WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

Good morning!
I was having a great, OP day yesterday until about 9:30 when I finished the last 2 chocolate covered strawberries and got the cashews out of the cabinet. Back at it today.
Lori, safe travels home. I know all about germaphobic kids; I have one too. The pandemic brought it out in him. At one point he was washing his hands at least 50 times a day and they were bleeding. He’s finally stopped sanitizing everything and is working on not washing his hands as much. It broke my heart to see him struggling so much.
Meg, yep on the pecans.
Nancy, did you add any white foods that you weren’t previously eating much of?

Day 91. Hoping for another OP day.
Jan: I guess I didn't know kids could be germaphobes. It's kinda amazing we aren't ALL that way, with the scary messages coming at us every day from the media. Peace to him.
Long day - gotta go.

Driving thru Virginia....should be home by early afternoon tomorrow. Hit traffic yesterday - bridge closed due to crack.....Didn’t get as far as we would have liked - the joys of road trips. Eating is going well but I can feel my will power windling...temptations are harder to resist. Glad I have a lot of heathy, satisfying options. Saving one treat for end of night. Last night stopped at a Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen for dinner, bread basket - croissant w/ honey butter (saved that for my treat), ordered the only healthy option - 5oz grilled salmon, rice and broccoli/cheese - so good!! Today for 1st meal at McAllister’s ordered 1/2 turkey, avocado sand on 9 grain w/ 1/2 pecan/berry salad. I’m finding most restaurants list calories, so I’ve been entering in MFP. It’s going to be very interesting to see what the average calorie count and weight will be....all data!!
Nancy, Great stats!!
Jan, like how you quickly course correct!
Meg, Yeah to letter perfect day! Hope today went well.
