WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C77D7, 8 water, 29 points, all ghgs except only 2 milk, 1407 calories, 3427 fitbit steps, 1 Binge April
Jane – No, I haven’t seen my neighbor yet. The funeral was just Saturday and it was too far away to attend. I will give her a week or so, when the shock is not quite so raw, before calling her. And yes, the new approach to eating has been a learning experience. I must give you credit to my return to calorie counting. 1200 is doable but definitely challenging. I wish you luck making it unscathed until your vacation. Have you given any thought to how you will be handling the food in Italy? The good news is that travelling has never been troublesome for you.
Edesia – It was wise to dump the pizza – it’s horrible to waste the points/calories on something that isn’t good. At least it was just a couple of slices of pizza. We’ve gone to expensive places when the food was horrible. Invariably we leave and go somewhere for a sinful dessert just to offset the disappointment. Lori – 4 miles is a solid walk. Well deserved relaxation in the sunshine afterwards. Katy – Is it possible your goal isn’t realistic? Either way, your weight is going in the right direction and that’s all any of us can ask for.

Good morning!
It's beautiful weather here. Alex should be playing in his first baseball game of the season, but the coaches are holding the incident against him and I don't think he'll be playing. I'm taking it harder than he is, at least outwardly.
My little break is over; I'll be diligently counting calories this week. I'm hoping to tackle some of the mindless eating I've been doing.
Lori, it was just gorgeous here yesterday also. Today will be more of the same, and I'm thankful I have the afternoon off.
Edesia, what a bummer re: the pizza. We ordered from our usual place for the first time in months last weekend. I normally love their thin crust veggie pizza, but this wasn't good at all. Blah.
Waving to everyone!

Morning, BFF's! Dinner last night was fun and delicious. I had a reasonable portion of everything and did not feel overstuffed. To my surprise, the vegetable dish I brought was a big hit with everyone. It was a surprise because there are a lot of picky eaters in the group. I brought the dish as an option for DH and my older niece who is vegetarian. My youngest niece said, "This is good. Even I like it!" I'm not working today. I will be doing a lot of cooking for the holiday. Good Pesach to all who celebrate!
Nancy - Your comment about seeking dessert to offset the disappointment of a bad meal made me laugh. Completely legit. ; )
Jan - Every pizza place we have ever loved seems to be for a limited time only (sometimes for many years) until something changes, e.g. ownership, change in the recipe, cut back on ingredients, etc. Then we are off to find a new place to love. Thankfully, there are so many around to choose from and it is a fun quest!

Howdy folks!
Fabulous weekend...gorgeous day yesterday! "opening day" (impromptu) at our outdoor pickleball venue. Had to finish food prep before I could go but I made it! It was SO fun. AND dinners/lunches for the week are all prepped. I love it when the fridge is full of all those little containers.
Said I was going to start journaling this week but haven't done it. Eating, however, has been better.
And so it goes...
happy Monday to all!

Hi BFFs,
Weekend went very well. I was happy with my eating and my steps!! Ate our three times and kept things enjoyable and in control. I'm actually enjoying writing in my "back on track" journal. I think it's really going to help to have one source to look back on and see - How did I get back on track....
Have a great Monday everyone!! Lori

C30. D18. OP. Tracking. Little exercise. Had a medical procedure today and am recouping. Hoping I feel well enough to stretch and walk tomorrow. Weird eating, but within my points range.
Anyone doing WW online via smart phone? It has this Blue Dot system that is totally motivating for me. If I stay between 27 and 37 points I get a blue dot. It also checks that you don't get most of you points from one sweet treat. For example, one day I had 30 points but 15 were one piece of pound cake. No blue dot.
I writing from my phone, so limited personal replies but I am reading all.
