My topic list had one word on it for today: lists. I thought of it because I'm writing lists all the time, usually I have multiple to-do lists going. I have trouble getting organized. So, the question for today is: do you use lists to keep yourself organized?

As I said I make a lot of lists, grocery lists, to do lists, and lists to stay organized while I work on a project. I use to be better organized but a with psych med change I lost some of my obsessive-compulsive urge. I use to have the week laid-out on a large white board and each day I put that day's thing to do list on a small white board. Now I've found to get me started I can decide to do the most important thing for the day (this can be the thing that is bugging me the most), or list three things to do (so as not to overwhelm myself). I love finding old to-do lists and finding I've done everything on them.

I definatly use lists to keep myself focused on what needs to be done. I make lists for groceries, daily lists, weekly lists, cleaning lists, garden lists during the summer, work lists for my son and daughter when they come home. Lately I haven't made lists as much as I used to as I get side effects from medicine and when I don't feel well I just skip it and do the best I can. I do like the orginaization I achieve with lists.

I make lists when we run errands...or when I order groceries, produce or medication. When children visit we make a to-do list. I have the books to be read written into my agenda/diary. I am not a daily list maker, though, and don't create menus for the week. Do journal/list what I eat each day.

I’ve always made lists. They used to make me feel confident that I wouldn’t forget important things. Since life changed with the pandemic, lists get lost, I forget to look at them, or I have too many lists. The only list that gets maintained these days is the grocery list. 😂

I still prefer a paper list when I go grocery shopping. Most people seem to be using their phones, but there a few dinosaurs like myself still consulting their pieces of paper. The only problem is not having it fly away when it's not pinned down in the cart.
I don't really use lists for anything else. Oh yeah, when we vacation, I always have a huge list of things to take, things to do around the house beforehand. It's been so long since a vacation, I forgot.

Power restored last night! Thanks for kind thoughts!
I keep a grocery list from an app called Paprika which lets me pull ingredients from recipes. Since I’m retired, the only other list I’m interested in starting is a list of places I’d like to visit when it is safe to travel again.

lizlor, Good to hear your power was restored. lani, When I grocery shopped and used reusable bags, I would put the bags in the child seat and tuck my list in the fold of one of the bags. When I shop without the reusable bags I tuck my list into the outside pocket of my purse which is in the child seat. To keep track of what I bought I make a tear in the paper by the item when I put it in the cart.

I hope we have the same list for at least one of those places!
Sorry I've been MIA for so long, this kitchen reno really knocked me for a loop. It was extremely unsettling to be so out of control in terms of what I cook for myself on a daily basis. Yes I gained a few pounds and that sucks but I started WI's again two weeks back, and will continue onward and hopefully downward in terms of tracking and staying OP.
And no, lani , I'm not going to do one of my marathon catch ups!
Oh, and I do lists for shopping mainly. Otherwise I forget what I went in for.

And no, lani , I'm not going to do one of my marathon catch ups! Aw, c'mon! Great to see you back! Look, I can either do one of my famous surfgirl mass catch ups OR I can start tracking and checking in here...I'm choosing the latter because a catch up at this point will take me a week! But I love that you notice when I do that...xo
