I hope everything is in place now and it is just a matter of getting it all unpacked. Love the new picture bet you are counting the days until this is all over, you are in the home stretch now!!!

I think it is just going to take me a few days to warm back up after that cold spell here thanks for asking (((Beth)))

Deb, I am so seriously pooped...I feel like I didn't take care of my body in 2016 (oh yeah, I exercised but I also pushed myself too many times.) So, the hope is that we just don't wander around living out of bags and boxes for too long, LOL. J still has next week off, so I want to find the *blend* of some settling in with him still feeling like he has a break. There will be a couple of trips to Salem, I was stunned at how much we were able to get out yesterday, but I have a Goodwill donation to organize, etc. Anyway, all good. There is a time that I would have thrown a huge hissy fit about the piano, it's always hard to watch it go up, but this has never happened. We took out extra insurance for it, I have an appraisal on it, I presume it will all be fine. It's a good thing I'm playing again because I have gotten seriously sick of finding a place big enough to hold it, but Brady and Dana want it, so I'd hate for it to final give it's last gasp, LOL.

I am almost afraid to ask ksbruns but how is it structurally? I am having visions of a piano two floors up crashing to smithereens like out of some action movie.

Yikes. Me too....I can hear that big Twang and tinkle, tinkle, tinkle....not a fun item to move. Hope it is okay. Glad it will have a new home at some point. Pianos do like to stay put....
Sending resting vibes Kathy and Deb. Tis the season to sip tea and watch Hallmark movies or something more mind numbing for the beverage and the TV.
Don't you love phone hotspots....boy, sometimes I forget that we grew up without computers and phones.

Good morning everyone. I'm late this morning as I was able to sleep longer than usual. But now I don't have much leisure time for coffee.
I'm seriously thinking about postponing Christmas until New Years. We have a strong possibility of a major storm tomorrow, Christmas Day and into Monday with snow, strong winds, and blizzard conditions. I don't want my son or grandson driving in that. I guess we'll see what develops tomorrow.
Today I need to fulfill a soap order and deliver it. I promised it before Christmas and today has got to be the day. Which means I need to finish my coffee and get going.
Have a great Christmas.

DebDoesWW thyme2 It seems to be okay structurally and it *plays* just fine. But, I want a technician to check it over so if something goes wrong in 6 months I'm not out of my warranty from the move. Beth, I was just saying to J this AM how I loved technology; sure, it's a PITA when it doesn't work, but I looked on the Comcast app to see if it said anything about our appt (no annoying phone call!) and there was a picture of the tech and saying he was on his way...just like Uber, LOL. How much am I loving just wandering around posting this AM? I think the early morning starts were probably the hardest thing for me with the move. I am drinking some Keurig at the moment, but will rouse myself to find my Clever Coffee in a few....can't go all weekend without that!

Kathy, I'm right there on the <OMG!> when I read that your teeny, tiny <-tongue firmly in cheek here piano had been dropped (as I remember when the grand at the church took a spill off the choir riser). Glad that it's playing OK and that the case doesn't seem damaged - but yes, a good idea to get a professional to sign off on its integrity. Glad to read that you're livable through Christmas Eve & Day. And I am definitely sending good thoughts that next week can be a combination of settling-in and time-OFF.

In our household, years of "missing Christmas" due to church music work created a desire to celebrate The Twelve Days of Christmas - something a little special every day from Christmas through Epiphany. Then at least I felt as though I'd HAD a Christmas season.
Must go pretend to work... DayJob is lurking, waiting to pounce...
*** <OMG>. An e-mail just dinged in that has all the potential of being The Nightmare Before Christmas. <aaack!>.

We are going to be figuring out our new holidays these next years. I was not raised in a liturgical church, but J is all about the Epiphany, and I think would love that idea. I can remember so many Christmas dinners where his face was basically in his plate from exhaustion.

Festival of lights was beautiful but stood in a line longer than any line at Disney. They said they 2400 people a night . The grands loved it! Where has the morning gone? DH is off and we read the paper and I started setting the table. Not much on the agenda today, yay! Going to Sticky Fingers tonight so DH can get his free rack of ribs. I like the potato skin with bbq pork and the smoked chicken salad! @ ksbruns, true story. When we moved ourselves we played for a piano mover. A young kid came in with a dolley, lifted the piano and slid it under. I about had a heart attack. We had rented a uhaul $20 and paid $40 for the piano mover. All went well and I still have 55 year old Baldwin spinet that needs work! pbnj , thinking of you and sending strength and hugs!
