Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning all. Up really early today (6:45) because the delivery people are due anytime after 8 am to bring us a couch - FINALLY!!!! I did not need this today; but we could use a couch!
Sorry I did not get on yesterday. I did not feel well. Woke up, hurt all over, stomach hurt, head hurt; so I went back to bed a couple times. We were supposed to pick up Mara yesterday but I sent DS a message and told him I just was not up to it. I did a little bit of cleaning and helped Stan move a couple pieces of furniture around. We need to move my chair and side table yet; but Stan isn’t in a hurry! He doesn’t feel great because he didn’t sleep well. I’m some better today; just tired. So we will go get Mara after lunch.
Can’t remember what I wrote Monday. We got the Outback sold on Monday. That was nice. $$ to put in the bank; they paid off the loan; so we got $$; lost the $430 car payment; no more $425 tabs; no more ins. $, etc. It took longer than it should have; but doesn’t everything?
Waving to everyone. Will bbl. Hockey tonight and tomorrow night vs. Cathy’s Blues. Last 2 regular season games. Cathy is busy with John’s cousin-in-law Jody. Her yearly (or twice yearly) visit.
More later!

Ruth, glad that selling the car went okay even though it took longer than you expected. Yay for getting rid of a car payment, that is always nice. What time did the couch arrive? I hope you like it after the long wait. Hopefully you and Stan are both feeling better now.
Waving to Joyce and Martha, hope you are both having a good day.
Tomorrow we have a lot of stuff to bring to the college that DS#2 teaches at. The public TV station in our town was getting rid of a lot of electronic items. They contacted DS (some of the people at the station knew he taught at the college) to see if the college could use the items. At the time his department was going thru a remodeling project and had nowhere to store the items, so he stored them in our basement. On another day we want to deliver a good size shelving unit that he has down there also. Getting rid of those things will make a huge difference in the basement. We keep doing something every day. I packed up some of the linens in the linen closet. I did get rid of quite a few but at this time I plan on keeping the ones I packed. I went to Sam’s (about 5 min from my house) to get a few things and decided to get gas since the car was down to ¼ tank. It was crazy. First of all there were several pumps that were being repaired and they were blocked plus the repairmen kept walking in front of cars to get things from their truck. It took me 18 minutes from the time I got in line till I pulled out – UGH!!!. The gas shortage isn’t supposed to be affecting us but it seems to be.

Waving HI as I fly thru. (((hugs))) No problems with vaccine. I was out of the building in less than 30 min. Appt was at 7:30. Went to work building to dbl ck that I had all my personal stuff & wiped down the desk. Took some pictures of ergo desk setup for DH. Made it home before I had to pay more for buss fare. Had tentative plans to see aunt/uncle this wkend. DCousin & I talked. She is coming from MT, with her daughter & kids. She's not sure how her dad will handle all of the noise & confusion, so she asked that I not come over this wkend. Not a problem. She hasn't seen her DDad for almost 2 yrs. Good evening. Watching the hockey game. So far not going well. Wild needs to take this more seriously!!!
Dottie, Stan sold the car to CarMax. Part of what took so long was an account # we didn’t have and needed. Since they paid off our car loan, they needed our loan #. We had taken the paperwork with the loan payoff amount; but it only had the last 4 digits of the loan #. I don’t do any kind of banking/cc’s or anything on my phone normally; and reception there was awful. Took me about 6 tries to get into our CC account that it’s with same company; then finally I realized I had to go into the Subaru loan site to get the actual account #. The guy said he was glad I was so persistent!! It was persist or make a trip home to find the loan papers or get online on my ipad at home and figure it out. Once I had that info, went fast!! Stan was very happy with the amount they gave us; about $2,000 LESS than sticker; and we did NOT pay sticker when we bought it. So we came out ok.
They delivered the couch about 8:20 this morning. They had told us it might be before 8:30 because we were their first stop. Shortly after they dropped it off and we looked around and went back to bed. We were so tired! Slept for about an hour until Stan’s phone rang and then we got up and started moving furniture (the coffee table has to go and had to be cleaned out). Still have to decide on where couch & 2 chairs go. Couple options for where to put the couch. Yeah, the couch was darker fabric than we remembered and those stupid throw pillows aren’t what I ordered at all I don’t think. But at this point I just want to be done!
We picked up Mara after a stop at Trader Joe’s. It was so nice out we got her out to play in the back yard for about an hour. Was close to 70 and sunny. She played on the swing, on the slide, in the sandbox, kicked the soccer ball all over and ran around having a good time and soaking up vitamin D. It’s to be 70 and sunny tomorrow so hope to get her out twice around in-house work!!!
Martha, why did you take all your personal belongings out of the office? Will you only be working from home from now on?
Hope Joy is doing ok and just forgot to post!
Dottie, DS has the most stuff of our kids still here; except for the girls’ clothes I’m getting rid of. And she’s not giving them to me much anymore thankfully. She’s giving some to friends and just donating the rest. I may donate more of what I have here also. DS has probably 25 hockey sticks. May start trying to sell some of those or else donate. He’d like to play again someday; but my guess is he’ll want new sticks. He may have a couple special ones to keep. And we have diving equipment that younger DD/DSIL want; and this summer they will take it or we’ll get rid of it.
Ok, going to do a couple chores while I’m sitting here. I’m sorting thru all the papers, magazines, etc. that were in the coffee table and end tables. Want to recycle a bunch of that! More tomorrow!
