WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

C115D4, 22 purple points, 1292 calories, 46 grams fiber, 76 grams protein, once around community and some errands, 7049 steps.
Line dancing and out to lunch tomorrow. I'm going to try my darnedest to enter the calories rather than isolating the meal.

Yesterday was picture perfect: 77º and sunshine, very light breeze. We have a few more days of warmer temps. I’m giving blood tomorrow evening so I’ll know next week whether I still have antibodies.
Kathy, hope you’re doing well. Did you get your vaccine yet? I have heard that the J & J vaccine causes more symptoms for people who’ve had the virus. I hope that’s not the case for you.
Nancy, love your creative treat! I’m like Lori, if I’m having something sweet I tend to save it until the end of the day. It sounds like it didn’t set off any cravings for you. Lucky!
Waving to Lori and Meg 😃

Jan - It's raining here today. I'll be interested to hear about the antibodies since my Columbus family just got over covid and will be here in a couple of weeks. Fortunately DH and I should be safe but still curious since NJ family will be part of that weekend. Actually the smore didn't seem to lead to cravings. This morning I had a premier protein shake for breakfast - it should hold me over thru line dancing and seems a good choice since I'm going out to lunch.

Day 56. So far, so good, though I see DH bought graham crackers. I can eat a whole box. So I'm doing "none is better than one" unless I decide to PLAN one in.
Racquetball in a bit.
Peace.

Have been ill, possibly from the vaccinations. Unfortunately this took me out of the skating show as I didn't feel well enough to make the rehearsals. My weight got down to 123 although I think I've gained back a few of those over the last day or two.

The weather started out rainy and turned out to be Beautiful! It was a busy on campus day, just got back from a nice, sunshine walk.
Nancy, Glad you enjoyed the s’mores didn’t lead cause any urges....hope you enjoyed your lunch out today. if you need help estimating calories, let me know. Remember, it’s just data....
Jan, good luck regarding antibodies....hope your still protected.
Meg, I listened to the podcast you heard the scale mentioned....sorry, I don’t have any recommendations. At one point in my journey, the scale use to dedicate how my day would go....if it was down, it was a good day, up - I would throw in the towel, crazy....At one point, I had DH write the scale number in my book so I didn’t have to see it until the end of the day....that worked for a while. Another time I had him hide it. I do like the idea that it’s just data and I’m now focused more on the average since we all know it can go up and down for many, many reasons.....
Louise, so sorry to hear you were ill and missed the skating show. Glad your feeling better now. Which vaccine did you get? Was it from the 1st shot or 2nd shot? Did the illness last more than 36 hours???

K successfully closed midnight #40.
Line dancing was so much fun. We were 15 today which fills the room. We were only allowed 13 but I didn't have the heart to turn them away and nobody checks. I'm having much less of a problem incorporating the newbies than I expected. What helps is that for a while we keep everyone facing front instead of turning on the 4 wall dances.
Lori - So I had a cuban sandwich which states 650 calories on the menu. I chose the cuban sandwich closest to 650 calories (704) to track on MFP and the closest to 650 calories on WW to track points. We also had some tortilla chips and salsa which I tracked both places to the best of my ability. I had the premier shake for breakfast which was filling enough that I didn't think of food once until lunch. BTW the new weight has been holding for 3 days in a row which never happens. This day will louse up my averages but maybe I can cut back a bit on Thurs and Fri to offset some of it. It's an education for sure. Thanks so much. To tell you the truth, I would have been perfectly happy with half the sandwich but ate the whole thing. Another lesson for the future. Same weather here.
Meg - Now you're tempting me with the graham crackers which I intended only for the smores. TBD.
Louise - That's a bummer about the skating show. When is the next one? I hope you're feeling much better now.

Louise: So sorry to hear you're ill. Hope you get a good sleep and wake refreshed and ready to skate!
I planned and had 2 graham crackers with my collage tea this afternoon. No issues. Yay!
I've had your orange smoothie twice now, ladies, and it's very good. I'm adding 1/2 orange and some Baobab powder (which is very citrusy-tasting), and it tastes like an Orange Julius to me! For the win!
Gotta get enough energy to go shower..... G'night, all.

Meg - Haha I also had two graham crackers. You led me to them. So good. I'm glad you like the creamsicle smoothies. I do as well. Are you aware there are other flavors of those crushes? I like the strawberry and also the pineapple. I have the grape but haven't tried it yet.
Kathy - Nice to see you. Good luck with the vaccine. Your first or second?

Nancy, So proud of you for enjoying your lunch and tracking it! Great idea to have a high protein breakfast! Okay to cut back on calories, a little, but not lower than 1200. I’ve also been doing a little experiment. I’ve been taking home one dessert from work. Looking up the calories and fitting it in. Last night I had 1/2 a s’mores cupcake. DH enjoyed the other half. It’s an eye opener to see how many calories are in one little cupcake. I’m hoping this will help me with overdoing it at Special occasions/holidays. It feels so good to be able to enjoy a treat without overdoing it!!
Meg, Wonderful to hear no issues with graham crackers! And your enjoying the smoothie! The more we learn to fit in foods we enjoy surrounded with healthy eating the more successful we will be on this journey!
Kathy, Good luck with your vaccine! Jan, hope blood test goes well... Louise, hope you continue to feel well....
