WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C75D12, 7000 fitbit steps.
Still working my way thru IE, struggling with hunger concept - eating my 4 mini meals regardless of hunger, remaining aware of healthy choices, eating based on portion size without stopping midstream due to satiety, and still wanting (and having) "something sweet" on occasion, again regardless of supposed hunger signals. Hopefully she'll address some of these issues as I proceed.

Good morning!
I've stopped tracking calories and protein for a few days. Today I will try to focus on IE and healthful foods.
Beth and Edesia, I'm sorry to hear about your moms.
For those of you not on FB, our friend Coleen had gastric bypass surgery earlier in the week. She's home and recovering well.

hi all!
we took mom home from the hospital last night. There's a lot more to manage now but she's happy to be home...and i'm relieved she's there.
Day off today. I'm catching up around the house since it's been a whirlwind with driving the hour back and forth to the hospital, fitting in work, etc. I stayed in bed until 8 am this morning!!!! Decadence! Needed the sleep that's for sure!
After breakfast will hit the grocery store. Need to wrap DH's presents. I've got pickleball this afternoon and the dog is coming sometime today. Looking forward to a mellow weekend with DH and the dog...cooking together, long walks, listening to holiday music and watching Love Actually and our other holiday specials we have on dvd.
happy day to all!

Afternoon, BFF's! Finished up work at about 2. Now, it's officially the holiday break! This morning DH and I went to pick up some sufganiyot for Hanukkah and to bring as gifts. I don't think I would ever have been able to coexist with this many doughnuts in the house in the past. The bags around them are tied so I don't have to look at them, though. TTYL
Nancy - If I remember correctly, the IE book recognizes that there are many times when you have to eat at a certain time, whether you're hungry or not. Breakfast is always like that for me. It's early and I'm not particularly hungry, but I want to eat before I leave the house. For lunch, I do wait until I'm hungry. It might be an interesting experiment to take a day when you are home and have more flexibility, to wait until you feel hungry before eating, instead of eating at a predetermined time to test it out.
Jan - Thanks for the update on Coleen.
Beth - Sorry about the ILD, but happy to hear your mom is home.
Lori - Some cookies does not sound bad at all.
