Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Martha, yeah for a good nights’ sleep. Sound like you really needed some extra rest. I guess it makes sense not to leave your personal items in the office since you are there on such a limited basis.
Waving to Ruth and Joyce, hope you are both having a good day.
I got rid of more stuff today. I took 2 canvas bags of paper that needed shredding to the senior center. They aren’t open yet but on Fridays they put a locked bin out to put the paper in. Then I went to the church thrift store and dropped off a trash bag full of clothes that Bill and I no longer wear. I did stop by the library but they aren’t accepting donations yet, hopefully in another week or two. I had lunch with my church friends, it was good seeing everyone. It was great day for sitting on the patio at my friends’ house, main problem is the pollen blowing around. My throat is not scratchy, but it was great seeing everyone.

Good evening. Didn’t realize I hadn’t posted yesterday until just now. I’ve been tired and been reading a lot so haven’t been on my iPad as much. Haven’t posted on a lot of the threads I’m on. I try to do a little maintenance on the 3 sale sites I’m an Admin on and that’s about it lately. I had read a new book by one of my favorite authors that older DD also likes. Turns out that book was the first in a new series that is just a continuation of an old series; but she changed publishers and had to change series names. Anyway, I mentioned to DD that I hadn’t read that previous series but sounded like a good one. I had downloaded the first book in the series but hadn’t read it. She had all of them (she’s the one who introduced me to this author) and she had an old Kindle and she made sure all the books were downloaded on it and gave it to me to borrow on Mother’s Day. So I’ve been enjoying one after the other in order. But I’ve not been staying up late reading!!!
We took Mara home late afternoon. When we got home younger DD was here with H/S for us to watch overnight. DSIL is flying and DD wanted to be able to get in a long run (she’s signed up for 2 marathons this year) tomorrow. We told her we’d help her out on weekends when he’s gone. We don’t have a lot of social life otherwise (sound like Joy!!!) so will spend time with grands!!!
We do like the couch ok. Is a little longer than I thought it would be; but it’s not super heavy. DD helped Stan move the other recliner tonight so that’s finally done. We’ll leave the furniture this way for a while and see how we like it. We do have options which we didn’t have before for furniture placement. The throw pillows won’t end up on it much anyway, my family hates them and tosses them when they sit down. That and throws (blankets, afghans, etc.) end up on the floor! Drives me crazy, but that’s how they roll.
Dottie, you are doing great getting rid of things. I had a pick up today scheduled but cancelled it because I hadn’t gotten anything ready. Tomorrow Stan is taking our old coffee table (it’s too big) and our old vacuum cleaner to Bridging. They are doing an unusual Saturday drop off day and so he’ll run in there in the morning. And DD took home a diaper box full of cross-stitch supplies. I’ll see what DIL wants of what’s left or the twin DGDs and then will donate the rest. Will try that craft shop that is down near DD. DS has some things in boxes besides the hockey sticks. They are on shelves so at least out of the way. Once we get some of what’s in his garage and basement taken care of, we’ll move these there.
Martha, makes sense to not leave things at work if you don’t go in there often. Maybe have a “to go” bag of coffee mug, water bottle, and a few snacks ready to take with when needed.
Joy, bet you are so excited about that new car being ready to go! Pictures, we want pictures!!!!
How do you all feel about the new mask mandates for people who are vaccinated? We have decided we are still going to wear masks in stores and when in crowds (which we will try to avoid); and we won’t be doing much if any indoor dining. We still have Mara to protect. She doesn’t wear a mask yet (a job just like potty training her); and we don’t take her inside anywhere; and her parents are worried too. I’m guessing they will both still be masking up for the foreseeable future also! We just think this lifting of restrictions is too soon. There’s no way to tell who actually is or isn’t vaccinated.
Ok, time to get these two girls into bed. Made slime with one tonight; more slime with this one and cupcakes with the older one tomorrow.
Will try to get on here tomorrow!!! Have a good night all.
