This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph, with the following 2021 Goals:
Carole: 1.) Journal Daily, thoughts, feelings, ideas 2.) Track daily, Good, Bad, Ugly, HONESTLY 3.) Move every day, 10-30 minutes, as able 4.) Limit/Reduce Alcohol, All of it! 5.) Be thankful for something - every day.
Gabrielle 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc.) 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire. 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc.) 4. Creativity -- seek out projects that keep me using the creative side of my brain (knitting, paint parties?, etc.) 5. Journaling/Self-Awareness--find a way to journal my thoughts and to think through challenges and opportunities
Sue: 1. Get moving - plan to utilize my Cubii 3-5 times per week at least 2. Moderation - limiting junk, snacks, wine and all things I know that sabotage my success 3. Daily Gratitude - continue our November daily gratitude. 4. Start a journal - my "Life & Apples" journal will arrive later in the week. 5. Be more "present" - in life, in my journey, with family & friends, in all aspects of my world.
Jenny 1) I'm moving to a clean eating plan like more veggie dishes and less red meat 2) I pulled out my Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser's " Yoga for weight loss DVD" and do that in the evening since it's pouring down rain here. 3) Cut way back on the wine at nights, they sell those tiny little bottles that have 5oz in them and limit myself to only 1-2 per day, that can work right? 4) Track everything even if I'm in the negatives and hold myself accountable
Christine: 1. Cardio exercise daily (walk, stationary bike) 2. FOLLOW the WW Plan using Honesty. 3. Daily gratitude - Say something NICE each morning
Karen: 1. Take one step at a time and be kind to myself. 2. Move by getting my kayak on the water at least one day per week... it will be more as the weather warms. 3. Stick to my intermittent fasting schedule. 4. Try to sleep reasonably.
Shelly: 1. Be more organized at work. Never leave with stuff on my desk 2. Be there for people when they need someone to lean on 3. Stick with WW plan!!! No matter what!!!! 4. Be a better influence on those around me.

Good morning - SENSIBLE SATURDAY!! Need to remain SENSIBLE - and FOCUSED, even on the weekend!! Eden (and I) slept "in" until 6:30 this morning ~ Zoë woke up shortly thereafter, so we three are all up! Ken & Tracy are still sleeping!! We are headed to the zoo this morning - so I will be getting plenty of steps, and plenty of water! I will do my best to keep my eating as sensible as I can, given we may hit fast food today! But - it's one day - hoping for nice weather (chance of showers) and good moods!
Yesterday was a pretty good day - even fairly busy at work! LOL A few things came in Thursday while I was out, that I had to submit backup documentation for our denial of claims! A PITA But gave me some actual work to do - to pull all the documents together and submit the forms, etc.! My moving wasn't as good - but today will make up for that!
Coffee is ready so let me catch up in a bit ♥

Sue: Yay for a normal busy day, no lugging!
Gabrielle: Oh geeze, I can only imagine presenting on Zoom! It can't be the easiest or most gratifying of ways to hold a meeting! Seems so strange to think you are still concerned with snow. Hoping your run today is in clear weather - and clear roadways! We are 64 already this morning! YAY! Even slept with windows open last night.
OH my Gramma kept track of the morning and evening temps, as well as the weather in general - and each day is mostly about "done up my work as usual"! LOL Monday was wash day, Tuesday was ironing day, Wednesday was finish up ironing and then some baking. Just cool to read. I can tell my sisters when they had the mumps! LOL
Oh the girls sat and dangled their feet last night! They wanted to get in, but we have no steps in yet! LOL I think they will be in next weekend, when we celebrate Jaclyn's BD!
Oh yes, tuna on celery is always yummy.
Oh dear - HOW do they schedule so MANY meetings in one day??
Hoping today you have a good run and then can get some down time - away from work-work, for at least the day!
Jenny: Oh I am not sure the books would be worth much, they are not in great condition. The paper jackets are torn, like I said there is writing in some... I don't think we have anywhere around here to see if they are worth anything - but I kept the boxes (again)! I do love reading Gramma's writing, I just wish I had kept more of them! The zoo we are going to is a small one - hoping it is worth it! LOL Whatever we see - will be good for the girls, instead of just staying home and doing nothing - or the usual!

OK Time to get myself moving, and get these girls to eat some breakfast before we head out. This zoo doesn't allow food to be brought in, and it doesn't seem they sell any either, so not sure what the day will bring! LOL We'll have some snacks in the car, we may have to take a snack break, and go back inside? We'll figure it out when we get there I guess!
Ken and I will go out to dinner before coming home, or grab Subway and come home - we'll play it by ear, after we figure out when/where/what's for lunch! Tonight Tracy "meets the family" for Bob's BD dinner.
Hope you all have a wonderful SENSIBLE Saturday!
♥hugs♥

Good morning!
Running trails today with DH but driving some up to a higher starting point (since there isn't a lot of parking) and then driving down a bit and running backwards with three others to meet the runners we dropped off and run back with them. Today I "get" to run Devil's Thumb.....I admit to some anxiety about this. It is kind of famously steep on the Western States trail. I will not actually be "running" up it....it is too steep. Anyway, it will be good to know what DH is conquering out there and this will probably be my last canyon run doing that before 6/26. It could be raining a bit while we run and it is only in the 30s so I will be prepared for that. I have SO much work to do (work-work) this weekend...but the good news is that, if I can stick with it, it will be DONE. And I have a 5 day weekend next weekend too. What a week...glad to be here with you and that it is Saturday.
Carole: Sounds like a fun day! I wonder if they don't let food come in so that people don't feed things to the animals? I see so many signs around about that in zoos and wonder what people are thinking who would do that! I loved the photos of the girls playing in the hose....was that Ken on the other end of the hose, LOL? I don't remember seeing who it was. Okay, HOLD THE TRAIN....is Bob the gentleman that Tracy has been dating? She is meeting the family? Have you met him? What do you think? Does he pass the "mom" test? I am so glad that she has found someone she enjoys doing thngs with! What a wonderful thing. I love that you will be outside so much today--I would think that you will feel so good at the end of the day after so much fresh air, etc. When is Jaclyn's bday? My sister's is on 5/28---always around Memorial Day weekend. Yep, it is really cold here (but dry)...so odd, isn't it? I hope that it is warm next week as all of the high school grduations are happening and they are usually outside---which would be very important this year. That is so funny about both of our grandmas tracking the weather. My grandma had a large phone too and stickers on it with key phone numbers--- it would read: Phil: 622-5843 Al: 622-4578 and she had on there 911: 911 -- it always cracked me up...what is the number again for 911?? LOL. I confess to teasing her a little bit about it Hope that you have a good day!

Jenny: So good to see you! Hey, a movie weekend sounds fun! It is cold here as well but no rain A four-day weekend will be nice, won't it? I remember you talking about that plant being one where people have their eyes on you...that would get to me too! Hope that this is a nice weekend for you--when is Audrey's graduation? They are all next week around here....but I think that might be early compared to some other places.
Hello to all who follow. Time to pack things up and get ready to head out. We'll see if maybe I get a picture or two today....have a good one ladies!

Morning all...yes, it is still morning, barely!! Slept great last night, actually slept in until 7:55am....that rarely happens!! Had a lazy morning, enjoying coffee, listening to the birds...then got moving, stripped the bed and will make the switch to T-shirt sheets from flannel!! Defrosted the ice maker....note to self, don't get this style from ice maker ever again! I have to defrost it every few months...not hard, just annoying. Hannah & Shea complain about the same thing! LOL....too bad I didn't know that BEFORE we bought the fridge! Already on 2nd 20 ounce glass of water so doing well there, especially for a Saturday!! Go me!
Time to head back to yesterday to catch up.....after looking at a computer screen ALL DAY yesterday I just didn't have it in me!! I was glad the week was finally over...I was beat!!
First off before I forget....Happy Birthday Karen!! Hope you have a great day! ♥♥♥
Carole...yes, it was a long week...I had had 2-4 day weeks and this was my 1st full week again and that extra day did me in! I'll be better next week!! Sounds like adjusting the meds back to only 1 pill might just be the dose you need....that really the reason doctors start on a low dose and gradually increase until you find the right dose for each person. Glad you were tracking how you felt! Sounds like your new team is doing well when you are out....yes, there will be a few "learning curves" and questions but it sounds like they will be "up to speed" when head to TX!!
I LOVE the old books you found. I agree...books are hard to throw away!! Hopefully someone will find a good home for them. How special to find the diary from the year you were born...I agree, such a gift and a shame you didn't think to keep them all. My DGF on dad's side kept a journal for decades and I think my cousin Tom has them. For about 5-8 years before Grandpa died, Tom gave him "1 hour/week" as his Christmas gift....on Tom's day off, he would head to Gram & Gramp's and see what Grandpa needed....sometimes it was just a game of cribbage, other times it was a task he needed an extra hand....such a special time for Tom and when Grandpa died, he ask Gram is he could read the diaries to learn more about him....Gram gave them to him!
Gabrielle....sad that you were almost excited about a long day but I guess with the weekend and a day off on the other side it makes a long day seem more manageable!! WOW, 8:30-5:30 continuous ZOOM meetings....that's ridiculous!! You deserve a lunch!! I'm just chuckling that we on the East coast are waking up to much warmer temps than you....hopefully the snow doesn't materialize so you have a safe and NOT sloppy run today!! Oh yes....having a troublesome back for so many years, I know I can still be helpful but need to do it manner that is safe for me!! I know I need this back for MANY years of retirement so don't want to do anything stupid that will limit me in any way!!
Yes Gabrielle...the 6 feet is NOT a problem in our office...we have 1 foot tiles on the floor and we are actually all sitting 8 feet apart so even when one of us gets up and walks out of the office it is about 4 feet and just passing someone is not an issue. Besides, come Tuesday, all 3 of us are fully vaccinated so we are NOT worried and are thoroughly enjoying being mask free. May face is very happy and finally clearing up! I had more "maskne" then I did acne as a a kid!!
Jenny....so glad you got a chance to pop in!! I agree, the CDC opened a big can of worms with the announcement about vaccinated people able to go mask free....it brought on the fact that people, unfortunately, will lie to go w/o a mask. I think the fact that Sheridan said as long as people can stay 6 feet apart they can take their mask off is their way of letting those of us who are vaccinated enjoy being mask free w/o TOTALLY pi$$ing off those who still are not! In our newsletter with paychecks this week there was a blurb about Sheridan bringing someone in for a vaccine clinic if there is enough interest. Then they said "this in NO WAY means Sheridan is requiring vaccines at this time"!! Kind of made me laugh. I was surprised the last two days when I had to go to the main plant how many still have masks one....the usual people that would not care and take them off didn't have them on and I know they were not vaccinated but others are still following the rules. Around here, some stores have totally lifted mask requirements and others still require them. I do still carry one with with everywhere and will put it on when I need to....really isn't that big a deal. So far I have only seen one person being obnoxious about putting a mask on but the person at the door just pointed to the sign and the person did eventually put one on and went in.
Time for another glass of water....40 ounces by around noon on a Saturday....I'm on a roll! LOL!!

Carole...thanks for starting us off again this morning! I say the picture Tracy posted of the 5 of you heading to the zoo!! Glad the weather is cooperating so far and you could enjoy the zoo day with the girls!! So glad Ken got to tag along too!! Well, 6:30 doesn't really seem to be "sleeping in" to me, but with Eden, that is good! LOL!! Hopefully even with fast food, the day's tracker won't be too bad!! When I got up just before 8:00 this morning, it was already warmer outside than in the house!! We even left the windows open all night for the first time this year!
Oh....I will confess, I'm glad that next weekend will be about 10 degrees cooler than this weekend because we will have to keep the windows closed again for 48 hours to do another Radon test. We got the results of the 1st one we did last weekend...results are great but not quite below the "safe" level. We started at 180.8 and we are now down to 12.2 which is GREAT!! Jason called the company and they too had gotten the results and want us to do one more test before they come out to modify the system. They said that because our level was so high to begin with, it might just need another week or two to get the levels down to where they need to be. If they are not down to that level.....they will come out, make sure all the seals are secure and if needed put in a bigger more powerful exhaust fan. They guarantee that they can get the levels to the "safe" level and out warranty does not start until it gets there! They truly are standing behind their words and I love that!!
WOW Carole...Tracy is going to "meet the family" tonight. Definitely sounds like she & Bob are enjoying each others company and moving forward with their friendship/relationship. Hope all goes well. I know she will be welcomed. Have you and Ken gotten a chance to meet Bob???
Gabrielle....oh my, sounds like a cold, miserable run today!! Please be careful out there!! Bummer for a full weekend of work work but hopefully if you can get it done this weekend so you can truly enjoy your 5 day weekend next week.
OK...need some lunch....never did eat breakfast so getting kind of hungry!!
Waves to all I missed. Hope everyone is enjoying a nice weekend and making a little "me time" for yourself!!
