This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here!

Good Morning??? Sounds like everyone is dealing with snow, ice, rain whatever. We have so much ice it looks like snow. There was 290,000 without power in VA...90% of that has been restored...and now more ice. Sure glad those of you still working can WFH if necessary ..that is, as long as you keep power! Looks like I will not even take a walk...not with all this ice. I took a couple steps on the grass to take a pic and almost fell. Waving to everyone...stay safe and warm.

Good morning everyone! Susie - wise decision to take a pass on the walk today. There's no since it taking the chance, I agree. We had rain all night. No real ice accumulation to speak of, but there icy spots on many roads, bridges, etc. So another day of hanging out in the house for me. Our fog though is extra strength today...Lol. I can't even see the mailbox in the front or any of the trees out the back. Just white. I am looking forward to the weekend though. IF the forecast is correct, then it's supposed to be sunny and up into the 40s. If that's the case, then the hike is ON. Of course that being said, our forecast shifts wildly almost hourly so who knows what the weekend will actually look like once it gets here. Haha! Anyway, waving to everyone. Stay warm, stay safe and Happy Thursday to all!

Hello everyone, It is a winter wonderland out there. It snowed heavily then sleeted really hard. It sounded like pouring rain, but it was all sleet for a while. Nothing happening now, but there will be more precipitation of some kind later. The boss said the office is closed this afternoon, so I clocked out for lunch, and now I'm going to go out and dig out the heat pump. I already have a fire going in the fireplace.
Janet, I bet you are getting all kinds of lousy weather. I hope you are able to get everything to work for you, while you work from home!
Lora, a hike in the 40's would be pretty nice! It is supposed to be sunny but cold this weekend.
Susie, I know you hate missing your exercise, but it was a good decision! Glad you didn't fall.
I'll be back. I'm going to throw on the snow boots and go out and do some digging! Everyone be careful out there,
RobinMD

RobinMD, we are expecting anywhere from 4 to 9 inches. I went out around noon, and there were 3-4 inches that I shoveled. Then it started coming down really hard, and then switched to sleet. I can't tell right now if the snow is blowing off the roof or if it started again. It seems like everything is closing. Glad you could explain things to Jill about diverticulitis, because I was starting to question whether what I said about seeds and nuts was correct.
Lora, icy roads are never fun to be out in. I think ours will end up icy, but we are supposed to warm into the mid 30's during the days coming up.
Susie, be careful on that ice! The last thing in the world you need is to fall on it. I am going to have to go out later with the dog, and will walk very carefully.
I was supposed to have an ultrasound today, but they called yesterday afternoon saying they were closing. I have also gotten various emails about the dry cleaner closing, restaurants closing, butchers closing early. I guess with everyone staying home they just figure it's not worth it for them to keep open.

Lora - a sunny weekend sounds wonderful. The temp has gone up a little, but there was so much ice, DH thought it was snow.
RobinMD - hope you got the heat pump dug out. The temp went up a little, so I went out and cleaned the ice off of my windshield so perhaps it won't be as hard to clear tomorrow or whenever. So far the power has been find today, but the trees are ice covered so if we get more tonight who knows?
RobinS - glad you did not have to out for the ultrasound today...when is the rescheduled date?
Waving to everyone...

Hello again, I did get the heat pump dug out. The dogs had a blast out there, too, doing zoomies all over the field. I would love to get a picture of Cyrus when he is running full tilt across the field with his big grin, and those ears and lips flapping He loves it! We enjoyed my afternoon snow day and now everyone is passed out in front of the fire with full bellies... I am planning on going in late tomorrow, but I will get up at my usual time and see what is going on out there. I will go in on time if it is completely clear. My only issue is going over the mountain here by me, because it has been really slippery the past week or so. It has just stayed so cold. I don't know if the office manager will decide to open late or not, so I will just see what is going on in the morning. I didn't sleep too well last night, so I will probably head up fairly early tonight. I hope everyone is well tonight, and staying safe. I'll be back tomorrow! RobinMD

Hello all - I just wanted to check in. We lost power on Saturday from the ice and on Monday morning my Dad and I packed up and headed to NC to stay at my uncle's house. R was going to follow on Tuesday but the power came back on in the afternoon. My Dad decided to go spend a couple days with my sister and I decided to stay here in NC. The internet is kind of spotty here, especially during the day. I don't know if it is all the virtual learning or what.
I am packing up tonight and I will be heading back to VA tomorrow. I hope that in my area of VA there isn't too much ice.
The weather here on Tuesday and Wednesday was really nice with Tuesday being almost 70. Wednesday I drove down to the ocean with Zeke and we took a long walk along the beach. It was good for my soul. He was cute on the beach - he didn't know what to think of the ocean but loved playing in the sand. Since there were not too many people on the beach and he is such a good dog I could let him go run some.
I hope everyone is doing well.
I will catch up with everyone over the weekend or early next week.

Hi Everyone, Had a busy day at home but between my virtual classes and conferences and then finishing up my lesson plan it was more than enough. I was trying to get my non-partner to join the conferences with me but she didnt. I told her yesterday she should come for a few today. Yesterday and the day before she had extended care so I know that she couldnt yesterday but today she should have. Its not like I needed her to come but I am not signing her name on it and If she does I may say something to my director. I know she can't control the days she couldnt be there but today she could have..

Susie, glad you didnt fall. Jana, be careful going home tommorow.. I am working from home again tommorow. I just don't see the point of staying for 3 hours and then having to drive on narrow unplowed roads and where I usually park is going to be a problem. There isn't that much available parking as it is but it will be worse tommorow. I usually park up the street and around the corner since my driver side mirror was vandalized twice and I hate to risk parking closer and risk it again.
Have a good night!

Quick pop in... Good to see that Jana's journey sounds refreshing. Susie, glad you are not chancing the ice. I think ice is the hardest part about all this crazy weather. Lora, oh I do hope your weather works out for the weekend hike. That sounds lovely! Robin MD, I can picture your dogs running through the snow. Thank you for the diverticulitis info. RobinS, I hope your ultrasound is easy to reschedule. Glad you're safe at home. Stay safe!! Thank you also for the diverticulitis help. Janet, darn that your partner wasn't a part of the conferences. Good idea playing it safe with the car! I am feeling much better, and now I can't wait to be done with the augmentin. Waving hi to all.
