Good morning
Amy thanks for the start. Hope you are feeling better. I always buy bananas a little green because they tend to ripen so fast.
I walked a little over 8 miles yesterday. 4 on the towpath. My feet were screaming when I got home.

Hello! Thanks for starting us Amy!
Wow, Brenda, WTG on the miles yesterday!
I walked at Onondaga Lake Park yesterday, about 5 miles. That's the farthest I walked since last May before my foot surgery! I'm feeling it, arg! My lower back is achy as well as my hips and even knees and feet, lol. SuSu says that's not unusual for someone returning to walking or running after a long time off. And that I should take it easy :-)
I will be careful but I can live with a little temporary back pain while trying to get my walking/running legs back again! Besides yesterday's 5 mile walk I did 3 3 mile walks during the week (I think) as well as a few spinning classes. The big thing is I HAVE TO stretch after my walks and start being regular with my ab crunches.

I'm going to try to walk at least a mile most mornings before work just to get back into my old routine that worked so well for me! I even jogged a teensy bit today -walked 9 minutes, 1 minute jog, walked 9 minutes, 1 minute jog which added up to 1 20 minute mile. Not terribly impressive but it's a start. I plan to walk another 2 miles after work then go to the gym for weights and a spinning class. I HAVE TO get outdoors today, it's supposed to get into the mid to upper 70s, woohooooo!

Mo, hope you see this! Absolutely bring Jim! He'd be welcome to hang out at the park or go for a walk while the race is going on. Or shoot, just relax and sleep in while we're walking and/or running! If it's okay with you I might run this one -IF I'm able to run then. Susan and I are usually a mother/daughter team -they combine your times and if I could get back to decent running shape we would possibly have a shot at placing in the top 3. IF IF IF I get this weight off and am running again! I'm working on being in the 150s by June, the 130s by August.
Brenda, maybe you could still join us? There's race day registration and maybe if it wasn't too hot, you'd be able to join us. August weather in Syracuse can be unpredictable. It won't be too cold but we've had races where I started out in long sleeves with morning temps in the 50s. The race starts at 9:00am and sometimes the temps may not reach the 70s or higher until afternoon.
