This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here.

Good morning friends.
Well, today looks to be grocery shop day. We're finally about out of everything, Lol. Oh well! It had to happen eventually. Ha! I did have a better sleep last night, so happy about that. I've just finished my first coffee and I think I'll make another before getting ready to head out. I might even stop at the DG first for a little look around. I haven't been in there maybe a month or so.
Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say good morning. I'll BBL. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone. I guess I missed posting yesterday. I met with my new manager. (I say new - I have known him for almost 6 years and worked with him during all the time, just not for him) He is not going to be as flexible as the old manager was. He made that clear. For the most part I like my job and it is a good job, pays well and has great benefits. I can work for anyone, I may not like working for them but I can adjust so that I can. I had the appointments for my dad mixed up yesterday. I thought it was the endocrinologist calling but it was the Dr. regarding his blood thinners and blood clot that he had last year. It went fine. Then this morning we had the first 2 hour appointment with the neuro Dr. It was a virtual visit. After initial testing she does see some memory loss and wants to do further in person testing on him. That appointment will not be until the end of May. He told her and he has told the primary Dr. that he wants to cut back on his drinking or stop - so they have referred him to the substance abuse program at the VA. I am not holding my breath. I will keep an open mind about it and support his decision if that is the route he decides to go. The neuro dr. believes it is the alcohol affecting his memory. She doesn't know if there is permanent damage until he stops drinking and sees what happens............. Lora I stopped into DG yesterday and got a cute little frog birdhouse. I don't know if it is supposed to just be decorative or not but I hung it in the tree right by our sidewalk when I got home. I also want to put out hummingbird food in the spring. My mom always had hummingbird feeders. Jill I hope you are feeling better today. I love the candy idea for your students - so cute. RobinS how is your granddaughter doing? Susie I missed it - how was your trip to Chicago? RobinMD so sorry you have to go back into the office bummer. Janet glad you are seeing a light at the end of the binder tunnel - keep plugging away. You will get there.

Lora - I went to DG yesterday too.... it is so close to me. I got some cards and little St Patricks' Day treats for DGKs
Jana - I don't think you really missed anything...my trip was to Boston and then Lake Ossipee, NH (where DD's future in-laws have a lake house). We ordered DD's wedding gown in Boston and then headed the NH the next day where both DDs and the DGDs to go skiing. It was great...there was snow there, but we got NO additional snow, ice, or anything (other than bitter cold) while we were there. We were much better off than everyone in VA where the ice storms hit!
OK...off to outdoor ex. class!

Shopping done and I think we can probably go 10 days to 2 weeks before I have to make an other shop. Well...unless there is just a random one off thing we need between now and then. At DG I found the absolute cutest glass storage jars with wooden stopper style lids. There were 2 or 3 different sizes. I bought a tall one and a shorter one. I'm using the tall one for cute décor/storage for my dishwasher tabs, so I can keep them on the counter above the dishwasher. It says Farmers Market with a cow or pig in the middle. Super cute! The writing and the animal is white and kind of distressed or faint on them, so it's not like it stands out too much or is to bold. I LOVE them.
Jana - fingers crossed for the substance abuse program for Pops (and for you!). I know if he could stop that would probably take a lot of stress off of you. Personally, I don't see "cutting back" as a viable option really. You and I know all about moderation vs. abstinence, when it's an addictive substance, don't we? Lol I saw your frog bird house at the store today. It's adorable! I almost took a picture of it and messaged it to you, but realized I'd left my phone in the truck...Haha!
Susie - enjoy your outdoor exercise session! I laughed when I saw that both you and Jana had stops at the DG. I saw a hilarious meme on FB the other day, it was that first picture from Mars, and somebody had photo shopped in a DG store front and sign. Yep, they truly are EVERYWHERE! Haha!
Okay, I have a few things to do around here. Have a great day everyone!

So I filled up my new containers with my cleaning tabs, I have one on the counter of the island over the dishwasher and the other in the half bath and I LOVE them. Then Mark spotted them and started asking questions about them. Turns out, he likes them to. So we're going back to the DG this evening to buy some more. These will be on the kitchen counter next to the coffee makers and will hold ground coffee, tea bags, etc. I'm so excited. I'm hoping some day to have a furniture piece to use as a coffee bar, if I do manage to get that these will be perfect for that as well.
