Welcome to our 2021 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.
The main focus of this board is to be ALCOHOL FREE. The focus of our new challenge is to commit ourselves to success, one day at a time, one hour at a time....success breeds success! Follow a healthy food plan, exercise and stay AF.
As with all of our challenges, everyone is welcomed. For some making the commitment for the entire challenge is the way to go, but day by day is also a way to go. No one is cut from the challenge, and if you don't want to be part of the challenge, you are still welcome to post.

DRYUARY! Challenge! Letās begin!
January 1 through February 12 (Lunar New Year)
Will this be your year? YES!! Twenty years since Y2K and it seems like the bug might have finally landed. But with that said, some things just have not changed. We went into the pandemic thinking this will end, letās see what we can get done. Oops 2020 is over and we need to embrace a new and better 2021. Embrace with eyes wide open, with accountability, with questions not just going along, being the best you can be.
Now remember you need to be in the best shape you can be along with being a semi hoarder cuz if the zombie apocalypse comes, you need to be prepared, just a thought!
So with thatā¦letās start tweaking and niggling to make this year work for us. We can do this!
For many, New Year day means kicking off the year with a healthy beginning! We commit to healthy eating, no drinking and getting into shape. We want to cleanse our ourselves, our space, our environment. We need to eliminate the toxins so we can rejuvenate from within. We've filled ourselves with ācelebratoryā food and alcohol to enjoy the holidays or to medicate ourselves from the stress of the holidays. Come January 1 it is a fresh beginning.
So we come to the board to hold ourselves accountable. We come to the board to share our ups and downs, to share ideas of what works and what doesnāt. We come to the board to bond. We come to the board to celebrate success without food or alcohol.
Are you ready for this new challenge? If wavering, no matter, join in and take what works for you. Share, enjoy the bonding!
Options for being accountable!

HABIT ACCOUNTABILITY
We can be and will be accountable and supportive to each other. As always no judgement, just encouragement, and if needed, tough love though we are usually toughest on ourselves. Set your accountability goals and let's get to work. Letās be healthier versions of ourselves come February 12.

Quiet time, work, plan meals, fit in exercise, create WI ACCOUNTABILITY January 1 start weight: 203 January 8: 201.5 January 15: 199.4 January 22: 199.7 January 29: 198.4 February 5: 197.7 February 12: 196.6 "A year from now you may wish you started today!" Good morning all. Have to say I'm happy with my progress this challenge. Down 6.4, my best focus for a long time. Now keep it up and keep the scale moving down. It has really helped to sort of plan out menus for the whole week even if we change it up a bit day to day. I shop for what we need, use freezer food and don't randomly snack so much. Also helps a lot that I haven't been drinking my calories too!! . Being consistent with exercise helps, I have exercised and gotten my AP bar every day this year so far except maybe one. Over 170 miles on my virtual challenge. Now to keep up the water, movement and planning. Lightly snowing this morning, I will head to work and hope to not slip around too much. Afterwards I will go get our groceries so I can stay in all day tomorrow if I want. If I can get off before 3 I will maybe swing by the thrift store to look over their book selection. Not sure if the contractor will come today, they got some of the walls up yesterday and hope to do more today. Dh will be tuned in to the TV so not missing much around here and the $$ will be nice. Hope you all have a great Saturday and look forward to the new challenge!! Jan Murphy. I did the AE again for Dry January. Even tho I've watched and heard the info before it's a great reminder for my why. I just keep repeating the 30 day free one when I feel the need. Don't really read the comments or follow the FB page, just listen to Annie and write the journal prompts. Have a good Saturday, are you having the cold? Cathy. yay for finding uses for all the produce and having a great birthday. Love to hear from unexpected family and friends. Your quotes made me LOL, I wonder what "young" people really think these days, everything is just out there, no thought, every move and dumb thing reported on instagram or FB. Yikes..People have lost their filters, manners and moral compass. Telling lies and doing crazy things seem the norm. Glad I'm "OLD" Cindy. YUM. Love an nothing but bundt, glad they aren't in Wisconsin, at least around here. We have plenty of other distractions, family bakeries of all ethnicities. It's Paczi season here right now, I'm not even going to try one! Glad DS is able to share all the goodies with you, whether they're helpful or not, still nice he thinks of you. Your bird watching sounds wonderful. I follow Wild birds of wisconsin on FB and people post the most amazing pictures. SOmeone had like 20 cardinals in their yard, I can't get one . Hope Ainsley let you walk and you chased the haints out of the house. Carole. Will you drive to WV by yourself or fly over. Glad DB is staying with dad and you can get some things done at home. GG. Hope no reactions to the vaccine but it may still be nice to take care of the kids . Scale was nice, we'll just keep working at it. Amy I see you're still posting but love the TOTD. Yep, we dust off and start again. Hope you got in your walks and maybe DS was over for some fun and games last night. I will check in again when I get home from work. Have a good day. Hugs to you. Time to run!!

DRYUARY! Challenge! Letās begin! January 1 through February 12 (Lunar New Year)
January 1 start weight: 177.4 January 8: 176.1 January 15: 175.4 January 22: 175.9 January 29: 175.2 February 5: 175.4 Final Weigh In February 12: 174.9
I had the typical hangover symptoms most of the day, started feeling more normal after dinner. DH & I went to walk at the clubhouse, it drizzled a bit, but not too bad. If DH noticed anything, he didn't mention it, I didn't bring it up. Thanks to all of you for your love and support. Hopefully I don't try it again...
I made eggplant parm in the crockpot, which was pretty good and DH also grilled chicken for dinner. We bought paczkis at Publix, which is a dense jelly donut, Polish in origin.
Murphy- WTG getting your calls and HOA stuff done early. Hopefully Linda did not take too much of your time.
Jan- WTG AF45, blue dot, steps, AP. I don't think I've ever had that many weeklies left! Hope the roads were okay. We haven't talked about what we're doing for Valentine's. You did really well on the current challenge! I don't think I had ever heard of paczki, or that there was a season for them.
Carole- Glad your DB is with your dad this weekend. Are you going to WV next weekend? I'm so sorry about what happened to the girl from the alcohol experiment.
GG- WTG getting your bloodwork & mammo done. Yay for lunch with DS and getting new clothes.
Cindy- Sorry about the cold and icy conditions & Ainsley being riled up. Yay for the buntlets and goody bags, so nice the boss shows his appreciation.
Cathy- Glad you had a nice birthday. LOL over the condom slogans.

What will you be accountable for today? Move More Accountability - Hope to do a little more walking today Sleep Accountability - sleeping pretty good. I am finding that I LOVE being able to lay in bed for a while after I wake up! Nutrition Accountability - doing better at listening to my body telling me when I am full! Journal Accountability - I'm doing my journaling while on vaca! Happiness Accountability - very happy!! Habit Accountability - drinking more water Check in Daily Accountability - I'm here!! Time Management Accountability - I got a lot accomplished today. ACCOUNTABILITY, NOT ANXIETY January 1 - February 12 January 1 start weight: 190 January 8: 191 January 15: 188 January 22: 187 January 29: 189 February 5: 189 February 12: 188 Good morning all! I slept well last night and was able to sleep till almost 7:00 this morning! I've cleaned up and done my quiet time. I also boxed up all my snowmen so all the holiday decorations are cleared out. I always leave my snowmen out until at least the end of January. I think I left them out this year hoping they would bring a good heavy snow! LOL. I got purses packed for Motel Ministry tomorrow. I am meeting my 2 friends from church for lunch today and then have a zoom call with my college pals this afternoon. Jan - hope there is no slipping and sliding on the way to work! Cathy - LOL at all of the quotes! I'm with Jan on this one! You have to wonder what people are thinking? Cindy - the cake sounds yummy! I hope you are not freezing this morning. Do you ever have a problem with the electricity going out and do you have an alternate heat source? I have a gas fireplace but it hasn't worked since shortly after I moved in. I really need to think about at least getting a kerosene heater or something. Although I've also heard that if you close off into one room and light several candles it really helps. I do have a pretty good supply of those! Carole - so glad that DB is stepping up to help with your dad! GG - I don't remember ever doing the AE before. If I did, I'm sure it was only on the surface! Amy - I'm so glad you are feeling like yourself again. I loved what Cathy said about leaving that experience in the past! Is there any reason you didn't want to talk with DH about it? One of my worst characteristics is that being single and living alone, I can feel like I'm "hiding" my problem. I know it's much better if I will talk about it! I did take Linda to the doctor yesterday but thankfully it wasn't a long appointment. Especially since I had to wait in the car. She actually thanked me and then even texted me later to thank me again for taking her. She's not so much "needy" as she is "wanty"! I did not go in her house when I got there because I didn't want to deal with her asking me to do anything in there for her. I just called and told her I was outside. I am making a commitment to doing the AE for 30 days. I have had slips and I truly want my life to be different. I'm looking forward to our next challenge and making changes! Hope you all have a wonderful day! Murphy

Hi friends! I went to kickboxing this morning. Doing some chores and reading. I bought a journal, I think I need to start writing about things Iām grateful for. Iāve been in a slump and not sure why. Although the more I talk to people, the more it seems a lot of people are out of sorts. Lex and I will go to WV if ty plays and fans are allowed. I trust Anthony to take care of Angel, sheās still not eating. We boughtv5 McDonalds hamburgers which sheāll eat, I think weāll be going back for more.
Amy, Iām glad you enjoyed family time and felt better after dinner. That sneaky A demon. Hugs!
Cathy, your slogans had me giggling!
Jan, Iām glad Iām old too! My vitamin D is low, we need some sunshine!
Cindy, I cringed when you said you didnāt slip on the ice. I love those Bundt cakes. My new boss got them for everyone at Christmas.
Murphy, glad Linda was ok for this outing!
Gg, will you be getting the shot?
I had my blood drawn and worked up. My liver enzymes were a little high. My dr put to stop drinking alcohol. It made me kind of mad because it could be due to my anti inflammatory medication Iāve been taking for years and years. Besides my binges I really donāt drink. 25 days AF. I could be wrong tooš¤·āāļø Which is probably the right thought but I was still miffed! Have a great day!

Hi girls. Both DS & DDIL ended up with fevers, chills, aches, and fatigue. But the grands stayed home. They were allowed screen time and are old enough to pretty much take care of themselves. Both adults were feeling better about 24 hours after receiving it. I would have certainly taken them, but was glad they were able to stay home. Iām just so tired! DSIL is on lockdown. He sat beside someone who came down with Covid the next day. In fact, his school is remote for the week because so many staff were at the same meeting.
I made some chocolate muffins today for 2 points each. Yummy! Plus I made my strawberry pie that is only 1 pt per quarter of the pie for tomorrow. Thatās about all I did all day though.
Amy: DH probably has no idea you were drinking, since you did it at night. I hope the misery of the morning after helps keep you AF. It was just a blip in the big picture of things!
Jan: Great results for the challenge!
Cathy: I just shook my head! I am definitely old school!
Cindy: I cringed about you not falling on the ice too! Love that you can watch the birds though!
Murphy: Sounds like you have a full weekend!
Liz: When I think about pastries or decadent things like that, I just remember my clogged arteries! Lol
