WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

C114S10, 16 purple points, 1223 calories (includes night time 647/string cheese), Lovely walk with friend and solo walk later, 7171 steps.
DH's 92nd birthday! Mammogram today. Yuck.
I have appointments with 3 different generator installers - Friday, Monday and Tuesday. If nothing else, it's an education - hopefully some better prices.

Space for stats I'm too tired to get it all together now but Wednesday's weight was 129.1. Skating on Monday went much better. I worked on stroking (alternating feet and one foot only on a circle), swizzles (opening and closing feet while moving continuously forward or backwards), rocking horse (alternating backwards and forward swizzles), chasses- a dance skill (one foot stroke, feet back together, lift opposite foot, another stroke on the first side) I have to say stroke, together, lift, stroke in my head in order to get more than one, half two foot turns followed by full two foot turns (I get around okay but don't have enough momentum to keep moving backwards yet). I think that was it. I stayed an hour and a quarter (12:26 PM to 1:43 PM). Got a call from the VA hospital; I will get my first Covid shot on Saturday and the second on Mar. 27. I was surprised given what they had said last week about how many people they had over 70 (!0,000) and getting only 300 doses a week. nancy, wish DH a belated Happy Birthday for me. Dad was 92 and Mom 93. I agree on the mammogram. Years ago there was some talk about a more comfortable way to do them but I guess it didn't pan out. Did anyone give to the request from ProBoards? I looked and there were two mentions of WW message board on the "make my contribution in the name of the following forum" as donors. I think I will stop for now; it is 2:00 AM.

1991 calories 1178 exercise calories 138g protein 24g fiber 1g added sugar
Dentist appointment today to get my filling and crown. Ugh.
Nancy, happiest of birthdays to DH! I don’t think you should beat yourself up or stress over K closed. Much of the reason we did that was to get a handle on the nighttime bingeing, and for the most part that’s no longer an issue for you. You have great daily stats with calories and points, and quite honestly, there’s only so much we can do before we burn out. Just my 2 cents.
Lori, great about the shot! I’ll be interested to see you how react to the second one. I heard an interesting observation yesterday: younger people seem to have a stronger reaction to the second shot than older people.
Kathy, I hope you’re getting some of these warmer temps.
Meg, that reasoning for Silver Sneakers makes sense. It’s great that there’s a waiting list and people are interested in health and fitness.
Louise, there are definitely supply and distribution issues with the vaccine. Hopefully the addition of the J & J vaccine will help a bit.

Nancy, Happy, Happy Birthday to DH!!! I agree with Jan, I think your new way of handling is perfect - if you have it, it’s already counted...if not, you have a little wiggle room the next day. I would say that problem is solved!!! I’ll be interested on hearing about the different generator estimates....
Jan, My arm is sore from first shot and I heard the same thing about 2nd shot regarding my age category. Heard symptoms shouldn’t last more than 36 hours - better than getting virus and looking forward to getting my freedom!!!
Louise, nice job with skating! Glad you have your vaccine appointments scheduled...
I was able to get a lot of work done yesterday so I have some free time working from home. Planning on a nice long lunch walk....

Louise - It must be so rewarding to accomplish new skating techniques - and what great exercise.
Jan - I am doing well with the points and calories, but the scale isn't budging. DH wants Boston Market for his birthday - I can't convince him to pick something more exciting. I'm on the border line of joining him. Maybe a meal like that will boost my metabolism. I thought maybe I need to change something to get the scale back in gear. That's why I thought about slowly lowering the k-closed number. Maybe even 1/2 hour per month.
Lori - But why do you think the scale isn't moving. I've been 143 or above the last 10 days. And that's on the home scale which would be 144.5 or above officially. That's why I'm racking my brain as to what I can change. After 12 I'm now having the built bite and the 647 and string cheese. I thought slowly moving that earlier may make a difference. Enjoy that walk. I'll try to get one in after the mammogram and before Janet leaves if possible.

Good morning, all. Day 15. Grateful for all your encouragement.
I have to start work, and then teach 3 piano lessons, but will try to be back later. Hope the sun is shining where you are!
Peace.

Nancy, Since you just started with the new way of handling your night time eating, I would suggest not changing anything for two weeks. Then reevaluate....Looking at your weight stats January and February may typically be a little higher than you start treading down...
Meg, busy day....hope all went well!
I went for a walk but was a little disappointed...the wind made it cooler than I thought it was going to be....

Lori - Yeah, it was a little chilly here too. I never had the mammogram cuz the scars from the last excision were concerning to the tech. I have to see the dermatologist first. So I went right to the mall rather than walk outside. For some reason once around was all I felt like doing, but better than nothing.
Kathy - It's hard to be in someone else's home, even if just your Mom. Temptations everywhere. Enjoy yourself, though, and please do keep in touch.
