Thanks for our start June. I hope you have a relaxing weekend. Iβll be walking outdoors today since the temperature is only in the low 80s and after breakfast will be doing our grocery shopping at Trader Joeβs and the Market. I am planning on a quiet Motherβs Day weekend just to do some work outside in the yard and a little bit in the house. Happy weekend everyone

Thanks for the start June. I will gladly send you some heat. It's supposed to be 88 tomorrow and 93 on Sunday. The ground at night still isn't warm enough to get any tomatoes or cucumbers although we are getting little yellow buds on the tomatoes and a flower is growing on a vine on one of my cucumber plants.
Ann Be careful tomorrow and come back sharing all the good stories about Benjamin. What a wonderful Mother's Day present.
Audrey I'm sorry the delivery man didn't call your cell p hone. Have a good weekend. I haven't seen Driscoll strawberries around here in several years. They used to have Driscoll raspberries and blackberries at Walmart but I haven't seen them either.
We will go to Walmart tomorrow because their strawberries are cheaper and better than HEB. I need some drinks and want to look in the garden center. If I don't find anything we may go to the only nursery we have in Elgin.
Have a great Mother's Day weekend all. Some years I miss my mom more than others and this seems to be one of those years. Fur babies are wonderful but not always the same as having your own to see and hopefully spend time with. Oh well tomorrow is a new day.

Good morning Relaxing w/ my first cup of tea & reading personals. I have only one item that I would prefer to accomplish today-- submit grades.
Ann So excited! Hope that trip is an easy one to kick off Benjamin's adjustment period. A traditional meatball & pasta dinner sounds like a perfect way to celebrate your new "fur baby."
Audrey I reread personals in case something did not register the first time. Belated happy birthday to Hayes. Driscoll berries are usually some of the best. Hope they figure out how to adapt their production.
Bee Was nice to see that lovely tangerine hibiscus again. I had a thought about juicing. Perhaps you could use some vitamin-dense, ready-made juice like V-8 when you cook? I am like you. I like to sink my teeth into food, so smoothies never much appealed to me.
Becky Love that the weather conditions allowed Kenneth to grill burgers. Reading about a handy-camper husbands warms my heart. Cathy Hope that you are able to talk with your children & grandchildren for Mom's Day. My niece works for a nonprofit in NYC, which is working on an initiative to push modern youth apprenticeships. She feels that a MA in ecomonics from Bard College will help her scale the movement. She moves on the fringes of major philanthropists.
LaDonna Hope that your busy Mother's Day weekend gets started on the right note. LOL. . . I am wondering what special gift Lucy will give you & Laken for MD. She is sure to make you sell laugh over dome antic this weekend.
Mj LOL. . . You had better not tell too many people that you work for hugs & burgers. You are likely to be booked for a decade! Do you have any plans for MD?
Susi Hope that all the handyman projects to prepare your outdoor space are soon completed. Just curious-- does anyone from the animal adoption program check on Lily?

Saturday's goals Submit grades. (They can be updated if there is a last-minute need. No final grades are "final" until the Registrar rolls over the grade). Enjoy the spinach feta omelette that R and a second cup of tea is making. The rest of my day will be -- whatever aI feel like doing.

LaDonna You are so sweet for asking. R's big summer project is replacing the roof. It is old, but is not leaking nor has it been damaged by weather or tree limbs Two years ago he replaced the roof on our two-car garage and small, enclosed porch attached to the house. So. . . He wanted to buy the shingles & weather resistant membrane while he could save 11% on supplies. When the weather is a little warmer & less wet, then he can jump onto the task.
i have to investigate renting a dumpster.

Yesterday I checked out the plants that I have in MY garden (same township but we rarely have deer here) and I have several that can work at the MousekeHouse if she wants to try them. The benefit there is that shared cuttings are free so if she doesn't like them or the deer DO like them, she can pull them out and start over. We'll talk today.
There is a plan for some work at the MousekeHouse but the weather is iffy - not raining now, but it may be on the way. We'll see. There's also a refrigerator to move from the MousekeHouse to Son#1's garage.
Coffee... βοΈβοΈβοΈ... and morning prayer...
ππ¦ππππ¦ππππ¦ππππ¦π Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all! ππ¦ππππ¦ππππ¦ππππ¦π

Ann, have a good trip to get Benjamin. June, I wonder if berry production will stabilize now that restaurants are reopening. There was another article about the high cost of chicken brought on by all of the fast food restaurants serving chicken sandwiches or wings. We used to buy chickens for 99 cents a pound and now the least expensive are $1.49 a pound. I think once the grades are submitted you should just enjoy the day with whatever relaxing things you find to do. LaDonna, have a wonderful day. Becky, are you still helping with the calves? Cathy, I hope you had a good talk with your daughter. MJ, I hope you and Toots aren't moving the refrigerator. Our younger daughter has an app on her phone that tells her what a plant is when she sees it during a walk and wants to consider it for her yard. She is trying to create flower beds of blooming less care perennials. We have no deer but a friend a mile a way has had damage done by them. She is at the end of a bluff and they go up the hill to eat her plants.

Taking a quick break while the floors dry. I have the cake made and Laken is going to work on the salad that we will take to Caroline's tonight. I may go ahead and get the hot dog chili prepared for tomorrow's lunch. We are doing easy since we are all going to church in the morning. Randy will be grilling the hot dogs and I'm making homemade chili, slaw, potato casserole and baked beans. Mom wants to bring a pie. Not sure what kind it will be. I have a key lime pie in the freezer if we need something extra. June, great idea to get the roofing materials while on sale. building supplies are so high right now and may not go back down anytime soon if at all. great planning Cathy, glad u popped in - nice to get to have a chat with DD. MJ, do be careful with the refrigerator moving. Audrey, I need to look for that app. Randy and I were just wondering about some plants we saw. Thanks for the tip

Audrey Thatβs a neat app. I saw one that identified rocks. My sister has one for butterflies. Butter noticed that it incorrectly a Swallowtail butterfly. I agreed w/ you. I should do what I feel like doingβ for the whole weekend. We can still buy while chickens for 99 cd to a lb. But who knows for how long? I have some skinless, boneless chicken breast that I bought for $1.69 a lb. and cutlets for $1.78. Feel like those were pretty good prices given the unusual supply/ demand situation.
Ann Sending prayers for a good drive & day.
Mj Neat idea to share your cuttings. Great way to save $$.
LaDonna So sweet of your Mom to want to bring a pie. A mystery pie! Hot dogs must be the thing! I bought a pack of all beef hot dogs on sale. Every now & then R and I like to toast some on a fire out back.
