-handed and I agreed. While at church, I lit a candle for Carl and said a prayer for all our guys and their various ailments and for us, who love, support and care for them.
I enjoyed some Progresso Light soup, half a ham sandwich and some grapes for lunch. DH slow-cooked a pork loin on the bbq for dinner and we had potato salad and green beans as sides. It was all good.
I realized today that I talked more than I have for quite a while. First, Debbie and I on our walk, then choir members. DD2 called at lunchtime to ask advice about a mail order company that has taken her payment and not sent her order, then wiped all evidence of their company off fb and dropped their phone line. She was able to find another number and left a message that if they don't call her, her next call will be to the police, BBB and AG's office. She just wanted to confirm that she wasn't going overboard and we supported her efforts, because even if she doesn't get her money back, she can perhaps keep them from scamming someone else. Next, DD1 called to ask if we could find her letter jacket in a box in the closet in her old room and bring it to her house. DGD lettered in track this year and will be ordering her jacket and they wanted to check the size. I also called 2 medical companies about charges on the Medicare statement for DH. Both will take a while to resolve. Then, DD3 called and we talked and face-timed with her and the DGDs. Then DD3's GMIL (her DH's DGM) called to thank us for pecans we sent her and to chat. Then Dee called and we talked for quite a while. I told DH I was all talked out, lol.
Sunday was the birthday of my cousin who was murdered last summer and her sister had asked us to post any pics we had on fb for her DDs. I didn't get it done for Sunday. She was camera-shy and I knew it would take some digging, but I found some today among my mom's photo albums, including some when Crystal was about 4 years old. The pics brought back such happy memories and judging by the comments, everyone is enjoying them. It was sad that I had to leave out some nice family pictures because the stepson who killed her was in them and I didn't think it appropriate. This is the first Christmas without her and her DDs are struggling, especially the younger one who just had foot surgery. Normally, her mom would have stepped in, took care of the kids, meals, laundry, covered for her at work, etc. She was born with club feet and has had many surgeries over the years.
DH and I made a quick trip to town to drop off DD1's jacket and pick up his prescription at Walmart. I also picked up a turkey for Christmas before all the smaller ones are gone. I will love having turkey sandwiches and gumbo again. Today I also made a small batch of salsa verde chicken soup to use up some leftover black beans and corn. It will make delicious lunches on these cold, gloomy days.
Ann - I'm glad Carl's procedure went well and I hope your neighbor is okay.
Sue - Your work with Headstart sounds like such fun!
Judy - It was good to hear from you. I know you are glad to have the house cleared out. How nice that you were able to assist people in recovery while doing it!
I'm going to read a bit before bed. Debbie is working tomorrow, so I plan to sleep in, which probably means I'll wake up early. Sweet dreams to all!
