June already!?! Ok, its been June for 7 days but it just feels strange to see that this year is approaching being halfway passed.
Ruth- what kind of sweater will you be making for DAgD’s sweater? (Is this for the granddaughter in Indiana?). Think the idea of a shawl cardigan sounds so cozy- even knowing that we are facing some very hot weather. You find some awesome ideas to make as gifts. Do you ever crochet for yourself??
CJ- looks like mid to late week the east coast gets a break from the heat- I even saw some temps in the 70’s and nighttime temps in the low 60’s. That is welcome and you should be able to open the curtains/shades and let some light in. Love your next planned color scheme for the wiggle time quilt.! Are you planning on using a tonal white for that or a plain white?
Got another service appointment with the cable company on Wednesday. Part of me wants to drive to their office today (about 7 miles from here) just to express my frustration, but I suspect that the company is well aware of my level of frustration. Its ok, if they cannot fix it, direct TV is, I am sure, more than welcome to get my business back.
Quiet day today....got study group tonight and want to get a walk in. Its hard to inspire myself to walk in the heat. BBL Ginny

CJ, thanks for those link. IN the first one there were quilts I didn't care for probably because of the colors being so kind of drab looking. The Wiggle time on the second like was really nice. I love that one. And thank you for the complement! Yes I know how it is to have the house dark so I'll be glad when the weather cooperates so that you can open the windows and shades.
My dd posted a picture of my new dggs with his sweater, hat, scratch mitts and booties on. I did show dgd how to stretch the tops, which are ribbing to get them on easier. I hope, though that they didn't keep them on him too long since It's been way too hot. They had the scratch mitts under the sleeves of the sweater.
Ginny it sure is too hot to walk right now. youngest dgd (in Indiana)asked if I could make her "a shirt or a sweater like this one" and she sent a picture. I looked for a pattern, not because I needed a pattern to make it but because I needed some measurement guidlines. She's 9 and pretty small for 9. I did have her send measurements for across her shoulders and for the length she needed. I then saw a pattern for this shawl cardigan and sent a picture to her and she was very enthusiastic about that one. The other looked more like a serape. I thought she would like the one I saw and she did. It have a pattern, too, that is for any size child to adult.
I got most of the first end of the pocket shawl done last night but ran out of yarn and was too lazy to go back upstairs to get it so I worked on sewing in ends and got half of the first side done. There are sure a lot of ends.
Oh and Ginny, I did look at that Hobby Lobby sale but I really do have way too much yarn. I was tempted last weekend to buy some. HL had the 30% off tthen too. JOann's had free shipping and no limit but I still didn't order. I do see so many great yarns that I want but then think about all that I already have and have been able to restrain myself. Seems like when I see a new pattern I don't have the colors I want, I also want to get some #3 weight in a cotton yarn because I don't have any of that and I've seen a lot of patterns that call for it. I usually just use the yarn I have, though, and adjust accordingly if that can be done.

Oh and Ginny, I hope they get your tv cable fixed. We're cancelling out DTV soon (mentioned that before I'm sure) and then we'll see how that goes and maybe get a new company later. Dish network is always sending me offers to get even $300 gift card so maybe we'll go with them again. When we had them before they didn't provide a dvr and a lot of other things weren't provided either.

Phyl, that wiggle time pattern is a PDF that you have to download. It did not appear as though you can buy hard copy. I wonder if Missouri has something similar- gosh they have so many patterns. This wiggle time pattern (CJ correct me, please!!!) seems to be made with at least some charm packs- which are the heart of MIssouri quilt patterns.... good luck.
Ruth-Its gonna be what it will with my cable TV. Yes, I saw the Joanns sale also, and had some fabrics in my cart, then convinced myself to just see what I had here. I have to look a bit more, as to make a quilt for the kitten I will need another fabric (as the one fabric I will be taking for the binding of the falling charms). I am changing my mind about falling charms, what I want for the binding anyway. Think another trip to HL is in order for me. Well, sewing in ends is something that must happen- so I bet you are glad that is done. Think you will be able to get back to the shawl today? What color yarn are you using for the shawl cardigan? Its SOOOOO nice when a loved one asks for something- like the shawl cardigan or posts pics of something you made in use. I doubt that they kept the baby in the wonderful crocheted gifts for long...but it was very thoughtful of them to give you pictures.
It was miserable here today. I did get my walk in early and clipped the spent blossoms on the peonies. That was pretty much enough for me outside today. I really dislike this weather. I did end up spending a good amount of time on the quilt- think I got 3 bobbins sewn and might get one more done before dinner. I guesstimate that I am 80% done with the quilting and am starting to develop a strategy for finishing it (which way I will stitch). You start working in the middle, and well now the middle is done, so I have to figure out a way to get around from the middle to the edges. Got Bible study tonight, so I doubt I will stop back in later. Ginny

nope,
Msqc does not have it and none of the other sites have it. oh well I enough other books and patterns to make the froggy quilt. thinking of sqaures and then trim of green around the pink and pink around the greem then I could change my mind.
I fell in love with this fabric years ago.was going to use the pink for a girl and the green for a boy.now I want to combine them.
I really should finish projects before starting a new one.PHYL

Hello Everyone Phyl - It is a download pattern that is 6 pages. But you would only need to actually print 3 of the pages to have the pattern - the other 3 pages are a big picture of the quilt, a coloring page, and just another finishing page. Hope this helps. Here's another version this quilter made, I like the pink fabrics: quiltingismorefunthanhousework.blogspot.com/2017/09/wiggle-time-scraps-and-pattern-sale.htmlGinny - I hope that the cable company will be able to get things fixed on Wednesday. I know I get very frustrated when the cable or internet doesn't work correctly. We've become so dependent on them - not just for fun, but for everyday things. The background fabric I'll use for the new Wiggle Time quilt is the white fabric with the sea/sand castles on it. Ruth - All of those shawls/cardigans are so cute. I bet they will love to wear them. We have hot weather here too, hope yours cools off soon. I finished attaching the binding to the front of the nine pieces I had ready and now I just need to sew them down, which I hope to get done tomorrow morning. I checked and I only have 23/24 more pieces to bind and I'm hoping that if I work at it I could get all of them done in June. I had thought it would take me all summer, so I'd be happy to finish early. I do have some other things to work on this month. They'll be the blocks for the Mini Sewing Bee and for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge the color this month is purple. So I'll need to make those blocks and then organize and cut my leftover purple scraps. I don't have that many of them and I might have to look at my fat quarters to finish my blocks. It will be nice to get all my scraps organized by later this year. Take care everyone!

CJ, you have mad quilting skillz! . You are very fast at sewing...wow. All those done already. And yes you will, at this rate, have them all done by the end of this month! Meant to tell you also...my sister for some reason posts her meals online...pictures of them I mean. Yesterday her food was on a sea based patterned plate. It had lighthouses. Now I'm venting... saw an ad for getting ins quote from Progressive. I never like their commercials so never thought of getting ins from them but out of curiosity I did the quote thing. Found out I could save over $600/year for the same coverage. so went to finalize buying it and suddenly they're talling me that instead of being$511 for six months it would be over $1200 because in checking my driving record they saw that I had an at fault accident in Dec of 2019, So how is a garbage bin being blown into my car while it's just sitting here in my driveway an at fault accident? My own ins co didn't raise my rate because of it so why would this company. So anyway I'm sticking to the one I have and will save even more than the $600 by not switching.Makes a person wonder what they do to you while you are a customer.

Phyl- that is so frustrating!! Did re setting the needle fix the problem? Good for you getting the binding strips sewn. One step closer to having the binding attached. Do you finish the binding by machine or by hand?
Ruth, unfortunately, that is exactly what insurance companies do- kind of a bait and switch. they tempt with the promise of low rates and then get into past accidents when they pull your abstract. Think that happened to us when we switched to Geico- who I switched to when rate creep made me want to switch insurance companies. (BTW- I am back to my original insurance company). I really like the pictures you posted, but love the longer triangle shawl (kids sized one). They are so flowy, drape so nicely. I would imagine they are made with a more fine yarn.
CJ- cannot believe how much you accomplsih!!! Are you using a lot of the same fabrics for binding all those quilts? Thanks for posting the picture of the wiggle quilt with pink fabrics. I like the pink fabrics too and it adds a fun young girl appearance to a fun quilt.
Busy day- worked this am .I did work on the quilt a bit- and now have one last corner to quilt. (Probably 4 bobbins to go). I am looking forward to the end of this quilt and want to get the binding on it. THink tomorrow I am heading to HL to pick up more fabric for the binding. I have fabric here, but am th inking it will look better with a darker binding. Think my friend wants to go up with me.

About 3 years ago Dh was convinced that USAA HAD to have lower rates than we were paying. My Brother in law was very insistent that they would be cheaper. So I spent a ton of time filling out forms and line by line getting the same coverage I have here. After it was all said and done, the insurance I have is still cheaper, and I love my agent and have good coverage. In my case, its that I have been with this company for many many years. (We left them only for a few years when rate creep took place). In my case USAA was shocked at the rates I have, and their premium was more expensive.
