So sorry to hear about Vera. Thanks KC for letting us know.
Ruth and Marlo. the Estero girl goes to the school in Ft. Myers for Performing Arts and is a sophomore and just turned 16 this month. She did the show in Nov. and of course was 15 at the time. Marlo I watched on Sunday night I think from 8-10.

So sorry to hear about dear Vera, may she Rest In Peace. Met her & hubby in Ma. What a wealth of knowledge Bera had and always shared cooking tips, etc. Today I met the gentleman with a truck and gave him 4?items for the auction. How wonderful to learn that he and his wife have fostered over 200 children over the years. For a very reasonable rate they’re off my hands and I can watch the auction on line!
Such a shame that I can’t even take a vacation when this is over. Guess some R n R will have to do.
Have a good evening all!
Marlo

I am so sad to hear of Vera’s passing. She was a special contributor here. Many of my saved recipes have Vera in the title.
Our home is officially sold. The buyer signed off on the inspection report. So now we can pack. Someone please tell Don it doesn’t have to be done today! LOL
Pat I hope Jerry gets a good report from his heart monitor. I’m surprised you want to garden as busy as you are. Keep it small. Maybe a raised planter box on legs. Walmart has nice ones. You’d be surprised how much produce you’ll get.
We plan to garden again in Illinois. Don is totally into square foot gardening with raised beds. Fine by me. But the first year we’ll have to buy plants to get going instead of seeds.
Karen C how odd about the A1c. You might try an elimination diet. Do you use a bs monitor? When I used to use one I found bread to be the culprit more than even dessert. It’s different I suppose for everyone.
The Weber grill is gone. $75 more dollars.
Geri I saw this and thought of you. For frozen walkways: 1/2 tsp Dawn liquid 1 Tbsp rubbing alcohol 1/2 gallon hot/warm water. Pour over the walkway. They won’t refreeze.
Bean soup and corn bread for dinner.

Isn't it amazing what all Dawn can do. Hope that works for Geri and now Sharon will know what to do next winter when IL has snow and ice and Ruth and Pat and I will be in sunny Florida. (running the A/C)
The handyman I hired has just shown up...almost dark...why so late...he is full of excuses

I got very upset after reading about Vera. Such sad news. I had to go out for some fresh air and walking meditation. I wonder how Bill is doing. They were a wonderful couple.
Sharon, you made me laugh about dreams and arguments. Mort and I actually used to argue discussing dreams. I would ask what he would do if what I dreamt was real and if he gave me an answer I did not like I would get angry at him. Then we would both laugh about it.
Approaching Spring does wonders for one's mood, Geri. How lovely to see those green leaves peeking through. For me, it is the lengthening days that excite me. I started out late for my walk and it was after 5:30 when I got back and still enough daylight that I could have driven my car. Amazing that it was pitch black at 4:30 not too long ago. Our snow is just about melted except for those spots that don't get much sun. So good to get out. It was mild too. Mild for here, that is.
Karen, that is crazy about the price of that cheese substitute. It is when it is shipped and something similar happened to me with disposable kitty litter trays. You are doing great with your walking.
Hoping Kelcy is ok, Jane.
Pat, I cannot keep up with you and your routine. Phew! And yay for sun. I envy you in FL for that. I get more sun in CT than I did where we lived in MA, but not as much as I would like.
You are doing great with getting things out of your old place and into your new, Marlo.

My condolences to Vera’s husband and family. She was on this board when I joined the first time. I remember her avatar with all those Pots and Pans. So happy to hear how she got her title of Pot’s and her avatar. I also enjoyed her wit and recipes.
A beautiful day here finally with lots of melting. I had visions of our driveway thawing and refreezing slicker than you know what. I went after putting up the bird feeders and sprinkled snow melt on the curve part of drive, not the whole drive. By afternoon a large majority of the lace snow was gone. Still some at very top and towards Steven’s garage but that may disappear tomorrow. We usually have a January thaw but not in 2021. No deer again today.
Did go to TOPS this evening. Had not been there for 2 weeks and only a .02# gain. I can live with that.
Prayers for Tiger Woods. I am not a golfer but the fact he is alive is a miracle.
Will catch up with everyone tomorrow. Have an appointment to give blood tomorrow afternoon.
