Good evening friends,
We face-timed with our MI bunch first thing this morning and Madison giggled when I asked her what the heck her weather was doing in my yard. I put on my wool socks and snow boots and ventured out around 10:30 to take pics of the house and yard. We wound up with a little white stuff, mostly sleet. Since the high today was only 25, not much melted, even when the sun came out this afternoon. Tonight's low is supposed to be 12, so I'm hoping DH's wrapping of the outdoor faucets works. The Gov. said this evening that the electric companies may have to start rolling blackouts and asked that people try to conserve energy, so our thermostat is now at 65. We like it cool to sleep anyway.
Other than my one walk around the yard, I have been indoors and am starting to get cabin fever after only a day and I have another to get through before it warms enough to start melting the ice. I dusted, vacuumed and mopped the living room and hall, but decided to save the kitchen floors for tomorrow so I will have something to do. I did a few small chores and washed the sheets from the bed Abby and I use for her sleepovers. I texted with DD's and actually chatted with DD2 to see if she would like to attend The Odd Couple at little theater Feb. 25. She said yes, so I purchased the tickets online. They are only selling 40 seats in a theater that seats about 250. I was able to get a block of 3 seats and as DD said we can wear double masks. We plan to pick up take out and eat at her apartment instead of eating out before the performance. I am very much aware that she has not received her vaccination yet. I just worry about her spending so much time alone in that apartment. She and her BFF were supposed to get together tomorrow for Mardi Gras day and binge watch some series they both love and have take out, but the roads are closed, probably until Wed. Her last planned vacation to FL to meet with another friend got cancelled due to the pandemic. She just can't win!
We watched Family Feud tonight to see my niece's husband and his family compete. They won their match but didn't do well on the big prize deal at the end. It was still fun to see. One of his sisters gave a really racy answer and everyone has been teasing him on fb about the shocked look he gave her, lol. After dinner, we watched the last two episodes of True Detective. I thought McConaughey and Harrelson did a great job and would have loved to have seen them together in a continuing season of it.
DH has turned in and I am going to read a bit before bed. Sweet dreams all!
