Good morning friends. Can't believe a week from today is Christmas. The snow is making it nice and festive looking. At first our snowfall was light and fluffy until it turned to the wet heavy variety. Just very grateful that we didn't lose power. Carl took care of his 'driveway people' by snow blowing. They so appreciate him. Some pay him, others give him baked goods...it doesn't really matter to him as he enjoys doing it!
I did sleep well for which I'm grateful.
Pam I do remember you mentioning the off leash dog before. Happy that you made the call and that the DD is going to look into it. Praying that the situation is fixed before he loses the dog.
Good that you have all your gardening taken care of and also got your walk in.
Funny, while Carl was outside doing Harriet and Al's driveway, Al came out and took a video of Carl and also several photos. He is originally from Sacramento and has never seen so much snow LOL. He is going to send the video and photos to his son

Hi Ann and friends, Thanks for opening the cafe today, Ann. Yes, we sure did get a lot of snow and I heard that your area got the jackpot! We probably have 12 inches and luckily ours did stay light and fluffy. DH worked all day and went out to do his driveway clearing after dark. I’ve heard that the roads today might have some black ice so I hope he’s really careful.
We had a fun FaceTime with the grandkids in California last night. I brought the flashlight with me and went outside to show them all the snow. They do see snow when they go up to Lake Tahoe, but of course like your friend from Sacramento, Ann, they don’t see anything but good weather in their area! The snow sure is pretty.I was in the middle of my ukulele sing-along when they called, so I was able to sing some holiday songs on my ukulele to my granddaughter and then DD asked if I would sing to the other kids. If I want to practice with an audience, kids are the way to go! Ha ha - And these kids are very young!I don’t think I’ll be going on stage anytime soon.
Ann, I meant to credit you for the Barbara Freethy book recommendation. I now remember that my mother used to read a lot of her books along with authors like Maeve Binchy, Belva Plain, Barbara Delinsky and the like. My mother gobbled up books, and I could never keep her in enough reading material. I used to go to the library every week and bring her about seven books. She returned them all read the next week! She had such a remarkable mind and she lived till 91.
I’m waiting to hear from one of my good friends today to see if her daughter tested positive for Covid. We worry because my friend and her husband live in an In law apartment connected to their daughter’s home along with their two grandchildren. I might have mentioned that her daughter is a high school teacher, and several of her colleagues have Covid. She came home with a sore throat and cold symptoms the other day. We sure hope it is just a cold.
I might take a good break today since I’ve been going gangbusters on this clearing out. I just hope I won’t lose my momentum by stopping. Doing that big project at the Cape gave me a fresh set of eyes to see all the stuff we don’t really need. It really becomes a burden. Since I know it will have to be done, I think I’m OK taking occasional breaks and that my strong desire to clear out will persevere. It is definitely not a natural state for me!
Sue, hope you are doing well and if you are the one who provided the salsa Verde soup recipe, I thank you! Also, we are really enjoying the heated throw that we bought. DH was so cold when he came in from shoveling and snowblowing last night. He snuggled up in a lazy boy with that heated throw set to high.
Have a great day everyone. I’ll be back later.

Judy you are very welcome. I love sharing good authors...or ones that I enjoy Praying for good results for your friend's daughter. I have a horrible sinus headache. It sometimes happens after a snow storm. I am going to shut down and lay down. Will start fresh in the a.m. Wishing all a peaceful day and know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Feel better, Ann.
I am starting a Liane Moriarty book. I like hers - this one is Nine Perfect Strangers.
Still doing work for the college, but I look at it as owing them a bit. They have been so good to us. Just a bit here and there to keep up. I don't mind at all.
Off to CVS to get a Vitamin D script for DH.
Appraisers were at the house today. We are moving along! Yay!
I found lentil chicken soup in the freezer that I will defrost for lunch with a Dave's ham sandwich.
TTFN..

Hello friends!
Brrrr to all your snow! We have a sunny day and have reached our high of 57. Debbie and I are scheduled to walk at 3:00 when she gets back from NOLA.
DH and I made a grocery pickup run today, then hopped over to Super1 to get the couple items Walmart didn't supply, like an eggplant for tonight's eggplant parmigiana and my favorite yogurt. I was at first shocked and then angry to see a couple shopping without masks. I gave them a dirty look and moved on, putting as much space between us as possible. My body was Lost in Space with my mind shouting, "Danger, danger, Will Robinson!!!"
I shed last weeks' .4 gain at WI today, which is great considering my snacking this week. Breakfast was yogurt, pineapple and muesli. Lunch was a PB&J made with PB2 and a banana. We will have the eggplant parmigiana with some kind of veggies for dinner.
I had a nice long chat with my DSIS who was driving to the camp. Wish I was going too! Hopefully, we will go down soon for an overnight or two. She is hoping to get the vaccine soon through her employer. I didn't mention that DH and I might be getting it soon, as DD1 asked us to keep that news under wraps until it's a done deal. At least I was able to share with you!
Judy - I'll be interested to hear how you like Nine Perfect Strangers. I am in the home stretch of The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek and enjoying it very much.
Ann - I can only imagine what it's like to lose power when it's cold. We're all electric and would have no heat. Carl is so nice to do all those driveways!
Sue - If it's any consolation re: your friend in Missouri, my elderly cousins in UT are recovering nicely from Covid. My dear cousin is still having fatigue and headaches, but both she and DH are fever-free and cough-less.

Sinus pressure isn't as bad. Hopefully I'll be back to Ann tomorrow. I did absolutely nothing today.
Sweet dreams.
