This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here!

Good morning friends.
Well we're warming up into the 30s today, so that's good - although currently it's only 24 with a wind chill of 14. The only downside to the warm up is that rain is coming along behind it - starting this afternoon and continuing through tomorrow - just lots of cold rain - as temps will continue to hang in the mid-30s. Yuck.
I messaged a little more with Jana last night. She heard from R and they actually got their power back in the VA house. YAY! Her dad was supposed to drive on to her sisters house today, IDK how long he plans to stay there. She was planning to stay at her Uncle's house for another day before heading back home. She was hoping to enjoy a day with a little alone time for a change. On the off chance that you're reading...Hugs Girlfriend!!
So not much happening around here. Just staying in, staying warm and avoiding the next wave of wet stuff that will be falling from the sky.

Hello Everyone...well, my outdoor ex class was NOT cancelled, so off I went in 27 degrees....3 layers on the bottom and 5 on the top - ha! I figured I had better go while I could since I am sure it will be cancelled for the next couple of days just as it has been for the previous days. I hope power has been restored to everyone who lost it...although my DGD said her virtual teacher is surviving on a generator....makes me think we need one.
Lora - oh that wind chill makes it terrible...bad enough without it! Thanks for checking on Jana.
Waving to everyone! Stay safe and warm.

Susie - you're not kidding about the wind. Temperature wise we're currently up to 38, but I just walked out to get the mail and that wind just cuts right through your clothes. It's brutal. Great job on layering up and getting to your exercise class. I know how much better that must make you feel - both physically and emotionally. We're supposed to have nice weather for the weekend. Lows in the 20s but highs in the mid 40s, so I'm really, really hoping we'll be hiking.

Hi all, we are waiting for snow to come here tomorrow. I am sure we will work from home. Yesterday we hit 50 degrees, then today it was down to 23 in the morning, but must have gotten above 32 because things had melted.
Lora, sorry you ended up with the snow. I guess you didn't expect to move from Atlanta and have this cold weather you keep getting.
Jill, sorry you are not feeling well. Sometimes these stomach/intestinal things are just trial and error.
Susie, you are a hearty one, exercising in that weather, I don't care how many layers you have.
Janet, glad the 3 showed up for their conferences. I am glad we have Amazon Prime, because that is normally where I order that kind of thing from. We use page protectors in some of our binders for original documents.
Jana, good for you taking that extra day of Me time. I am glad your pops is going to DS for a while, you do need a break.
RobinMD, yes, every little bit is nice to get, so glad you are getting a small refund.
I was supposed to have an ultrasound tomorrow because of the stomach issues I have been having, could be gall bladder, but they called to postpone, they are planning to close due to the weather. I was supposed to go Friday morning to have an anti-body study done for the vaccine trial, but they postponed that until later in the day. After that one, they will work on telling me whether I got the real one or the placebo. They have to go through computer records of the coded numbers to figure it out, so it will still take a few days, but seeing as I would be able to get the vaccine, they will tell me.

Happy Hump Day, We are getting a fairly good snow starting tonight and going until Friday morning. I'm wfh again tomorrow, and possibly Friday morning. It should be ok to go in Friday afternoon, and I have a ton of things to do that I can only do there. When I got off this afternoon, I had to run to get dog food and I stopped to get a bottle of Moscato....I sleep in a little when I wfh, and the fire is so nice that I thought I would enjoy a glass while I wait for the snow! Ha! I have been eating a lot better lately after a step on the scale woke me up, and I have been putting more effort into the prep. I have a bad habit of doing what is quick and that is not usually the healthiest. I always feel better right away. I am keeping more fresh fruits and veggies on hand, which I don't always do in the winter. I drove past the farm stand today and they had their sign out that said "Opening March 13th". That is always my reminder that winter is almost over! Lora, I'm glad you got snow and no ice. Looking at the ice damage and the crazy weather going on across the country, I guess all bets are off. The south is sure not off limits for snow and cold THIS winter! Jill, diverticulitis really doesn't have anything to do with gluten. It is caused by food that gets trapped in small open pockets in the intestine. Almost all adults develop diverticulosis in their life, which is just blister-looking spots in the intestine that could potentially open and increase the risk of diverticulitis. Once it gets stuck in there, it becomes inflamed and then infected. That is why it is recommended that people who get it frequently should avoid nuts and seeds and small things that become trapped more easily. It is random, and not related to whether you eat carbs, meat, milk products, or sugars, etc. I hope you are feeling better soon! Susie, I saw a segment on the Today show about a group of lady ballerinas and they meet outside to practice. They wear layers of clothes and one of them said that when it is REALLY cold, she always has to figure out how many layers she can wear and still be able to move! I thought of you while I was watching it Glad to know that Jana had a great back up plan for the electric being out! I'm glad it is back on, but so nice she got a little getaway... RobinS, I didn't see how much snow you'll be getting, but they are calling for 8 to 12 inches at my place, with some ice mixed in there somewhere. We had some temps in the low 40's yesterday, but the wind kicked in and it was in the upper 20's by the time I got home from work. It will be interesting to find if you developed antibodies. Sorry about the delay in getting your stomach issues diagnosed, but hopefully it won't be too long. Well, I'm going to see if I can fix a little something for dinner. I am also trying to not eat after 8p. Not always possible, but I sleep better. I will probably be back tomorrow. I hope everyone stays safe and warm! RobinMD

Hi Everyone, Tommorow will be work from home day and most likely Friday as well. Since I am doing virtual and dont think I have extended care in the afternoon I plan to stay home. I hate trying to find parking down there and I have taken the buses to avoid that but with the covid I'd rather avoid public transportation if I can especially multiple trips.
I had 3 conferences this afternoon. For some reason I mixed up the times for one. It was for tommorow instead of today and I texted his mother saying I was in the room. Usually though she has missed meeting times tho including two meetings a few weeks ago when I wanted to do an assessment with her son. I brought my binder home with the camera, printer and all but our family worker couldn't find the film I needed. My friend let me have one cartridge but I will have to decide which pictures I really want to take that I can use immediately until I can get more from my director. The cartridge doesnt give you that many pictures. I just hope I can see the pictures on the printer as last week I was having problems seeing the pictures.
Jill, did you go back to work today?
You are lucky you have a good assistant. I honestly don't know why I even bother talking to mine. It's like talking to a wall. I have plans to go out for lunch with my friend on Saturday. I guess we'll have to see what the weather will be. For me it is very close but more of a distance for her but her granddaughter works there so it would be right in the middle travel wise for her to see her. Jana, hope you are enjoying some time to yourself. Susie, that is so many clothes to wear.
Have a restful night!
